Real Exchange Rate, Foreign Trade and Employment: Evidence from China
Get PDFCoordination of macro-economic development and employment is an essential issue for China's social development, which largely depends on economic expansion, as well as integration into the global market to create jobs. Through the literature review and empirical test, this paper analyses the relationship between macro-economic policy and employment, and discusses the impact of real exchange rate and foreign trade on employment. The research indicates that a stable and competitive exchange rate policy plays an indispensable role in employment promotion, more effective than monetary and fiscal policies, while the export growth also plays a positive role in employment promotion.China, employment, foreign trade, real exchange rate
Elastic Energy Flux by Flexible Polymers in Fluid Turbulence
No full textWe present a study of the energy transfer in the bulk of a turbulent flow with dilute long-chain polymer additives. Based on prior work by Tabor and de Gennes [Europhys. Lett. 2, 519 (1986); Physica (Amsterdam) 140A, 9 (1986)], we propose a theory on the energy flux into the elastic degrees of freedom of the polymer chains. This elastic energy flux, which increases as the length scale decreases, gradually reduces the energy transferred to smaller scales through turbulence cascade and hence suppresses small scale fluctuations. The balance of the elastic energy flux and the turbulence energy cascade gives an elastic length scale, which describes the effect of polymer elasticity on turbulence in the inertial range. Predictions of this new “energy flux balance theory” agree excellently with our experimental results

A Human Settlement's Assessment with GIS on Niche Suitability in Heng Yang City of China
No full textIn order to assess the cities' human settlement, this paper proposes a new method according to the elements of niche suitability by the following: (1) the author selects meticulously 25 leading indicators what can reflect the best coupling between the reality niche and the best approximate niche; (2) the author sets up a new quantitative model of multiplies indices using niche suitability on assessing the cities' human settlements. By the way, the indices those the author uses to set up the model are form the economical, social and environmental niche respectively. The new method and the model are used to assessing the Heng Yang City of Hu Nan Province in China in order to take an example for its effect. With the help of the SuperMap-GIS software in his experiment, the author acquires a thematic map of Heng Yang Cities' human settlement, the results of this experiment display that this method and its model are very practicable for assessing a cities' inner human settlement. By the results of this paper, the author expresses his viewpoints for promotion the cities' human settlement that this paper does a research.</jats:p
