Rezultati: Podatke, pridobljene z anketnim vprašalnikom, smo uredili s pomočjo Microsoftovega Excela 2019 in Microsoftovega Worda. Introduction: Since knowledge of first aid is essential for recognising and responding to emergency and non-emergency trauma conditions, it is critical that reliable information is available to the public. Healthcare professionals and laypeople alike must be familiar with the actions to be taken in the event of an incident requiring immediate first aid, as this helps to minimise the negative consequences for the injured person\u27s health.. Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to find out if there are any misconceptions about first aid in specific trauma situations among laypeople and medical students. The aim of this thesis is to determine if there are statistically significant differences in laypeople\u27s and medical students\u27 knowledge of myths and facts about first aid for particular trauma conditions. Methods: The theoretical section of the paper conducts a critical review of the scientific and professional literature. To prepare the theoretical background, the literature was searched in international databases such as Medline (PubMed), Cinahl, DiKul, and Google. In the empirical section, a quantitative, non-experimental method of work was used. The data were collected using the open-source survey application 1KA. Results: The data collected from the survey questionnaire was edited in 2019 Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. The data was statistically processed using SPSS version 26. The study included 466 subjects, 281 of whom were medical students and 185 were laypeople. Discussion and conclusion: Except for three statements: if I help, I will be sued if I do something wrongif I remove an injured motorcyclist\u27s helmet, his skull might break in halfwe must first hit the drowning person on the head to knock him unconscious, then we rescue himthere were no statistically significant differences between laypeople and students. We found that students were more likely to answer correctly, implying that they were adept at distinguishing between the identified myths and facts about trauma first aid. All those involved in training the lay and professional public in first aid should make every effort to dispel rumours and myths about first aid measures that contradict doctrinal guidance. Participants in training sessions must be given unambiguous and clear guidance on first aid since this is the only way to eliminate or help prevent the spread and creation of new fallacies and dilemmas

Planšarska naselja oz. planšarije predstavljajo pomemben del poselitvene strukture, značilen predvsem za visokogorska območja Slovenije. S svojo arhaično podobo nam nudijo vpogled v daljno preteklost in kot take predstavljajo pomemben vir informacij o najbolj zgodnjih začetkih poselitve v našem prostoru. The alpine dairy farming settlements or alpine dairy farms represent an important part of the settlement structure characteristic mainly for Slovenian mountains. With their archaic image the alpine dairy farms offer an insight into the distant past and are as such an important source of information about the first settlements on our territory. In the past years a number of alpine dairy farms has undergone a transformation into permanent settlements or holiday resorts, some are even falling apart and are therefore losing their historical value. Using the examples of 15 alpine dairy farming settlements from Julian and Kamnik Alps this dissertation analyses the major factors that have impacted the choice of location for the farming settlements, their spatial arrangement, the building typology, the arrangement of accesses and connections inside each settlement, and their connections with pastures. By analysing each settlement, the dissertation researches to what degree the arrangement of the alpine dairy farming settlements has been impacted not only by natural resources and ecological factors but also by social factorsit also tries to define the boundaries between the functionality and the planned forming of such settlements. Using the data acquired with the analyses and the research of local literature and current legislation the dissertation also presents suggestions for further regulations of alpine dairy farms

On the basis of answers obtained from the survey that was carried out among children and youth (adolescents) in my diploma work I studied cognitive and emotional effects of forestćs elements on children before and after performingthe forest pedagogy. The main intention was to demonstrate that in order to shape and preserve forest values the education with children in nature should be organised. The research had been carried out within the framework of summer camp in Kranjska Gora in July 2006. The survey participants consists of 113 children and youth, aged seven to thirteen. The survey results show that children visit the forest more frequently in the presence of an adult person than the adolescents do. In comparison with boys girls, want to spend more time in the forest. After carrying out the forest pedagogy positive feelings towards the forest, and activities in the forest, the extent of associations related to positive forest elements and desire to spend more time in the forest increased, whereas the children\u27s interest for being engaged in the forest profession decreased. My survey indicated that in the future it would be very recommendable to consider the forest pedagogy as an integral part of the general education of children, youth and adults as well

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    No full text
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

In this Presidential Address, the author takes the reader on a reconnaissance of his life and time as a regional scientist. He points out scenery he found scintillating along the way, hoping that some may pick up the banner and chew on a few of the ideas for a while. He suggests a revisit to Albert O. Hirschman’s notion of key sectors and more empirical analysis related to Marcus Berliant’s and Masahisa Fujita’s notion of knowledge creation and transfer.Presidential Address, San Antonio, Texas, March 29, 2014 (53rd Meetings of the Southern Regional Science Association
