L'accouchement inopiné extra-hospitalier par les sapeurs-pompiers, comment gèrent-ils ? La réalité de ces accouchements
No full textIntroduction: in a context of maternity unit closures and increasing geographic distance to hospitals, firefighters are becoming key players in the emergency management of childbirth. This thesis questions their role and the limits of their training when faced with such situations.Materials and Methods: this study is based on a qualitative approach, drawing on eighth semi-structured interviews conducted in sixth fire stations in the Loire department. The data were thematically analyzed to highlight the firefighters’ experiences and practices.Results: the results reveal rather uneven preparation among firefighters when dealing with unexpected out-of-hospital births. While some feel relatively confident due to previous experience or occasional training, others report a lack of practice, infrequent refreshers, and persistent apprehension. Stress remains a common factor, sometimes alleviated by team support or the presence of healthcare professionals.Discussion: the analysis highlights several avenues for improvement: increasing the frequency of training, incorporating more hands-on practice, and implementing immersion placements in maternity wards. The development of easily accessible educational resources, as well as collaboration with midwives, also appear to be concrete and valuable strategies.Conclusion: this thesis underscores the importance of recognizing unexpected births as a significant issue for firefighters. Beyond technical skills, the ability to reassure, adapt, and collaborate with healthcare professionals proves essential. This work calls for a re-evaluation of their role within the perinatal care chain.Introduction : dans un contexte de réduction des maternités et d’éloignement géographique, les sapeurs-pompiers deviennent des acteurs clés dans la prise en charge des naissances en urgence. Ce mémoire questionne leur rôle et les limites de leur formation face à ces situations.Matériel et méthode : l’étude repose sur une approche qualitative, basée sur huit entretiens semi-directifs menés dans six casernes de la Loire. Les données ont été analysées thématiquement afin de dégager les expériences et les pratiques des pompiers.Résultats : les résultats montrent une préparation plutôt hétérogène des sapeurs-pompiers face aux accouchements inopinés extra-hospitaliers. Si certains se sentent relativement confiants grâce à l'expérience ou à des formations ponctuelles, d'autres expriment un manque de pratique, de rappels réguliers et une appréhension persistante. Le stress reste un facteur commun, atténué parfois par le soutien en équipe ou le renfort des professionnels de santé.Discussion : l’analyse met en lumière plusieurs pistes d’amélioration : augmenter la fréquence des formations, intégrer davantage de pratique, et instaurer des stages d’immersion en maternité. Le développement de supports accessibles à tout moment, ainsi que la collaboration avec les sages-femmes, apparaissent également comme des leviers concrets.Conclusion : ce mémoire révèle l’importance de considérer les accouchements inopinés comme un enjeu à part entière pour les pompiers. La capacité à rassurer, à s’adapter et à travailler en lien avec les autres professionnels du soin qui fait la différence. Ce travail invite à repenser leur place dans la chaîne de périnatalité
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
