No full textThis research explains about representation of subaltern�s voice in The
Glory of Sri Sri Ganesh, a novel written by Mahasweta Devi. That action aims to
develop a deeper analysis about subaltern phenomenon in the novel, regardless of
the descriptive analysis. In addition, this research also aims to construct a critical
reading.
The critical reading in this research will be done by using the concept of
subalternity proposed by Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak. According to her
definition, subaltern is a position without any identity and there is no space from
which the subaltern as subject can speak. In finding out how Mahasweta Devi
represents the subalternity through The Glory of Sri Sri Ganesh, aside from using
the subaltern theory, the writer also uses the deconstruction reading method. With
the discovery of the binary oppositions, it will be seen that one side of the unit is
the privileged opposition, hierarchical, and other are the marginalized.
In this novel, the hierarchical oppositional forces shape the dominant
structure which describes the social life of low class citizen in India. Mahasweta
Devi not only develops the dominant structure through characters and sequence of
events but she also represent another perspective where subaltern can speak and
do something better toward their life with actions of rebellion. The representation
of subaltern�s voice in this novel is being questioned by interrogating the author�s
hierarchy reversal of dominant structures in the novel. Thus, it would be revealed
another data that it is likely to contradict the author's description of her own
hierarchy reversal

Communication strategy of Wat Phra Sri Maha Uma Devi as a Hindu Tourism Destination in Bangkok
No full textBackground: Wat Phra Sri Maha Uma Devi, commonly known as Wat Khaek Silom, is a popular and important Hindu temple in Bangkok, serving as a tourist attraction. Through communication and promotion efforts through digital media and collaborating with various parties to create attractive religious tourism. Despite its popularity, research on effective communication strategies to increase its attractiveness as a religious tourism destination is limited. Purpose: This study aims to analyze and develop effective communication strategies to promote Wat Phra Sri Maha Uma Devi as a Hindu tourist destination in Bangkok. The focus of the research is on communication strategies that are carried out through integrating cultural and religious values, as well as utilizing the use of digital communication media. Methods: This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study methodology, including interviews and participatory observations of temple management, tourists, and the local community. This approach was taken to gain a thorough understanding of the experiences, views, and challenges in managing religious tourism. Results: The findings highlight that effective communication, such as the use of digital communication media platforms and multilingual educational materials, significantly enhances the tourist experience and promotes sustainable tourism. The challenges faced are maintaining the authenticity of the temples while meeting the growing demands of tourism. Conclusion: Wat Phra Sri Maha Uma Devi has successfully integrated religious and cultural elements with effective communication strategies, making it a major tourist destination for Hindus. Implications: The findings of this study provide insights for tourism authorities and temple management to develop sustainable communication strategies that balance cultural preservation with commercial development
InAKTivation of insulin/IGF-1 signaling by dephosphorylation
No full textSignal transduction pathways are tightly regulated by phosphorylation-dephosphorylation cycles and yet the mammalian genome contains far more genes that encode protein kinases than protein phosphatases. Therefore, to target specific substrates, many phosphatases associate with distinct regulatory subunits and thereby modulate multiple cellular processes. One such example is the C. elegans PP2A regulatory subunit PPTR-1 that negatively regulates the insulin/insulin-like growth factor signaling pathway to modulate longevity, dauer diapause, fat metabolism and stress resistance. PPTR-1, as well as its mammalian homolog B56β, specifically target the PP2A enzyme to AKT and mediate the dephosphorylation of this important kinase at a conserved threonine residue. In C. elegans, the major consequence of this modulation is activation of the FOXO transcription factor homolog DAF-16, which in turn regulates transcription of its many target genes involved in longevity and stress resistance. Understanding the function of B56 subunits may have important consequences in diseases such as Type 2 diabetes and cancer where the balance of Akt phosphorylation is deregulated
Optical Properties of Micro/Nano Structured Metal-Insulator-Metal Nanocavities
No full textPlasmonic metamaterials provide a great deal of optical tunability and interesting phenomena in terms of light-matter interaction. Metal-Insulator-Metal (MIM) nanocavities are one of the most versatile systems for nano light confinement and waveguiding. These cavities exhibit Epsilon-Near-Zero (ENZ) modes, which can be used in conjunction with emitters to improve their optical properties. MIM nanocavities have been extensively studied, but when the cavities are confined in one more direction, the behavior changes. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of lateral micro/nano structuring on the optical properties of these cavities.
The ENZ cavity resonance present in planar cavities persist even when the lateral dimensions are reduced to the micrometer range. When the diameters of the cavities are further reduced to hundreds of nanometers, electric (ED) and magnetic dipole (MD) modes come into picture. These modes are present even in micron size structures, but they fall in infrared region. Recently all-dielectric nanostructures have gained popularity to manifest these dipole modes, as they eliminate the dissipative losses present in metallic nanostructures and support toroidal dipoles (TD) when the geometry is optimized. The destructive interference of any two of these dipole modes, which cancels the far-field radiation, results in a non-radiative mode known as anapole. However, this necessitates the use of materials with a high refractive index (n), typically n ≥ 3. In low index materials like Alumina (Al2O3), the MIM configuration provides the necessary field confinement and can excite these modes. The existence of ENZ cavity modes in MIM micropillars, as well as dipole and anapole-like modes in MIM nanopillars, is demonstrated experimentally.
Photolithography (for micropillars) and electron-beam lithography (for nanopillars) were used to fabricate, and ellipsometry to characterize the samples. To facilitate cost-effective, large area fabrication, Talbot lithography technique was exploited to get smaller feature sizes (<500nm) using standard photolithography setup. In addition, a lithography-free, dry-synthesis technique was explored to produce nanophorous metal films and their plasmonic properties were examined

Penelitian ini membahas mengenai hubungan self efficacy dengan kinerja pegawai di Unit Pelayanan Teknis (UPT) Panti Asuhan Sri Mujinab Dinas Sosial Provinsi Riau.Self efficacy adalah keyakinan seorang individu mengenai kemampuannya dalam mengorganisasi dan menyelesaikan suatu tuga s yang diperlukan untuk mencapai hasil tertentu. Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah tentang kedisiplinan pegawai di Unit Pelayanan Teknis (UPT) Panti Asuhan Sri Mujinab Dinas Sosial Provinsi Riau. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui self efficacy yang dilakukan di Unit Pelayanan Teknis (UPT) Panti Asuhan Sri Mujinab Dinas Sosial Provinsi Riau terhadap kinerja pegawai. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa penelitian lapangan yang mencakup penyebaran kuesioner. Responden yang ditetapkan adalah Pegawai Unit Pelayanan Teknis (UPT) Panti Sosial Sri Mujinab Dinas Sosial Provinsi Riau dengan jumlah populasi 35 orang.Teknik pengolahan data yang digunakan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kedua variable adalah dengan menggunakan korelasi product moment. Hasil penelitian yang didapatkan menunjukkan self efficacy dikatakan kuat olah pegawai karena rata-rata keseluruhan sebesar 0,884 dan kinerja pegawai dikatakan kuat karena nilai rata-rata keseluruhan 0, 799 berdasarkan hasil perhitungan dengan menggunakan analisis korelasi product moment didapat angka koefesien korelasi sebesar 0,454 dan signifikan (2-tailed)=0,006. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan signifikan antara self efficacy terhadap Kinerja Pegawai Di Panti Asuhan Sri Mujinab Dinas Sosial Provinsi Riau.
