    No full text
Fil: Ansaldo, Paula Nora. The New American Gazette: Nora Dunn, David Ross and Rosanne Cash; Freedom of Expression and Censorship in the Arts , at Ford Hall Forum, audio recording and transcript

    No full text
No issues are burning hotter in America today than those revolving around freedom of expression. A Cincinnati gallery director was put on trial for exhibiting Robert Mapplethorpe\u27s photographs, a rap group lyrics have been found to be obscene in Florida, and the role--as well as the funding--of the National Endowment for the Arts is in question. Bringing their unique perspectives on freedom of expression and censorship in the arts to THE NEW AMERICAN GAZETTE this week are: singer and songwriter Rosanne Cash; Nora Dunn, comedienne and former cast member of Saturday Night Live; and David Ross, director of Boston\u27s Institute of Contemporary Art, an exhibitor of Mapplethorpe\u27s photographs.https://dc.suffolk.edu/fhf-av/1141/thumbnail.jp

    Interpretación de la integridad ecológica

    No full text
Fil: Giorgi, Adonis David Nazareno. Nora, Nora : a novel

    No full text
Peyton is not ready to share her widowed father with anyone, let alone a barely remembered cousin who just rolled into town. However, her father seems to like Nora well enough, and prim Aunt Augusta hates her, which raises Nora slightly in Peyton's esteem. Maybe Nora is just what quiet Lytton, Georgia needs this summer. The whole household is revitalized by Nora's energy, and it looks like she might stay on forever. But soon it becomes clear that something is troubling Nora deeply. It has to be something from her past that's bothering her, something she is running away from. When the shocking truth comes to light, it stuns the residents of their small segregated town. It also teaches Peyton the enormous cost of loving -- and the necessity of doing it anyway. New York Times bestselling author Anne Rivers Siddons has created a quirky, wildly likeable, and truly unforgettable heroine. Nora, Nora is a wonderful novel, written with insight and a keen sense of time and place. It is destined to be Anne Rivers Siddons's biggest hit yet

Local Place and Global Space: Solidarity Across Borders and the Question of the Environment

    No full text
The globalisation of work division and global Climate Change are closely linked through the process of economically driven globalisation. In principle, trade unions are best equipped to challenge the destructive results of these globalising processes: they organise workers across national divides and within national borders, being simultaneously local and global. However, a closer look at labour policies in countries of the global North and the global South reveals that historical power relations reproduce themselves in the relationships between unions of the global North and the global South. These power relations influence the ways in which unions in the North and South perceive climate change and climate change measures. The authors show that there are nevertheless ways in which unions of the North and the South are learning from each other and from environmental movements exploring alternative models of development
