    The research was conducted in FMIPA (Mathematics and Science Faculty) from UNJ on Chemistry Education Program with the objective to increase the quality of Organic Chemistry Learning, Research being done is Class Action Research.. Test result of initial capability on Organic Chemistry shows that the students understanding on basic organic chemistry is low. On first cycle with stereochemistry subject, the understanding test have yet shown optimum result with average score of 55.6% and with high percentage of students receiving score under 60 (40.6%). By improving the learning process based on the first cycle I, in cycle II with subject on Halida Alkil, there were score increase to 64.31 in average with percentage of students with above 60 score reaching 65%. Questioner result and observation during learning process tells us that students were not feeling burdened with summarizing tasks given at the end of each discussion. They even acknowledge that summarizing task followed by another discussion on the next meeting are very beneficial in increasing theirunderstanding since any conceptual misunderstanding can be immediately corrected in “tasks discussion†activity. Abstrak Penelitian ini dilaksanakandi Program Studi Pendidikan Kimia FMIPA UNJ dengan Tujuan meningkatkan kualitas Pembelajaran Kimia Organik , melalui penerapan PenilaianPportofolio terhadap tugas  rangkuman, serta mendapatkan strategi penerapan penilaian Portofolio yang.dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran Kimia Organik. Penelitian yang dilakukan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (Action Research).. Hasil Tes  kemampuan awal Kimia Organik menunjukkan rendahnya pemahaman mahasiswa mengenai konsep-konsep dasar Kimia Organik. Pada Siklus I dengan Materi kajian Stereokimia, hasil tes pemahaman belum menunjukkan hasil yang optimal   yaitu skor rata-rata 55,6% dengan masih tingginya prosentase mahasiswa yang mendapat skor di bawah 60 (40,6 %). Dengan memperbaiki proses pembelajaran berdasarkan refleksi siklus I, pada siklus II dengan materi kajian alkil halida terjadi peningkatan skor menjadi rata-rata 64,31 dengan prosentase yang mendapat nilai di atas 60 mencapai 65 %.    Hasil Angket dan pengamatan selama proses pembelajaran memberi informasi bahwa mahasiswa tidak merasa terbebani dengan pemberian tugas rangkuman pada setiap akhir pembahasan , bahkan mereka mengaku tugas rangkuman yang diikuti pembahasan pada pertemuan berikutnya sangat bermanfaat dalam meningkatkan pemahaman karena kesalahan konsep segera dapat dikoreksi pada kegiatan pembahasan tugas

    Penelitian  mengenai  optimasi  komposisi  Fe2(SO4)3.xH2O  dan  H2SO4  pekat  dalam  reaksi  transesterifikasi  minyak goreng bekas sebagai bahan biodiesel, bertujuan untuk mendapatkan komposisi katalis campuran Fe2(SO4)3.xH2O dan H2SO4 pekat yang optimum di dalam mengkatalisis reaksi transesterifikasi minyak goreng bekas dengan metano sebagai  bahan  biodiesel.  Komposisi  optimum  diperoleh  dengan  membandingkan  jumlah  gliserol  bebas  yang dihasilkan pada reksi transesterifikasi  menggunakan katalis campuran pada berbagai komposisi.  Hasil  penelitian  menunjukkan  bahwa  jumlah  gliserol  terbanyak  dihasilkan  dari  reaksi  menggunakan  campuran katalis  dengan  perbandingan  1  :  1  yaitu  sebanyak  2,6  gram  dari  jumlah  sampel  25  gram.  Uji  kualitas  terhadap produk memberi hasil : viskositas 13,37; bilangan asam 0,62, densitas 0,9068(150C) dan 0,8840 (400C). Dari  nilai bilangan  asam  dan  densitas  dapat  dikatakan  produk  yang  dihasilkan  sudah  memenuhi  standar  sebagai  bahan biodiesel.  Sedangkan  untuk  nilai  viskositas  belum  bisa  ditarik kesimpulan  karena  perlu  pengujian  dalam  bentuk campuran antara produk reaksi dengan solar.  Kata kunci : transesterifikasi, biodisel, katali

    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.     Pengaruh Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Group Investigation Berbasis ICT Terhadap Kemampuan Komunikasi Peserta Didik Pada Materi Larutan Elektrolit dan Non Elektrolit

    This study aims to determine the effect of the application of  cooperative learning models type Group Investigation based ICT on students' communication skills. This research was conducted with quantitative methods. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling. Learning was carried out in one experimental class and one control class by applying cooperative learning models type GI based ICT and non ICT. The research instrument uses statement questions that have been declared valid and reliable. The results of hypothesis testing of two independent samples obtained t stat (2,897)> t table (1,667), so it can be concluded that there is a positive influence on the application of  cooperative learning type Group Investigation based ICT on students’ communication skills. Further analysis on each indicator of communication skills, it can be seen that indicators identifying problems, gathering information, and drawing conclusions have a significant influence on the results of the experimental class and the control class. While indicators write summaries and use good grammar and spelling, there is no significant influence between the experimental class and the control class.   Keywords Communication Skills, Cooperative Learning Models Type Group Investigation, ICT Based LearningPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Group Investigation berbasis ICT terhadap kemampuan komunikasi peserta didik. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode kuantitatif. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Pembelajaran dilakukan pada satu kelas eksperimen dan satu kelas kontrol dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe GI berbasis ICT dan non ICT.Instrumen penelitian menggunakan soal uraian yang telah dinyatakan valid dan reliabel. Hasil uji hipotesis independent two samples t-test diperoleh nilai t hitung (2,897) > t tabel (1,667), sehingga dapat disimpulkan terdapat pengaruh positif pada penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Group Investigation berbasis ICT terhadap kemampuan komunikasi peserta didik. Analisis lebih lanjut pada tiap indikator kemampuan komunikasi, dapat diketahui bahwa pada indikator mengidentifikasi masalah, mengumpulkan informasi, dan menarik kesimpulan terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan pada hasil posttest kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Sedangkan pada indikator menuliskan ringkasan dan menggunakan tata bahasa dan ejaan yang baik tidak terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol.     Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

    We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods

    Pengaruh Perbandingan Pati Biji Sorgum (Sorghum Bicolor (l.) Moench) dan Poly Lactic Acid (PLA) terhadap Karakteristik Plastik Biodegradable

    This study aims to determine the effect of Sorghum and Poly lactic acid (PLA) on the plastic characteristics that can be seen from tensile strength, water resistance, and biodegradability. The method used blending (mixing) sorghum seed starch, PLA, glycerol, acetic acid, and maleic anhydride. From the results of infrared spectrum analysis on the visible plastic peak area 2250-2300 cm-1 which indicates the absorption of carbon dioxide. This plastic has an optimum water resistance of 92.76% in the ratio of Pati 0.6g: PLA 2.6g. The optimum tensile test results in a comparison of 0.2g starch: PLA 3g with a value of 10.58 Mpa. Optimum biodegradation test results in starch ratio of 0.6g: PLA 2.6g of 13.61%. From the data obtained can be concluded the optimum biodegradation and water endurance test on the ratio of starch 0.6g: PLA 2.6g.   Keyword: Seaweed starch, PLA, glycerol, maleic anhydrous, biodegraded plasti
