Data for: Transhumance and Shielings in Møre & Romsdal in the Iron and Middle Ages
The dataset is associated with the article "Transhumance and Shielings in Møre and Romsdal in the Iron and Middle Ages: A Refined Regional Chronology Based on Aggregated Radiocarbon Dates from Development-led Surveys and Small-scale Research Projects," submitted for publication and accepted in the Norwegian Archaeological Review (NAR) 2025. The datasets have also been submitted as supplementary documentation to the journal. The dataset is part of the undersigned's (Kristoffer Dahle) PhD and deals with C14 datings from archaeological surveys in Møre and Romsdal, with the aim of establishing a chronology for the use of shielings. The dates are either published, public (offical reports) or the use is approved

Denne masteroppgaven handler om å spille slåtter etter arkivmateriale. Knut Dahle
var en spelemann fra Tinn i Telemark og levde i perioden 1834-1921. Det finnes en
stor mengde arkivmateriale på flere av folkemusikkarkivene i Norge; voksrullopptak i
Folkemusikkarkivet i Telemark, ulike noter i Arne Bjørndals Samling, utgitte
grammofonplater og Halvorsens transkripsjoner. I tillegg til disse er det flere
transkripsjoner i Norsk folkemusikk, serie 1, Hardingfeleslåtter (bedre kjent som
”Hardingfeleverket”).
Oppgaven består av en teoretisk del og en praktisk del. Den teoretiske delen består
igjen av tekststudier; om historikk rundt Knut Dahle og om tidsperioden han levde i.
Den praktiske delen består av musikkutøving på hardingfele. Jeg har studert
arkivmaterialet etter Knut Dahle og har analysert 4 utvalgte slåtter og et fyrispel.
