No full textA partire da alcune norme deontologiche relative alla professione giornalistica, il testo riporta i risultati di un’indagine che aveva l’intenzione di rilevare l’estensione di eventuali violazioni relative alla cronaca dell’immigrazione. Pur riconoscendo che il racconto sui migranti è costantemente in bilico tra il dovere di cronaca e la tutela di alcuni principi fondamentali, si è deciso di misurare alcune violazioni che favoriscono - nel racconto dell’immigrazione e non solo - pericoli non trascurabili in termini di influenza sulle percezioni di lettori e spettatori.
Ne emerge che esiste, nel campione considerato, una tendenza alla diffusione di informazioni potenzialmente lesive della privacy e della dignità di persone direttamente o indirettamente coinvolte in fatti di cronaca, soprattutto quando il racconto ha per protagonisti migranti. Inoltre, i migranti appaiono sui Tg e i quotidiani analizzati come vittime dell’associazione stereotipizzante criminalità=immigrazione.
In ogni caso, l’analisi delle violazioni rileva che esse sono traversali a testate televisive e a stampa differenti. Che si tratti di giornali generalisti o con un dichiarato orientamento politico, di Tg di reti pubbliche o private, di free press o giornali a pagamento, le violazioni sembrano caratterizzare tutte le testate considerate, in misura certamente diversa, ma senza eccezioni radicali.The paper reports the results of a survey that had the intention of determining the extent of any violations of professional conduct relating to the chronicle of immigration. The results show that there is, in the sample considered, a tendency towards dissemination of information potentially damaging to the privacy and dignity of people involved in news events, especially when the news concerns migrants. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed.
