Isolation and Identification of Crude Triacontanol from Rice Bran Wax
In present investigation crude triacontanol was isolated and identified from rice bran wax. Triacontanol was isolated by saponification and extraction method. The obtained mixture is crude Triacontanol. It was analyzed by Gas Chromatography (GC) and melting point method. Purity of triacontanol was 13.33%. 1Department of Botany, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad (M.S.), India; 2Department of Botany, University of Pune, Pune (M.S.), India* Corresponding Author, Email: [email protected] Cite This Article As: Sandhya Jaybhay, Pankaj Chate and Avinash Ade. 2010. Optimal Allocation of Combined DG and Capacitor Units for Voltage Stability Enhancement
AbstractDue to high penetration of distributed generation (DG) in distribution networks, transmission networks are no longer responsible solely for security issues in low-voltage distribution networks. DG units may also participate in security as well as power generation depending on their locations. In this paper, stability of Distribution system is studied based on voltage stability analysis as a security measure. Basic load flow is carried out on the well known 33- bus radial distribution network using forward backward sweep algorithm in MATLAB and voltage stability indices have been calculated. A priority list of DG and capacitor unit allocation for minimization of losses and improvement in voltage magnitude will be evaluated by evolutionary search algorithm i.e. Genetic Algorithm
India's National Population Policy (2000): An Evaluation
professional paper for the fulfillment of the Masters of Public Policy degreeThis paper examines the quality of India’s family planning practice under the National Population Policy (2000) or NPP-2000. The intent of NPP-2000 is to eliminate unmet contraceptive needs by providing high quality reproductive healthcare. In particular, the NPP-2000 aims to address flaws in healthcare infrastructure and to achieve a total fertility rate of 2.1 births per woman by 2010. Unfortunately, the implementation difficulties of past years persist in the era of NPP-2000. Indian families are subject to poorly-trained healthcare personnel and insufficient medical supplies, among other setbacks. Using interviews with family planning professionals and data from quantitative
and qualitative studies, the following analysis exposes widespread variation in the quality of family planning practice. Additionally, the author proposes strategies to address unmet contraceptive needs in northern states and among disadvantaged populations.Agrawal, Sandhya. (2009). Effect of Chitosan on Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus (L.) Moench) Seed Germination
Present paper deals with the effect of chitosan at different concentration on seed germination of okra. It was revealed that chitosan at 0.03%, 0.12%,0.3% and 0.6% concentration induced seed germination in okra while at 0,03% there was maximum seed germination percentage as compare to other treatments. 1Department of Botany, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad- 431 004 (MS), India; 2Department of Chemistry, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad- 431 004 (MS), India; 3Department of Botany, University of Pune, Pune -411 007 (MS), India.* Corresponding Author, Email: [email protected] Cite This Article As: Sandhya Jaybhay, Asha Chate and Avinash B. Evaluation of the Indian Migration Study Physical Activity Questionnaire (IMS-PAQ): a cross-sectional study.
ABSTRACT:
Socio-cultural differences for country-specific activities are rarely addressed in physical activity questionnaires. We examined the reliability and validity of the Indian Migration Study Physical Activity Questionnaire (IMS-PAQ) in urban and rural groups in India.
A sub-sample of IMS participants (n = 479) was used to examine short term (≤1 month [n = 158]) and long term (> 1 month [n = 321]) IMS-PAQ reliability for levels of total, sedentary, light and moderate/vigorous activity (MVPA) intensity using intraclass correlation (ICC) and kappa coefficients (k). Criterion validity (n = 157) was examined by comparing the IMS-PAQ to a uniaxial accelerometer (ACC) worn ≥4 days, via Spearman's rank correlations (ρ) and k, using Bland-Altman plots to check for systematic bias. Construct validity (n = 7,000) was established using linear regression, comparing IMS-PAQ against theoretical constructs associated with physical activity (PA): BMI [kg/m2], percent body fat and pulse rate.
IMS-PAQ reliability ranged from ICC 0.42-0.88 and k = 0.37-0.61 (≤1 month) and ICC 0.26 to 0.62; kappa 0.17 to 0.45 (> 1 month). Criterion validity was ρ = 0.18-0.48; k = 0.08-0.34. Light activity was underestimated and MVPA consistently and substantially overestimated for the IMS-PAQ vs. the accelerometer. Criterion validity was moderate for total activity and MVPA. Reliability and validity were comparable for urban and rural participants but lower in women than men. Increasing time spent in total activity or MVPA, and decreasing time in sedentary activity were associated with decreasing BMI, percent body fat and pulse rate, thereby demonstrating construct validity.
IMS-PAQ reliability and validity is similar to comparable self-reported instruments. It is an appropriate tool for ranking PA of individuals in India. Some refinements may be required for sedentary populations and women in India
Study on System Topologies for Enhancing Potential of Fuel Cell System
Fuel cell is most promising power source for hybrid operation with conventional and non-conventional energy source. This is due to its operating temperature, power matching and remote application. The fuel cell based distributed generator (DG) source can be operated in combined with wind turbine, photovoltaic generation system, gas turbine and many more. The hybrid operation of fuel cell with conventional DG source may increase the reliability, power quality and system stability. This paper presents the review on hybrid operation of fuel cell with other conventional DG system in utility interconnected mode. In this, it is addressed that, the fuel cell and its hybrid operation with other power generation application are given. Also the various controlling techniques can be used for its optimum operation which are also mentione

The authors regret that the legends to Fig. 3 (C, D, and I) and Fig. 4 (B, C, and E) did not originally specify that the values shown are adjusted P values. In addition, the colors used in the bar graph in Fig. 4 B were not correct nor defined. The corrected legends, with new text underlined, and corrected Fig. 4 are shown here.

Atmospheric neutrinos: Status and prospects
AbstractWe present an overview of the current status of neutrino oscillation studies at atmospheric neutrino experiments. While the current data gives some tantalising hints regarding the neutrino mass hierarchy, octant of θ23 and δCP, the hints are not statistically significant. We summarise the sensitivity to these sub-dominant three-generation effects from the next-generation proposed atmospheric neutrino experiments. We next present the prospects of new physics searches such as non-standard interactions, sterile neutrinos and CPT violation studies at these experiments
How it feels: The value and application of physical sensation in XR: Explore Somatosensory experience’s possibility in future XR trends
This research advocates for exploring the somatosensory system and its incorporation within XR systems, particularly in spatial recognition. This paradigm shift could introduce novel methodologies in XR design that perceive the body as a recipient of sensory stimuli and as an active participant in sensory perception. This could redefine our understanding of somatosensory in XR and contribute to a more holistic approach to multisensory design. Additionally, this study aims to examine the deployment of XR in the evaluation of aircraft interior design. The successful integration of XR technologies could potentially revolutionize the design process by presenting a more immersive and authentic user testing environment. In light of the present deficiency in precise spatial recognition within XR applications, this research could offer fresh insights into optimizing XR use in design, thereby improving spatial perception accuracy and enhancing ergonomics and user experience in real-world applications, such as aircraft interior design.Integrated Product Desig
