Progetto Porto Marghera
Dom wewnatrz pokoju : The House Inside A Room
Prolegomena for a Living Architecture
Rational and intuitive can be considered as two sides of the same coin? If they coexist in the design process, what do they
refer to and what do they stand out for? What kind of relationship can be established between the act of prefiguring the work and of
putting it into operation, according to procedures and techniques that are coherent and necessary for its construction? The value of an
architectural project is shown by its being a continuous search for expression of art, even if, as we know, architecture also has a
social function and plays a civil role. The universal meanings and the cultural reference context, which have always been the heritage
of the architectural project, are increasingly taking on a secondary value. Issues and concepts such as: tradition, memory, modernity,
invention and location seem to have lost any research prerogative at the expense of the meaning and use attributed to the architectural
and urban composition in the overall design process
Architecture without details
"For an architetture whithout details" is a sort of a mission statement to bring again architecture and the city in the center of the debate, as a place for ideas and art. But also to stress the strong link between necessity issues and places of imagination.
Quoting Edgar Morin "there is an increasing, deep, serious inadequacy between our separated, broken up knowledges, splitting in conventional disciplines and reality or in issues which keep becoming more polidisciplinar, trasversal, multidimensional".
I think that the essence of the issue is this inadequacy, which Morin denounces, and its overtaking.
The project in architecture, being the result of a cultural-technical-scientific process, represents the top of an intellectual thought able to unify artistic-humanistic disciplines and technical-scientific disciplines.
In the relationship between the project and the techniques you can find a new and antique condition of the scientific research in architecture. The unity depiction-construction defines a culture of the project which should not only solve functional issues, but investigates the essence of construction as a formal process, as a necessary path studying the relationships between an idea of form and its achievement
