Lattice study of ((D)over-bar(1)D*)(+/-) near-threshold scattering
In this exploratory lattice study, low-energy near threshold scattering of the ((D) over bar D-1*)(+/-) meson system is analyzed using lattice QCD with N-f = 2 twisted mass fermion configurations. Both s-wave (J(P) = 0(-)) and p-wave (J(P) = 1(+)) channels are investigated. It is found that the interaction between the two charmed mesons is attractive near the threshold in both channels. This calculation provides some hints in the searching of resonances or bound states around the threshold of ((D) over bar D-1*)(+/-) system.National Science Foundation of China (NSFC) [11335001, 11275169, 11075167, 11105153, 11505132, 11261130311]; Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG); Scientific Research Program - Shanxi Provincial Education Department [15JK1348]SCI(E)[email protected]
A radiation hard bandgap voltage reference for the ARCADIA project
This work presents the design and characterization results of a radiation hard bandgap reference circuit fabricated in a 110 nm CMOS technology for the Main Demonstrator chip of the ARCADIA project. The design, based on a current-mode approach in order to be able to output a smaller than 1.2 V reference voltage, employs diode-connected MOSFETs instead of BJTs to enhance the radiation hardness and a second amplifier to improve the current mirror of the output branch and therefore the line regulation of the circuit. This paper describes the features of the circuit and its measured results
Spin-orbit force, recoil corrections, and possible B(B)over-bar* and D(D)over-bar* molecular states
In the framework of the one-boson exchange model, we have calculated the effective potentials between two heavy mesons B (B) over bar* and D (D) over bar* from the t- and u-channel pi-, eta, rho-, omega-, and sigma-meson exchanges with four kinds of quantum number: I = 0, J(PC) = 1(++); 1 = 0, J(PC) = 1(+-); I = 1, J(PC) = 1(++); I = 1, J(PC) = 1(+-). We keep the recoil corrections to the B (B) over bar* and D (D) over bar* systems up to O(1/m(2)) The spin-orbit force appears at O(1/M), which turns out to be important for the very loosely bound molecular states. Our numerical results show that the momentum-related corrections are unfavorable to the formation of the molecular states in the I = 0, J(PC) = 1(++) and I = 1, J(PC) = 1(+-) channels in the D (D) over bar* system.Astronomy & AstrophysicsPhysics, Particles & FieldsSCI(E)[email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]
Z(c)(3900) as a (D)over-barD* molecule from the pole counting rule
A comprehensive study on the nature of the Zc(3900) resonant structure is carried out in this work. By constructing the pertinent effective Lagrangians and considering the important final-state-interaction effects, we first give a unified description to all the relevant experimental data available, including the J/psi pi and pi invariant mass distributions from the e(+)e(-) -> J/psi pi process, the h(c)pi distribution from e(+)e(-) -> h(c)pi pi, and also the D (D) over bar* spectrum in the e(+)e(-) -> D (D) over bar*pi process. After fitting the unknown parameters to the previous data, we search the pole in the complex energy plane and find only one pole in the nearby energy region in different Riemann sheets. Therefore, we conclude that Z(c)(3900) is of D (D) over bar* molecular nature, according to the pole counting rule method [Nucl. Phys. A543, 632 (1992); Phys. Rev. D 35, 1633 (1987)]. We emphasize that the conclusion based upon the pole counting method is not trivial, since both the D (D) over bar* contact interactions and the explicit Z(c) exchanges are introduced in our analyses andNational Nature Science Foundations of China (NSFC) [10925522, 11021092, 11575052, 11105038]; Natural Science Foundation of Hebei Province [A2015205205]; inoGerman Collaborative Research Center "Symmetries and the Emergence of Structure in QCD" [CRC 110]; DFG; NSFCSCI(E)ARTICLE119

B meson semi-inclusive decay to spin-triplet D-wave charmonium in NRQCD
We study the B meson semi-inclusive decays into spin-triplet D-wave chamonium states psi(J)( J = 1, 2, 3) based on the nonrelativistic QCD factorization formula at next-to-leading order in alpha(s) and leading order in v (the relative velocity of charm quark and antiquark in charmonium). The finite short-distance coefficients for D-3(J)[1] channels are obtained for the first time. The long-distance matrix elements are estimated with the help of potential model and QCD evolution equations. The branching ratios Br(B -> psi X-1) and Br(B -> psi X-2) are, respectively, predicted to be about 6 x 10(-4) and 2 x 10(-3), with about 50% relative errors mainly coming from the uncertainties of long-distance matrix elements. The branching ratio Br(B -> psi X-3) can be very small due to a possible cancellation between the S-3(1)[8] and P-3(2)[8] channels. As an optimistic estimate, we may use the S-3(1)[8] channel alone to set up the upper limit for Br(B -> psi X-3), which is about 4 x 10(-4) and may be used in searching for the missing state psi(3).National Natural Science Foundation of China [11075002, 11021092, 11475005]; National Key Basic Research Program of China [2015CB856700]SCI(E)ARTICLE119
Delivering public sector efficiencies: The potential role of capability maturity models in construction
This paper is aimed at identifying the potential role of SPICE,
especially SPICE level 3, to achieving the proposed UK public sector
efficiencies. SPICE level 3 presents the process maturity framework to
address the level III of the SPICE model. Building upon the developments
of level II, SPICE 3 advocates establishment of a process improvement
infrastructure to facilitate good practice sharing in construction
organisations. The paper highlights the recommendations of Gershon
reviews, in order to achieve the proposed UK public sector efficiencies. The
potential benefits of SPICE level 3 is identified and further research in this
regard is suggested
D-wave heavy-light mesons from QCD sum rules
We study the D-wave (c) over bars heavy meson doublets (1(-), 2(-)) and (2(-), 3(-)) using the method of QCD sum rule in the framework of heavy quark effective theory. Choosing the same threshold values.c around 2.7 Gev, we calculate the masses of the 1(-) and 3(-) states. They are m(D*s1) = 2.81 +/- 0.10 GeV and m(D*s3) = 2.85 +/- 0.08 GeV, consistent with the newly observed D*(s1)(2860) and D*(s3)(2860) states by LHCb. The masses of their 2-partners are calculated to be 2.82 +/- 0.10 and 2.81 +/- 0.08 GeV. The mass splittings within the same doublet are calculated to be m(Ds2) - m(Ds1) = 0.016 +/- 0.007 GeV and m(D*s3) - m(D's2) = 0.039 +/- 0.014 GeV.Astronomy & AstrophysicsPhysics, Particles & FieldsSCI(E)[email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]

Low-energy scattering of the (D*(D)over-bar*)(+/-) system and the resonancelike structure Z(c)(4025)
In this paper, low-energy scattering of the (D*(D) over bar*)(+/-) meson system is studied within Luscher's finite-size formalism using N-f = 2 twisted-mass gauge field configurations. With three different pion mass values, the s-wave threshold scattering parameters-namely the scattering length a(0) and the effective range r(0)-are extracted in the J(PC) = 1(+-) channel. Our results indicate that, in this particular channel, the interaction between the two vector charmed mesons is weakly repulsive in nature and hence it does not support the possibility of a shallow bound state for the two mesons, at least for the pion mass values being studied. However, these results might suffer from undetermined systematic errors due to low-lying states ignored in this exploratory study. Still, it provides some useful information on the nature of the newly discovered resonance-like structure Z(c)(4025) observed in various experiments.National Science Foundation of China (NSFC) [11335001, 11275169, 11405178, 11105153]; DFG; NSFC [11261130311]; National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program) [2015CB856700]; Youth Innovation Promotion Association of CAS [2013013, 2011013]SCI(E)[email protected]
