Includes bibliographical references.This work describes the development of an integrated sensors system to measure concentrations of dissolved oxygen (DO), pH, glucose, and lactate concurrently at single cell level. DO was measured amperometrically using a three-electrode system of working (WE), counter (CE) and reference (RE) electrodes. pH was measured potentiometrically using two electrodes system of Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) WE and Ag/AgCl RE. Glucose and lactate were measured enzymatically by measuring the current generated from the oxidation of hydrogen peroxide generated from the catalysis of glucose or lactate at the WEs with their catalysis enzymes. A microfluidic chamber containing all four sensors was made using SU8 to investigate single oocytes/embryos immersed in up to 120 µL of respiration buffer. This work includes the results of using the integrated sensors system to measure the metabolic activities of real cells including single oocytes or embryos. The micro-chamber was completely sealed using top layer of ovoil and covered by top glass lid to avoid oxygen exchange between the inside of the chamber and the atmosphere, while being maintained at a temperature of 38.5 ºC to preserve cell viability. The oxygen consumption of cells, the lactate production and glucose consumptions were measured as a change in output current and converted to femto-mol (fmol) per second based on calibrations with buffer of known DO, lactate, and lactate concentrations. This integrated sensor system has some potential applications include evaluating effects of metabolic therapies on oocyte bioenergetics, study the effect of aging on embryos development and monitoring mitochondrial function throughout oocyte maturation and blastocyst development to predict embryo viability to compliment assisted reproductive technologies.Undergraduate Choice - Research Top Scholar

The focus of this study is to examine the design development of multicultural value-based Islamic education learning models at the high school level. This research is qualitative research. Data collection is done by observation, interview, and documentation. While the data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation, data verification, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that, the design of the development of the learning model that determined multicultural values, which were integrated in the Islamic Religious Education subject, b) syllabus, c) lesson plan, d) used the Islamic education learning model based on multicultural values, and c) conducted an assessment towards the process of learning activities, which is a follow-up to learning, the approach to developing learning models, namely the approach to justice and equality without discrimination, called cultural pluralism, which provides opportunities and freedom for all elements to show and develop their respective identities, both from language, ethnicity, religion and so on. While developing models of Islamic education learning based on multicultural values because; a) multicultural education is not a special subject, b) promotes equality between students of different backgrounds, c) the diversity of students that causes misunderstandings that can lead to disputes between fellow students.

A product formula for certain Littlewood-Richardson coefficients for Jack and Macdonald polynomials
Jack polynomials generalize several classical families of symmetric polynomials, including Schur polynomials, and are further generalized by Macdonald polynomials. In 1989, Richard Stanley conjectured that if the Littlewood-Richardson coefficient for a triple of Schur polynomials is 1, then the corresponding coefficient for Jack polynomials can be expressed as a product of weighted hooks of the Young diagrams associated to the partitions indexing the coefficient. We prove a special case of this conjecture in which the partitions indexing the Littlewood-Richardson coefficient have at most 3 parts. The novel Inna Ma\u27al Ausri Yusra is one of the novels that will be discussed more deeply related to the value of faith. The values of faith that will be studied are related to divine values, prophecy, ruhiyat, and samiyat. The method of this research is library research using descriptive analysis method. Based on the results of the analysis of the divine aspect, the author describes Fatimah\u27s faith and piety who has experienced trials and tests. From the aspect of prophecy, the author describes it implicitly and explicitly in the story, about Fatima\u27s determination to achieve high faith even though trials and suffering always befall her, she is guided by the story of the Prophet Muhammad. From the rihiyyat aspect, there is a belief in this value. Azwar is wrong. He believes in spirits. He uses his knowledge to manipulate his patients to comply with their wishes. From the sam\u27iyat aspect, it is illustrated in the story through the Koran, there are five letters consisting of five hadiths that support the arguments of the Koran so that the story has a strong legal basis

Penggunaan model pembelajaran Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) Berbantuan Modul merupakan alternatif untuk memperbaiki masalah ini.Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui: (1) penerapan model pembelajaran Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) Berbantuan Modul yang optimal pada mata pelajaran Menggambar PerangkatLunak di SMK Nasional Malang, (2) aktivitas belajar siswa kelas X Teknik Gambar Bangunan SMK Nasional Malang pada mata pelajaran Menggambar Perangkat Lunak setelah penerapan Model Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) Berbantuan Modul, dan (3) hasil belajar siswa kelas X Teknik Gambar Bangunan SMK Nasional Malang pada mata pelajaran Menggambar Perangkat Lunak setelah penerapan Model Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) Berbantuan Modul. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui tes, observasi, catatan lapangan dan dokumentasi. Data yang dianalisis dalam penelitian ini adalah nilai tes dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis diskriptif.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) penerapan model pembelajaranStudent Team Achievement Division (STAD) Berbantuan Modul pada mata pelajaran menggambar dengan perangkat lunak, yaitu: (a) menyampaikan materi, (b) membagi kelompok, mengarahkan siswa bekerjasama, memfasilitasi siswa membaca modul, membahas hasil kerja kelompok, (c) memberikan kuis individu, (d) menghitung skor kemajuan individual siswa, dan (e) memberi penghargaan tim terbaik. (2) aktivitas belajar siswa meningkat dengan penerapan model pembelajaran Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) BerbantuanModul, persentase aktivitas pratindakan sebesar 49% naik menjadi 79,5% pada siklus I dan terus meningkat pada siklus II dengan persentase 91,32%. This study uses classroom action research. Techniques of collecting data through tests, observations, field notes and documentation. The data analyzed in this research is the test value is done by using descriptive analysis. The results of the study showed: (1) the application of learning model of Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) Assisted Module on drawing subject with software, that is: (a) delivering material, (b) divide group, direct student cooperate, facilitate student reading module, Discuss the results of group work, (c) provide individual quizzes, (d) calculate individual progress scores, and (e) award the best team. (2) student learning activity increase with application of Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) Module-assisted learning model, the percentage of pre-action activity by 49% rose to 79,5% in cycle I and continue to increase in cycle II with percentage 91,32%. (3) student learning outcomes increased with the application of Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) Module-Assisted model, percentage pre-action completeness of 12.9%, then increased in cycle I with the percentage of mastery by 20% and in cycle II has increased With 87.5% percentage.
Effect Of Vitamin D Supplements In Improving Glycemic Control In Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of Vitamin D supplements in improving glycemic control in Type 2 Diabetic patients
It was a Quasi-Experimental trial conducted at the Department of Chemical Pathology of Fauji Foundation Hospital Rawalpindi, from Sep 2019 to December 2019.
Method:100 patients between the ages of 20-65 years with serum 25(OH)D conc <25nmol/L and HbA1c >8.0% were given 200000 IU of vitamin D for 3 months and then their Vitamin D and hbA1c levels were compared with the baseline.
Results: The average alterations in HbA1c associated with initial Vitamin D levels of ≤ 40 nmol/L were 8.440 ± 1.787, subsequently reducing to 7.373 ± 1.093 after three months, demonstrating a statistically significant p-value of 0.000. Similarly, for individuals with initial Vitamin D levels > 40 nmol/L, the mean changes in HbA1c were 8.644 ± 1.928 initially, transforming to 7.551 ± 1.047 after three months, with a statistically significant p-value of 0.000.
Conclusion: The inclusion of Vitamin D supplements in conjunction with conventional anti-diabetic medications and exogenous insulin demonstrates an improvement the glycemic status of diabetic patients, as indicated by a reduction in HbA1c levels
Profile of complementary food consumption during the first year of life based on Indonesia Individual Food Consumption Survey 2014
Background: In Indonesia, though the recommendation to start complementary foods (CF) is at six months, mothers do not comply with this recommendation. Methods: Data from Indonesia Individual Food Consumption Survey (IFCS) 2014 of 1,514 infants aged 0-11 months was used for this study. The profiles of CF consumption during the first year of life, including frequency of consumption, types of CF, timely introduction and nutritional contents of CF were determined. Mothers were interviewed at home to determine infant intake using 24-hour dietary recall. The IFCS classified CF as home-made or manufactured. Nutrient contents were calculated using several sources. Nutrient intakes from CF for 6-11 months were compared with WHO (2001) and Dewey (2001) recommendations. Results: There were 19.2% early and 3.2% late introduction of CF. Homemade complementary foods were widely consumed. Frequency of consumption of CF among 82.7% of infants aged 6-8 month was 2-3 times per day. Intake of fat, iron, zinc and calcium from CF were inadequate in 75.5%, 86.6%, 72.9% and 60.3% respectively among infants aged 6-8 months. Inadequate intake of fat, protein, iron, zinc and calcium were also found among infants aged 9-11 months. Inadequate intake of vitamin D was also found in 89.5% and 88.7% of infants in each age group. Excessive sodium intake was found in 37.2% and 49.3% of infants in each age groups. Conclusion: While untimely complementary feeding introduction was found, greater concern was for inadequate intake of several key nutrients and excess intake of sodium among Indoensian infants. d-GDM: A mobile diagnostic decision support system for gestational diabetes
ABSTRACT Objective The aim of the study is to describe a portable and convenient software to facilitate the diagnostics of gestational (GDM) and pre-gestational diabetes (PGDM). Materials and methods An open source software, d-GDM, was developed in Java. The integrated development environment Android Studio was used as the Android operational system. The software for GDM diagnosis uses the criteria endorsed by the International Association of Diabetes and Pregnancy Study Group, modified by the World Health Organization. Results GDM diagnosis criteria is not simple to follow, therefore, errors or inconsistencies in diagnosis are expected and could delay the appropriate treatment. The d-GDM, was developed to assist GDM diagnosis with precision and consistency diagnostic reports. The open source software can be manipulated conveniently. The operator requires information regarding the gestational period and selects the appropriate glycaemic marker options from the menu. During operation, pressing the button “diagnosticar” on the screen will present the diagnosis and information for the follow up. d-GDM is available in Portuguese or English and can be downloaded from the Google PlayStore. A responsive web version of d-GDM is also available. The usefulness and accuracy of d-GDM was verify by field tests involving 22 subjects and 5 mobile phone brands. The approval regards user-friendliness and efficiency were 95% or higher. The GDM diagnosis were 100% correct, in this pilot test. d-GDM is a user-friendly, free software for diagnosis that was developed for mobile devices. It has the potential to contribute and facilitate the diagnosis of gestational diabetes for healthcare professionals.</div

The Role of Vitamin D Supplementation Before Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting in Preventing Postoperative Atrial Fibrillation in Patients With Vitamin D Deficiency or Insufficiency: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
This study aims to evaluate the role of preoperative vitamin D supplementation before coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery in preventing postoperative atrial fibrillation (POAF) in vitamin D deficient or insufficient patients. Three randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comprising 448 subjects were selected after a detailed search was conducted on PubMed, Cochrane CENTRAL, Scopus, and Embase in December 2022. Analysis was run using RevMan (version 5.4.1; Copenhagen: The Nordic Cochrane Centre, The Cochrane Collaboration, 2014). The analysis collected risk ratio (RR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) data from the relevant studies, which were then pooled using a random effects model. A significance level of less than 0.05 (p<0.05) was considered significant. Our analysis showed that compared with the standard of care, preoperative vitamin D supplementation in vitamin D deficient and insufficient patients effectively reduced POAF after CABG surgery (RR=0.6, 95% CI=0.4-0.9, P=0.01). There was no significant difference in the duration of hospitalization between the vitamin D supplementation group compared with the control following CABG (mean difference -0.85, 95% CI -2.13 to 0.43, P = 0.19). This meta-analysis shows that preoperative vitamin D supplementation in vitamin D deficient and insufficient patients undergoing CABG can reduce the rate of POAF. As POAF is associated with many complications, providing vitamin D supplementation to individuals with a vitamin D deficiency undergoing CABG can improve long-term cardiovascular outcomes following surgery
