No full textThe focus of my research is the Latin-language chorography of Hungary, Regni Hungariae Archaeologiae libri tres, by Wolfgang Lazius, a 16th-century Viennese humanist and true polymath, who devoted his life to historiography and cartography, in addition to medicine. He was an extremely prolific author, but he did not leave behind any theoretical works of a medical nature, but rather made a name for himself as a cartographer and historian. Although many studies of Lazius' work have been written, they focus mainly on his cartographic activities. Of the historical writings that make up the bulk of his oeuvre, those that have been published in print have been examined, and those that survive in manuscript have been the focus of research in the last decade. The significance of the dissertation lies in the fact that it examines one of Lazius' surviving manuscripts, a text which has escaped the attention of both Hungarian and international scholars precisely because of its manuscript nature

On the Manuscript(s) of Lazius’ Description of Transylvania
No full textThe upsurge of cosmographical and geographical literature can be seen in humanist circles from the 14th century onwards. Beside chorography, the encomium of towns and cities was also a popular genre; some elements of ethnography, natural, economic and political geography were also built into the histography. A century later, this tendency reached Hungary and the social aspiration to presentation of the country appeared in Hungary too. Owing to these factors, chorography of Hungary was written by Miklós Oláh; humanist historians (for instance Antonio Bonfini) also incorporeted geographical digression into their work. Not only descriptions of Hungary, but some geographical descriptions of Transilvania were made in the second half of the 16th century; one of these was written by a 16 th century Viennese humanist polyhistor, Wolfgang Lazius. The purpose of this paper is to provide a description of the three textual variants of the manuscript of the Transylvania-description by Lazius, to explore their relationship to each other, and to establish their order of composition

The Role of Radiomics in Salivary Gland Imaging: A Systematic Review and Radiomics Quality Assessment
No full textBackground: Radiomics of salivary gland imaging can support clinical decisions in different clinical scenarios, such as tumors, radiation-induced xerostomia and sialadenitis. This review aims to evaluate the methodological quality of radiomics studies on salivary gland imaging. Material and Methods: A systematic search was performed, and the methodological quality was evaluated using the radiomics quality score (RQS). Subgroup analyses according to the first author’s professional role (medical or not medical), journal type (radiological journal or other) and the year of publication (2021 or before) were performed. The correlation of RQS with the number of patients was calculated. Results: Twenty-three articles were included (mean RQS 11.34 ± 3.68). Most studies well-documented the imaging protocol (87%), while neither prospective validations nor cost-effectiveness analyses were performed. None of the included studies provided open-source data. A statistically significant difference in RQS according to the year of publication was found (p = 0.009), with papers published in 2021 having slightly higher RQSs than older ones. No differences according to journal type or the first author’s professional role were demonstrated. A moderate relationship between the overall RQS and the number of patients was found. Conclusions: Radiomics application in salivary gland imaging is increasing. Although its current clinical applicability can be affected by the somewhat inadequate quality of the papers, a significant improvement in radiomics methodologies has been demonstrated in the last year
Beszámoló a XVIII. Pedagógiai Értékelési Konferenciáról
No full textTizennyolcadik alkalommal rendezték meg (2022. április 21-től április 23-ig) a Pedagógiai Értékelési Konferenciát (PÉK) Szegeden. A kétnyelvű rendezvény célja, hogy a pedagógiai értékelés iránt érdeklődő hazai és nemzetközi közönség számára lehetőséget teremtsen a szakmai diskurzusra. A konferencia gyökerei a szegedi műhely néven ismert, Nagy József és tanítványai körül kialakult kutatóközösségben keresendők, illetve az 1991-ben elindult pedagógiai értékelési szakértő szakos egyetemi képzéshez kapcsolódnak. Az esemény elődjének az említett szak végzett hallgatói és tanárai számára szervezett baráti szakmai találkozó tekinthető, amelyet Csapó Benő kezdeményezett 2003-ban. A konferencia kezdetben meghívásos rendszerben működött, de 2006 óta a nemzetközi normáknak megfelelő bírálati rendszer alapján fogadják el a benyújtott absztraktokat. A konferenciára szimpóziummal, tematikus előadással és poszterrel lehetett jelentkezni. A Tudományos Programbizottság által felkért két-két bíráló meghatározott szempontrendszer szerint véleményezte a benyújtott anyagokat. A konferencián a pedagógiai értékeléshez köthető elméleti előadások, empirikus vizsgálatok, fejlesztő programok, pedagógiai kísérletek és innovatív oktatási módszerek mutathatók be a köz- és felsőoktatáshoz kapcsolódóan. A konferencián összesen tíz angol és tizenkét magyar nyelvű szekcióban hangzottak el az előadások. A két és fél napos eseményen több mint 80 tudományos előadást hallgathattak meg a résztvevők. A konferencián bemutatott előadások, fejlesztő módszerek, vizsgálatok, innovatív eljárások a tudományos alapokra építkező pedagógiai értékelés széles spektrumát fedték le. A bírálati rendszer biztosította a konferencián elhangzott beszámolók magas minőségét
