    The bachelor thesis examines marketing and communication outcomes of the cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com at major sporting events between the years 2021 and 2022. Since the issue of cryptocurrencies and blockchain is not generally known at present, the theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to this topic. In the initial three chapters, I present, according to the market capitalization parameter, the main cryptocurrencies that Crypto.com has in its portfolio. Part of the excursion into the world of virtual currencies is also an insight into the nature of the blockchain and its potential use in marketing. The practical part is represented by a content study that analyzes media and sponsorship partnerships between Crypto.com and brands in the field of professional sports. Individual fragments are analyzed primarily in connection with Morning Consult's research, which examined the relationship of sports fans with cryptocurrencies and blockchain. In the second part of the research, the advertising outputs of the 2022 Super Bowl cryptocurrency exchange competitors and their impact on the current competitive market position are described. The thesis concludes with suggestions and findings that arise from the stated research questions.Bakalářská práce zkoumá marketingové a komunikační výstupy kryptoměnové směnárny Crypto.com na významných sportovních akcích mezi lety 2021 a 2022. Jelikož problematika kryptoměn a blockchainu v současnosti není obecně známá, věnuje se jí teoretická část práce. V úvodních třech kapitolách představuji dle parametru tržní kapitalizace hlavní kryptoměny, které má Crypto.com ve svém portfoliu. Součástí exkurze do světa virtuálních měn je také vhled do podstaty fungování blockchainu a jeho potenciálního využití v marketingu. Praktická část je reprezentována obsahovou studií, která analyzuje mediální a sponzorská partnerství mezi Crypto.com a značkami na poli profesionálního sportu. Jednotlivé fragmenty jsou analyzovány primárně v návaznosti na výzkum společnosti Morning Consult, který mapoval vztah sportovních fanoušků ke kryptoměnám a blockchainu. Ve druhé části jsou vlastní obsahovou analýzou popsány reklamní výstupy konkurence z řad kryptoměnovcýh směnáren v rámci Super Bowlu z roku 2022 a jejich vliv na aktuální konkurenční postavení na trhu.     Blockchain tehnologija nastaje 2009. godine i od tada se nezaustavljivo implementira u čitav niz industrija. Jedna od njih je i sportska industrija 21. stoljeća u kojoj prednosti blockchain tehnologije dolaze do izražaja. Blockchain je u svojoj suštini baza podataka, odnosno, javna knjiga koja bilježi sve transakcije i u kojima “treća strana“ ne mora potvrditi svoju aktivnost. Distribuira se preko P2P mreže, a svako računalo u mreži ima kopiju ‘glavne knjige’ kako bi se povećala sigurnost, efikasnost i transparentnost. Ovo su ujedno i karakteristike zašto blockchain tehnologiju sve više koristi sportska industrija. Klubovi, igrači, navijači, menadžeri, svi imaju koristi od ove tehnologije.     In 2021, the cryptocurrency exchange platform Crypto.com bought the naming rights to the Staples Center, home of the Los Angeles Lakers, and the stadium was renamed Crypto.com Arena by the year's end. An analysis of posts on the subject on the social media platform Reddit shows a highly polarized reaction to this change: for Lakers fans and the wider basketball community, the name change became a moment for nostalgic looking back, memorializing an iconic era in Lakers history associated with the late Kobe Bryant. For cryptocurrency proponents, it served largely as a symbol of a bright financial and technological future just around the corner. Ultimately, however, both communities' reactions to the change demonstrate a tense relationship to the branded stadium that is in need of constant renegotiation and redefinition as dictated by the ebbs and flows of capital. Examining the Staples Center/Crypto.com Arena as a site for contested readings between these invested communities shows how the stadium and its name serve as a battleground for the formation of identity within late capitalism

    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.     Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

    We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods
