    El presente artículo pretende incentivar al lector de manera tal que pueda adoptar una nueva visión y comprensión de la importancia del derecho notarial en la actualidad. En efecto, el notariado siempre ha estado asociado a paradigmas dogmáticos relacionados con cuestiones eminentemente técnicas y prácticas, que permiten avizorar una clara comprensión formularia de la actividad fedante. Pero el notario en los tiempos actuales cumple una misión mucho más relevante inclusive, que la que lo relaciona con la actividad creadora del documento. Y se trata de la puesta en vigencia de los valores de verdad (fe), justicia y seguridad jurídica preventiva a través de la concreción de los deberes éticos notariales aplicados, que ocurren antes y durante la conformación documental, todos analizados desde una corriente innovadora para este tipo de disciplina: la perspectiva realista clásica. Para ello, es indispensable comprender cuál es la misión del notario en los tiempos actuales, y de qué manera a través de la prudencia puede consolidar una argumentación del derecho que sea omnicomprensiva de reglas, de normas y de principios que se captan por evidencia

    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed.     Mechanical characterization of biological membranes with moirè techniques and multi-point simulated annealing

    This paper describes an hybrid procedure for mechanical characterization of biological membranes. The in-plane displacement field of a glutaraldehyde treated bovine pericardium patch obtained with an equi-biaxial tension test is measured with intrinsic moiré and then compared with finite element predictions. Preliminary analysis of moiré patterns observed in the experiments justifies the assumption of the constitutive model based on transversely isotropic hyperelasticity. In order to determine the 16 hyperelastic constants included in the constitutive model and the fiber orientation, the difference Ω between displacement values measured with moiré and their counterpart determined numerically is minimized by means of multi-level and multi-point simulated annealing. Results clearly demonstrate the efficiency of the identification procedure presented in this research: in fact, residual difference between experimental data and numerical values of in-plane displacements is less than 2%. In order to validate the entire identification process, another experimental test is conducted by inflating the same specimen. Out-of-plane displacements, now measured with projection moiré, are compared with predictions of a new finite element model reproducing the experimental test. The 16 hyper-elastic constants previously determined are given in input to the inflation test FE model. Remarkably, experimental and numerical results are again in excellent agreement: maximum percent error on w-displacement is less than 3%. © Society for Experimental Mechanics 2008

    Changing the surface properties with a “click”: functionalization of DLP-printed structures exploiting residual acrylate functions

    The presence of residual acrylate functions on the surface of DLP-printed objects produced from formulations containing multifunctional monomers is here taken as a potential advantage for postfunctionalization purposes. The unreacted acrylates exposed on the surface of printed parts are used as active sites for surface-modification, exploiting the selectivity of the aza-Michael and thiol–ene “click” reactions towards C=C bonds and their ability to yield regiospecific products under mild conditions. By following this versatile approach, the surface wettability is easily tuned by grafting either hydrophobic or hydrophilic functionalities. This allows achieving surfaces with water contact angles ranging from ∼22° to ∼106°, by simply playing with the surface chemistry but starting from the same DLP-printed substrate. Also, surface thiolation is explored to generate an active interface suitable for the surface-anchoring of photogenerated AgNPs. Such a strategy of post-printing functionalization may further extend the possibilities given by 3Dprinting, because it can allow the implementation of special functions to printed parts without the need to introduce any additional component to the printable formulation

    Variations on the Author

    “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.
