    No full text
This article aims to analyse Montale’s translation of Corneille’s Le Cid (1960), which represents an isolated case in Montale’s corpus of literary translations. The metrical analysis especially concerns the choice of verses and the use of rhyme, while the stylistic analysis points out three fundamental tendencies of Montale’s translation: variatio, enjambement and expressive concentration. The same stylistic features can be perceived in his other translations, especially in those of English poems which are part of Quaderno di traduzioni. This enables us to consider them as stylistic or methodological traits of Montale’s translations applied to verses written in different eras and languages, and belonging to different literary genres.PAROLE CHIAVEMontale; Traduzione; Corneille; Cid.</p

The figure of Marie Krysinska, a French poet of Polish origin who lived between the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, is at the crossroads between the metrical problem of French free verse and the cultural problem of women’s place in the history of literature. After an introduction about the relation between women’s poetry and free verse in France at the end of the 19th century, this article presents Marie Krysinska and her querelle with Gustave Kahn about the invention of French free verse. The following pages aim to develop a comparison between Kahn and Krysinska from both a theoretic point of view and a poetic one, in light of the most recent studies on the evolution of French poetic forms. While on the one hand their theoretical writings show some important similarities, due to their common symbolist background, on the other hand some formal differences in their poems prove that they followed two different ways of using the free verse and explain the difficulties of understanding Krysinska’s poems. The last part of the article resumes the development of the “Krysinska case” in literary studies: violently attacked by critics at the beginning of the 20th century, forgotten by scholars for about fifty years, Krysinska has been rediscovered and reevaluated only in the nineties, and it is now possible to recognize her importance in the literary context of her time, as well as the value of her poetic production

Il capitolo III è dedicato agli autori francesi: Jules Laforgue, Gustave Kahn, Jean Moréas, Jean Ajalbert, Albert Mockel, Édouard Dujardin, Francis Vielé-Griffin. Nel capitolo IV vengono invece affrontati gli autori italiani: Luigi Capuana, Giovanni Alfredo Cesareo, Gian Pietro Lucini, Alberto Sormani, Mario Morasso, Ada Negri, Romolo Quaglino, Agostino John Sinadino, Umberto Saffiotti, Angiolo Orvieto

    Reachability Analysis in Boxed Ambients

    No full text
The decidability of reachability for pure public Mobile Ambients (i.e. without communication and restriction) has been recently investigated in [5], where a characterization of a maximal deacidable fragment is provided. A peculiar feature of such a fragment is the absence of the open capability for ambient dissolution. In this paper we analyse reachability in Boxed Ambients [2], the most relevant variant of Mobile Ambients in which the open capability is dropped and replaced by a sophisticated parent/child form of communication. The main novelties with respect to [5] are: (i) the definition of a more general notion of reachability (called target reachability); (ii) the proof of the decidability of target reachability for a richer calculus also comprising parent/child communication

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
