Meromorphic traveling wave solutions of the complex cubic-quintic Ginzburg-Landau equation
We look for singlevalued solutions of the squared modulus M of the traveling wave reduction of the complex cubic-quintic Ginzburg-Landau equation. Using Clunie's lemma, we first prove that any meromorphic solution M is necessarily elliptic or degenerate elliptic. Bibliometric analysis of the articles published in the Rawal Medical Journal between 2008 and 2019
Objective: To present bibliometric analysis of the articles published in Rawal Medical Journal (RMJ) from 2008 to2019.Methodology: We used the Scopus database, during the months of August and September 2020, for the retrieval and analysis of RMJ publications. We downloaded the retrieved dataset in the Comma Separated Values (CSV) format and transferred the file to a Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet for analysis. We also compared the citations of top 10 most cited RMJ publications in the Scopus to the Google Scholar citations. Results: A total of 1,487 articles were found, published in 12 volumes and 42 issues, with an average of 3.91 pages per document. The articles published in RMJ received 1,003 citations in the Scopus database with an impact of 0.67 citations per article. The Shifa International Hospital, Islamabad was the most contributing organization with 82 publications and Ashfaq Ahmed was the most contributing author with 21 publications. The authors, outside Pakistan, belonged to 31 countries and Jordan was ranked first with 119 publications. Conclusion: A promising growth in the number of publications in RMJ is observed during last 12 years. However, there is a dire need to encourage authors to write on innovative ideas in collaboration with international researchers to enhance the citation impact of articles published in the journa
Singularity methods for meromorphic solutions of differential equations
Consider an N -th order algebraic ordinary differential equation (ODE) for u(x) which may or may not possess the Painleve´ property (PP), defined as the absence of movable critical singularities in the general solution, a singularity being called “critical” if multivaluedness takes place around it. This does not prevent the existence of particular solutions obeying a lower order ODE with the PP. Let us therefore address the problem to find all such solutions (i.e. without movable critical singularities) in closed form. Orthogonal polynomials with respect to a differential operator. Existence and uniqueness

We study the question of uniqueness of the sequence of orthogonal polynomials arising from this construction. As we show, this problem is related to the analytic properties of the fundamental system of solutions of the operator. The notion of T-system of Tchebyshev plays a key role in the analysis. Closed-form meromorphic solutions of some third order boundary layer ordinary differential equations
International audienceWe introduce a general third order non-linear autonomous ODE which covers many ODEs coming from boundary layer problems, like the Falkner-Skan equation and the Cheng-Minkowycz equation. Using Wiman-Valiron theory and complex analytic methods recently developed, for the generic cases, it is shown that all their meromorphic solutions must be rational, or rational in one exponential, and then we find all of them explicitly. For a few non-generic cases, some solutions, which are meromorphic or singlevalued, are also obtained. Our results also explain why it is so difficult to obtain new closed-form solutions of the Falkner-Skan equation
Can the concept of “lean management” be applied to academic recruitment? – a quasi-theoretical discourse
This paper seeks to emphasise the need to re-evaluate university teacher recruitment processes.The implementation of lean processes helps to improve organisational practices; in the case of universityrecruitment, however, organisational processes have remained unchanged for decades. Although there is atraditional justification for having academic recruitment as a rigorous and complex process (as a practicedmethod by which to identify the most suitable applicants), the increase of competition across the sector, andthe internet revolution, has rendered these older methods partially ineffective. The author argues thatrecruitment systems and practices need reviewing to overhaul inefficacious elements
Topical application of heparin for the correction of ocular surface lesions

The article considers historical aspects of topical application of heparin in ophthalmology, it provides the description of anti-inflammatory action mechanism of heparin. The study describes in detail the indications for application of heparin ointment or heparin eye-drops in mono- or complex-therapy of dry eye syndrome, traumatic and burn keratitis, in some types of keratopathy. The experience of Russian and foreign researchers is analyzed (51 source in total). The author comes to the conclusion that topical use of heparin is pathogenically justified in the treatment of different inflammatory, dystrophic and degenerative conditions of ocular surface. Special attention is given to the treatment of patients with corneal burn. Disinfectant properties of heparin were found to be useful for etiotropic treatment of the patients with conjunctivitis or keratitis in mono- or combined therapy. The new drug forms of heparin, such as ocular ointment and eye drops, enable to choose the dose of the drug individually and accurately for the patients with different pathology of ocular surface, thus personifying the treatment.
