"For author Mulligan Sepúlveda, the son and husband of Spanish-speaking immigrants, the battle for immigration reform is personal. Mulligan Sepúlveda writes of visiting border detention centers, defending undocumented immigrants in court, and taking his services to JFK to represent people being turned away at the gates during Trump's infamous travel ban"-
Low life & high jinks: race, ethnicity, and politics in Edward Harrigan's Mulligan Guard plays, 1879-1883
To understand the nuances, contradictions, and levels of agency in immigrant and African-American working class communities, this thesis examines the musical theater of Edward Harrigan, an American playwright whose plays were novel for their sympathetic portrayals of working-class Irish immigrants. I analyze three of Harrigan’s popular plays in his Mulligan Guard series, the Mulligan Guard Ball, the Mulligan Guard Nominee, and Cordelia’s Aspirations. Due to Harrigan’s emphasis on realism, the plays offer insight into the complex racial and ethnic negotiations and political machinations of the working class in Gilded Age New York. I contend that they illustrate contestations over shared urban space between the Irish, Germans, and African Americans, where they engage in dialectic relationships that swayed from friendship to animosity, from collaboration to rivalry. The plays also illuminate working-class perspectives of Tammany’s political machine. Juxtaposed against middle-brow representations of the machine in political cartoons by Thomas Nast and Joseph Keppler, Harrigan’s works show the machine as an important avenue of social mobility rather than as a threat to American republicanism. Harrigan’s plays show complexity in interethnic relations while offering subtle critiques of Tammany’s excesses and demonstrate the importance of practical politics over ideology for the working class.M.A.Includes bibliographical referencesIncludes vitaby Sean Patrick Boyl
Use of Mulligan Mobilization Techniques in Patients with Distortion of Ankle Joint
Title: Use of Mulligan Mobilization Techniques in Patients with Distortion of Ankle Joint Abstract: This bachelor thesis deals with distortion of ankle joint and Mulligan Concept application issues. The main purpose of the thesis is to use the Mobilizations with Movement techniques (hereinafter referred to as MWM) in patients who suffered ankle joint sprain. With the thesis being divided into theoretical and practical parts, the former one presents the issue of ankle joint using anatomic point of view and kinesiology viewpoint. The following chapter deals with ankle joint distortion with regards to its most frequent cause, a risk of development of CAI (chronic ankle instability), appropriate treatment and physiotherapy. At the end of theoretical part is presented Brian Mulligan and his concept. The practical parts consists of casuistry on two themes. Both of them include initial examination, therapy goals definition, description of physiotherapy intervention and final examination. In order to be able to assess therapy results, the author chooses the Knee to Wall Test and Two-scale-stand Test methods as parts of both initial and final examination. In addition, the author compares initial and final values of ankle joint locomotion extent goniometric gauging, lower limbs girth anthropometric gauging, pain..

Effectiveness of mobilization with movement (Mulligan concept techniques) on low back pain: a systematic review
Objective: To evaluate evidence on the effectiveness of Mulligan techniques on low back pain. Data sources: PubMed/Medline, Scopus, Ovid, CINAHL, Embase, PEDro, Google Scholar, and Cochrane Library were searched from inception to 31 March 2018 for randomized clinical trials reporting outcomes of pain or disability in adult patients (⩾18 years) with low back pain. Review methods: Two authors screened the results and extracted data for use in this review. The risk of bias was evaluated using the Cochrane criteria. Basic information and treatment protocols were also extracted. In addition, the level of evidence of each study and strength of conclusion for pain and disability were determined. Results: A total of 20 studies with 693 patients were included. Nine trials focused on sustained natural apophyseal glide, three on spinal mobilization with limb movement and seven on bent leg raise. The results showed that Mulligan techniques can decrease pain and disability and increase range of motion in patients with low back pain; however, the strength of conclusion for pain and disability was moderate. Furthermore, inconclusive results were observed for the effectiveness of Mulligan techniques on movement speed. In this review, eight studies were categorized as low risk of bias, while 12 studies had high risk of bias. Level of evidence analysis revealed that 17 studies were classified as level of evidence B, while three studies were classified as level of evidence A2. Conclusion: Current evidence is insufficient in supporting the benefits of Mulligan techniques on pain, disability, and range of motion in low back pain patients. © 2018, The Author(s) 2018

Teoretická část představuje oblast hlezenního kloubu z anatomického a kineziologického hlediska. Následuje kapitola o distorzi hlezna zahrnující nejčastější příčiny vzniku, riziko rozvoje CAI (chronická instabilita hlezna), léčbu a vhodnou fyzioterapii. Závěr teoretické části je věnován Brianu Mulliganovi a jeho konceptu. Praktická část se skládá ze dvou kazuistik. Obě obsahují vstupní vyšetření, vymezení cílů terapie, popis fyzioterapeutické intervence a výstupní vyšetření. Aby mohla autorka zhodnotit výsledky terapií, zvolila v rámci vstupního a výstupního vyšetření funkční testování - Knee to Wall Test a vyšetření stoje na dvou vahách. Dále porovnala vstupní a výstupní goniometrické měření rozsahů pohybu hlezna, antropometrické měření obvodů dolních končetin, hodnocení bolesti na škále NRS a vyšetření stoje a chůze včetně...Klinika rehabilitačního lékařství 1. Understanding Composition: The Complete Photographers Guide
This fascinating book uncovers the mysteries behind photographic composition. Author Steve Mulligan discusses the ideas, technique and equipment which will enable the reader to become a better photographer. The book looks at key ideas behind, composition such as viewpoint, framing, symmetry, light and the rule of thirds. And explain how exposure, depth of field, point of focus and shutter speed affect composition. The right equipment for the job is also considered, including discussion of cameras, lenses, tripods, and accessories. The book shows how these ideas and equipment work in practice when photographing landscapes, wildfile, portraits, and abstracts. And it shows how computer can help improve the composition of photographs. Finally, there is helpful advice on the different media for presenting and displaying photographic work in frame, books, and online
Harberger-Laursen-Metzler Effect with Modified Becker-Mulligan Preference by Dynamic Optimization
We investigate the effects of terms-of-trade shocks on the spending and current account where households with the modified Becker-Mulligan endogenous time preference maximize their utility over an infinite planning period. Our results show that, with the modified Becker-Mulligan preference, the effect of the deterioration in terms of trade on the current account depends on people’s characters. However, with the second preference we have considered, the deterioration in terms of trade will result in a current account deficit, which is the same as Obstfeld (1982), where households with Uzawa endogenous time preference are considered; deterioration in terms of trade leads to a decline in the current account. These theoretical results are consistent with the empirical evidence by numerical simulations
