The essay of the catalogue presents the section no. 8 of the exhibition "Leonardo di carta in carta. La costruzione del mito fra Ottocento e Novecento", ed. by S. Alessandri, M. Ceriana, S. Mammana (Scientifi Committee: S. Alessandri, F. Barbagli, M. Ceriana, D. Colombo, S. Mammana, F. Tognoni, A. Tura, F. Valli, C. Vecce), held at Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale in Firenze (BNCF) from December 5 2019 to March 14 2020. The exhibition section and the essay are dedicated to a short portrayal of the development of the myth of Leonardo da Vinci in earlier Twentieth-Century: the derision of myth of Gioconda by artists such as Malevic, Duchamp, Picabia, Eluard, Leger, and by futurists, who, anyway, considered him a model, as well as the influence on Balla, Carrà, and Fontana; moreover the sequence of shows dedicated to Leonardo “scientist”, pioneer and all-round genius, used by propaganda of Fascism, above all thanks to exhibition Leonardesca, held at Palazzo dell’Arte in Milan in 1939
Benzofuran Derivatives Activators of the Chaperone Protein Hsp90: Synthesis, Interaction Studies and Biological Effects
We have recently reported that allosteric modulation of the chaperone protein Hsp901 can be achieved in an allosteric fashion using a family of 2-phenyl-benzofuran derivatives that target an allosteric pocket at the C-terminal domain of the protein.2,3 These ligands are mainly activators of the chaperone ATPase activity3 and are accelerators of the protein internal dynamics.4 As a result, they tune Hsp90 chaperone activity in ways that we are just beginning to unravel.
We are going to present the synthetic approaches towards an expanded library of about 40 benzofuran derivatives diversified at positions R1 and R2 along with the interaction studies with full length Hsp905 and the effects on Hsp90 enzymatic and chaperoning activity.

Synthesis and characterization of Hsp90 allosteric activators
Hsp90 is a molecular chaperone playing a pivotal role in the cell life cycle1 and an established anti-apoptotic target in cancer therapy.2 The protein internal dynamics are regulated by ATP and are critical for its function. We have recently demonstrated that Hsp90 can be modulated in an allosteric fashion, targeting the protein C-terminal domain (CTD) with a family of 2-phenyl-benzofuran derivatives.3-5 These molecules increase Hsp90 ATPase rate and accelerate its internal dynamics. As a result they tune its chaperone activity in ways that we are just beginning to unravel.
The synthetic approaches towards an expanded library of about 40 benzofuran derivatives diversified at positions R1 and R2 (Figure 1) will be presented together with the interaction studies with full length Hsp90.6

Quaternionic closed operators, fractional powers and fractional diffusion processes
This book presents a new theory for evolution operators and a new method for defining fractional powers of vector operators. This new approach allows to define new classes of fractional diffusion and evolution problems. These innovative methods and techniques, based on the concept of S-spectrum, can inspire researchers from various areas of operator theory and PDEs to explore new research directions in their fields. This monograph is the natural continuation of the book: Spectral Theory on the S-Spectrum for Quaternionic Operators by Fabrizio Colombo, Jonathan Gantner, and David P. Kimsey (Operator Theory: Advances and Applications, Vol. 270)
Axially Harmonic Functions and the Harmonic Functional Calculus on the S-spectrum
The spectral theory on the S-spectrum was introduced to give an appropriate mathematical setting to quaternionic quantum mechanics, but it was soon realized that there were different applications of this theory, for example, to fractional heat diffusion and to the spectral theory for the Dirac operator on manifolds. In this seminal paper we introduce the harmonic functional calculus based on the S-spectrum and on an integral representation of axially harmonic functions. This calculus can be seen as a bridge between harmonic analysis and the spectral theory. The resolvent operator of the harmonic functional calculus is the commutative version of the pseudo S-resolvent operator. This new calculus also appears, in a natural way, in the product rule for the F-functional calculus
The F -Resolvent Equation and Riesz Projectors for the F -Functional Calculus
The Fueter-Sce-Qian mapping theorem gives a constructive way to extend holomorphic functions of one complex variable to slice hyperholomorphic functions. By means of the Cauchy formula for slice hyperholomorphic functions it is possible to have a Fueter-Sce-Qian mapping theorem in integral form for n odd. On this theorem it is based the F-functional calculus for n-tuples of commuting operators. It is a functional calculus based on the commutative version of the S spectrum. Furthermore, it is a monogenic functional calculus in the spirit of McIntosh and collaborators. In this paper, inspired by the quaternionic case and some particular Clifford algebras cases, we show a general resolvent equation for the F-functional calculus in the Clifford algebra setting. Moreover, we prove that the F-resolvent equation is the suitable equation to study the Riesz projectors
Harmonic and polyanalytic functional calculi on the S-spectrum for unbounded operators
Harmonic and polyanalytic functional calculi have been recently defined for bounded commuting operators. Their definitions are based on the Cauchy formula of slice hyperholomorphic functions and on the factorization of the Laplace operator in terms of the Cauchy-Fueter operator D and of its conjugate (D) over bar. Thanks to the Fueter extension theorem, when we apply the operator D to slice hyperholomorphic functions, we obtain harmonic functions and via the Cauchy formula of slice hyperholomorphic functions, we establish an integral representation for harmonic functions. This integral formula is used to define the harmonic functional calculus on the S-spectrum. Another possibility is to apply the conjugate of the Cauchy-Fueter operator to slice hyperholomorphic functions. In this case, with a similar procedure we obtain the class of polyanalytic functions, their integral representation, and the associated polyanalytic functional calculus. The aim of this paper is to extend the harmonic and the polyanalytic functional calculi to the case of unbounded operators and to prove some of the most important properties. These two functional calculi belong to so called fine structures on the S-spectrum in the quaternionic setting. Fine structures on the S-spectrum associated with Clifford algebras constitute a new research area that deeply connects different research fields such as operator theory, harmonic analysis, and hypercomplex analysis
