In gravidanza: studio epidemiologico sugli aspetti ansiosi e depressivi
No full textPREMESSA: La gravidanza costituisce un momento delicato e prezioso nella vita di ogni donna, non privo di ostacoli ed incognite. Inserendosi all’interno un quadro di attualità che vaglia le possibili incertezze legate alla maternità, questo studio sonda i dubbi e le difficoltà delle future madri e le possibilità operative dell’ostetrica nel suo ruolo di accompagnamento alla nascita.
OBIETTIVI: Lo studio epidemiologico vuole indagare la problematica dei disturbi ansiosi e depressivi in gravidanza, e la necessità di sostegno ed informazione sulla tematica da parte delle donne. Si mira a sensibilizzare gli operatori sanitari, ed in particolare le ostetriche, circa quest’esigenza, spingendo gli stessi a porre maggiore attenzione alla sfera emotiva della persona, nell’ottica di un’assistenza alla maternità migliore e più completa.
MATERIALI E METODI: Lo studio ha preso in esame un campione di 102 donne gravide nel terzo trimestre di gestazione, reclutate presso gli ambulatori ostetrici ed i corsi di accompagnamento alla nascita. E’ stato sottoposto un questionario autosomministrato in cui sono state inserite le scale STAI Y e BDI per la valutazione dell’ansia e della depressione. Le donne con punteggi ≥ 44 per la STAI Y2 e > 8 per la BDI sono state ricontattate telefonicamente ed è stato proposto loro un colloquio clinico.
RISULTATI: Lo stato di gravidanza risulta essere protettivo nei confronti dello sviluppo di disturbi ansiosi e depressivi, tuttavia le donne riportano una percezione dei livelli di ansia e depressione più elevata rispetto al riscontro clinico. Il 44% del campione ha richiesto spontaneamente un colloquio indipendentemente dai risultati del test, e queste donne sono risultate effettivamente più ansiose e più depresse.
LIMITI DELLO STUDIO: il campione preso in esame risulta poco eterogeneo, la quasi totalità delle donne è primigravida, di nazionalità italiana e possiede un alto livello di istruzione. L’età gestazionale avanzata riduce la visione d’insieme sul quadro complessivo della gravidanza.
CONCLUSIONI: Dall’analisi statistica emerge il bisogno di sostegno ed informazione da parte delle donne circa il tema della depressione e dei disturbi ansiosi. Si prevede di proseguire l’indagine epidemiologica ampliando il campione analizzato ed approfondendo i dati finora ottenuti mediante un follow-up nel post-partum

This paper establishes the connection between Jellinek Morton, a well-known figure in Hungary in the early part of the 20th Century, and E.M. Jellinek, one of the founders of alcohol studies. Newly found documents in Hungary and at the Rutgers Center of Alcohol Studies Library and Archives provide compelling evidence of this connection and shed some light on the mysterious circumstances of his 1920 disappearance from Hungary.
