Influence Of The Tio2 Content On The Chromatographic Performance And High Ph Stability Of C18 Titanized Phases
To extend pH stability, protective metal oxide layers, such as titanium oxide, that are more stable in alkaline medium, can be chemically bonded to the chromatographic silica surface prior to reaction with silanes. In the present work, the influence of the titanium oxide content on the chromatographic performance was investigated by synthesizing a C18 phase onto a doubly-titanized silica support and comparing its chromatographic performance with a C18 phase on singly-titanized silica. The Engelhardt and Tanaka test mixtures were used for chromatographic characterizations using short HPLC columns. The column lifetimes of these titanized phases were also compared by performing accelerated aging tests at 50 °C using aggressive phosphate mobile phases at pH 10. © 2006 Elsevier B.V. Er is een groeiend besef dat bouwprocesinnovatie een belangrijke bijdrage kan leveren aan de verbetering en versterking van de bouwbedrijfskolom als geheel. High-performance Liquid Chromatographic Stationary Phases Based On Poly(methyloctylsiloxane) Immobilized On Silica - Iii. Stability Evaluations
Several reversed-phase materials for high-performance liquid chromatography were obtained by deposition of poly(methyloctylsiloxane) (PMOS) on HPLC silica particles, followed by immobilization using different procedures. Each phase had characteristic physicochemical and chromatographic properties. The present work evaluates the stability of these phases with both neutral and basic mobile phases. All of the stationary phases were quite stable to neutral mobile phase, with less stability at higher pH. However, one thermally immobilized phase presented high stability even at an elevated temperature with a pH 10.0 mobile phase. © 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. Stability Studies Of Stationary Phases From Poly(methyltetradecylsiloxane) Sorbed And Immobilized Onto Metalized And Unmodified Silicas
Stationary phases for RP-HPLC were prepared from metalized (titanized and zirconized) and unmodified silica particles using sorbed and immobilized poly(methyltetradecylsiloxane) (PMTDS). Different immobilization procedures, such as gamma irradiation and thermal treatments, were used for the preparation of the immobilized PMTDS phases. The stabilities of these stationary phases were evaluated by passing alkaline (pH 10) mobile phase through 60 mm. × 3.9 mm columns of the different phases, with periodic tests to evaluate chromatographic performance. The results show that higher stabilities were obtained with stationary phases based on PMTDS immobilized on zirconized silica, these phases being 50% more stable than their titanized silica counterparts and 400% more stable than those based on unmodified silica. These supports provide higher chemical stability to the laboratory-made stationary phases, when compared with chemically bonded silica-based phases. © 2007 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Stability Evaluations Of An Octadecyl Bonded Phase Based Upon Titanium-grafted Silica
The authors describe the preparation of a C18 bonded phase using silica chemically modified with tetraisopropyl orthotitanate. The product was reacted with ocadecyltrimethoxysilane to yield a reversed phase. The chromatographic performance of this phase was evaluated for the separation of various test mixtures containing polar, nonpolar, and basic compounds, and its stability at pH 9 and 10 was evaluated and compared with that for an octadecyl bonded phase based upon the same silica support without titanization.227632641Majors, R.E., (2003) LCGC Eur., 16, pp. 8-13Majors, R.E., (2000) LCGC, 18, pp. 1214-1225Kirkland, J.J., Van Straten, M.A., Claessens, H.A., (1998) J. New business model of flexible housing
The Open Building (OB) and the concept of flexible housing has alwaysassociated with user’s ability to respond to changing demand. It is necessary that housing can adap to changing market conditions and different users’ requirements. Flexibility makes a crucial concept that one cannot ignore. However, extra investments for future flexibility are still hardly made because the early investments affect different parties that are not involved in the future adaptation thus made it unaffordable to the mass. Also, the final life-cycle costs incurred in considering alternative solutions are more important than simply investing extra money in providing for flexibility (R.P. Geraedts). Our societyandeconomy are always changing. Nonetheless, the way we produce, the linear system that contains make-take-ispose consumption, had not changed since the started off an industrial revolution a long time ago. Thus, resulted in scarcity, depletion and waste of resources, environmental pollution, and climate change. Innovative leasing using circular economy(CE) is a recent way of looking at sustainability. The basis of CE is thinking in circular supply chains, maximizing the value of materials in which products are reused, remanufactured and recycled (MacArthur, 2013). The authors have illustrated several methods for integrating flexible housing with circular economy concept resulting in a conceptual framework of a new business model of flexible housing. Results of this study contribute to an alternative affordable, flexible housing in the market.Management in the Built EnvironmentArchitecture and The Built Environmen
