ADDENDUM I TO P326 Continuation of the physics programme of the NA62 experiment

    No full text
The NA62 experiment took data successfully in 2016-2018, and has proven that the decay-in- flight technique employed for ultra-rare kaon decays works. The NA62 Collaboration proposes to continue the data taking of the experiment during the period after CERN Accelerators Long Shutdown 2 (LS2) and before Long Shutdown 3 (LS3). The continuation will allow NA62 to perform a measurement of the branching ratio of the ultra-rare kaon decay K+ → π+νν ̄ with significantly improved accuracy, to substantially increase its sensitivity on several rare and forbidden kaon decays, and to reach unprecedented sensitivity in the investigation of several Standard Model (SM) extensions involving faintly interacting long-lived particles

Results and perspectives from the NA62 experiment at CERN

The NA62 experiment at the CERN SPS collected a large sample of charged kaon decays with a highly efficient trigger for decays into electrons in 2007. The kaon beam represents a source of tagged neutral pion decays in vacuum. A preliminary result of a new measurement of the electromagnetic transition form factor slope of the neutral pion in the time-like momentum region from 1.05 million fully reconstructed π0 Dalitz decays is presented in the first part of this report. In the second part, prospects and current status of a new measurement of B(K+ → π +νν) at the NA62 experiment are summarised. The experiment took data in physics runs in 2014 and 2015 reaching the designed beam intensity

NA62 Status Report to the CERN SPSC: Summary of the 2010 Activities and Plans for 2011

The document reports the progress of experiment NA62 to study the rare decay K+π+ννˉK^+ \to \pi^+ \nu \bar{\nu} at the CERN SPS. The status of the analysis of the data collected by the Collaboration in 2007-2008 to study Lepton Universality in Kaon decays is also given. The implications of the absence of SPS beam in 2012, as currenntly foreseen, are mentioned and the plan to mitigate for this lack of beam is presented. The overall construction schedule is reviewed and the status of the sub-detectors is presente

NA62 will study the rare decay K+π+ννˉK^+ \to \pi^+ \nu \bar{\nu} at the CERN SPS. We report here progress on the construction and the preparations for the experiment since November 2010. The implications of the postponed LHC shutdown are presented. We report the final (published) result on the 40 % of the data collected 2007-2008 to study Lepton Universality and the work towards the completion of the full sample analysis
