Utilização da casca do coco verde para fabricação de briquetes
Brazil is a major generator of waste from the green coconut shell, which promotes
considerable accumulation of these wastes, causing severe environmental impacts.
Considering this high generation of residual biomass from green coconut,
alternatives capable of solving this issue have been sought through the manufacture
of briquettes, used as a source of energy. In this perspective, the present study
aimed to demonstrate the technical feasibility of using briquettes. This is an
observational research, with a qualitative approach on the production of briquettes,
which included analyzes on the feasibility of manufacturing briquettes using green
coconut husk as the main input. In the research, the economic and technical
feasibility of the reuse of coconut husks as an input for making briquettes from charcoal fines was observed. Being its production of simple execution and raw
material of easy execution. Its quality was also evidenced when compared to the
briquettes produced in other countries. Regarding the energy evaluation of the
briquettes, it presented satisfactory energy potential, making the project viable and
applicable in our city.O Brasil é um grande gerador de resíduos provenientes da casca de coco verde, o
que promove acúmulo considerável desses rejeitos, provocando impactos
ambientais severos. Considerando essa alta geração de biomassa residual do coco
verde, tem se buscado alternativas capazes de solucionar esta questão por meio da
confecção de briquetes, usado como fonte de energia. Nesta perspectiva, o presente
estudo teve como objetivo demonstrar a viabilidade técnica do uso de briquetes.
Trata-se de uma pesquisa de cunho observacional, com abordagem qualitativa
sobre a produção dos briquetes, onde foram abrangidas análises sobre a viabilidade
da fabricação de briquetes utilizando casca de coco verde como insumo principal.
Nas pesquisas foi observada a viabilidade econômica e técnica do reuso das cascas
de coco como insumo para confecção de briquetes de finos de carvão vegetal.
Sendo sua produção de simples execução e matéria-prima de fácil execução.
Evidenciou-se ainda, a sua qualidade quando comparados aos briquetes produzidos
em outros países. No que tange a avaliação energética dos briquetes, o mesmo
apresentou potencial energético satisfatório, tornando o projeto viável e aplicável na
nossa cidade

Splenectomy for hereditary spherocytosis: complete, partial or not at all?
Hereditary spherocytosis (HS) is an hematologic disorder, common in the Northern European population, which is characterized by hemolytic anemia and splenomegaly. The pathophysiological bedrock of HS consists of the retention and damage of abnormal red cells, caused by an intrinsic erythrocyte membrane defect. Hemolysis within the spleen is the main detrminant of erythrocyte destruction in patients with HS. Splenectomy removes the primary ?graveyard? for spherocytes and, thus, eliminates anemia and hyperbilirubinemia and lowers the high reticulocyte number to nearly normal levels. Spleen removal is an effective therapeutic option but it is not without risks. The incidence and public health impact of spleen surgery in children with HS is substantial. Unfortunately, splenectomy is sometimes recommended erroneously for young children who have a mild clinical phenotype or is performed without relying on careful assessment of the risks and benefits. This article aims to present criticism and address controversy about HS management. Unclear and still controversial issues are tackled according to the author?s personal viewpoint, because strong evidence in different aspects of HS management is lacking

Comments on the instruction of constitutional law: considerations after 30 years of teaching at Buenos Aires University (U.B.A) Law School
The present contribution aims to establish the role of Constitutional Law instruction as a reflection of the submission of the exercise of political and factice powers to the Rule of Law. Based on his 30 - year experience as a professor at the University of Buenos Aires, the author points out the course's undeniable relevance and sets forth the way inwhich students should prepare themselves while undertaking the course - especially through practical activities and interactive class sessions - with the primal aim of rendering the future legal practitioner a custodian of Constitutional Supremacy. Moreover, the importance of incorporating diverse Information and Communications Technology (ICTs) tools in university teaching is emphasized by describing the experience developed during virtual lessons in the COVID-19 pandemic context. The advantages of what this method and ICTs have to offer is not only highlighted, but also the measures that professors need to attend while teaching.FIL: Gusman, Alfredo Silverio. Basado en la experiencia de treinta años como docente en la Universidad de Buenos Aires, el autor transmite la importancia insoslayable de la materia y la manera en que debe prepararse el estudiante durante el cursado de la asignatura -sobre todo, a partir de ejercitaciones prácticas y clases participativas -, con el fin primordial de preparar al futuro operador jurídico para convertirlo en un custodio más de la Supremacía Constitucional. Asimismo, se destaca la importancia de la incorporación en la enseñanza universitaria de distintas herramientas que proporcionan la tecnología de la información y de las comunicaciones, relatando la experiencia desarrollada con las clases virtuales en el contexto de la pandemia COVID-19. No sólo se indican las ventajas que esta modalidad y las distintas TIC ofrecen, pues también menciona ciertas prevenciones necesarias que el docente debe tener en cuenta durante el curso
