    Methods and uncertainties in the experimental assessment of horizontal advection

    The eddy covariance technique is prone to underestimating the net ecosystem CO2 exchange under stable atmospheric conditions, which mostly occur at night time when other terms of the CO2 mixing ratio conservation equation (i.e. advection) may become significant. Given the potential large impact of night-time flux measurements on the estimation of the ecosystem carbon budget, it is important to develop reliable methodologies for the assessment of advective fluxes. Accurate CO2 concentration gradient measurements are needed for a precise estimation of the advection components. For this purpose a novel measurement system, designed to overcome some of the key issues of CO2 concentration measurements, has been developed and deployed at the IT-Ren eddy covariance site (Renon, BZ, Italy). In particular, the system is optimized for minimizing both the spatial and temporal uncertainty of the CO2 concentration gradients by adopting buffer volumes, a ramified sampling scheme, and a rapid switch between lines. Different configurations of the measurement system were used to quantify the uncertainty of horizontal concentration gradients and to disentangle its sources. The discrete temporal sampling was the major source of uncertainty, accounting for 54% of the total uncertainty, while spatial sampling accounts for 39% of the total uncertainty in stable conditions and for 35% in unstable conditions, with the remaining uncertainty being explained by the accuracy of the instrumental set-up (analyser, pumps and valves) (7% and 11% for stable and unstable atmospheric conditions, respectively, corresponding to ∼0.2 ppm). Finally, we investigated the effect of buffer volumes on the uncertainty generated by a discrete temporal sampling in the estimation of horizontal advection. The use of volumes with a mean residence time equal to the turn-over time of the manifold reduced by half the standard deviation in the time series of horizontal advection (from 3.8 to 1.8 μmol m−2 s−1).     UJI FITOKIMIA DAN AKTIVITAS ANTIOKSIDAN EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN TIGA (Allophylus cobbe L.) Jelly Juliana Najoan1), Max John R. Runtuwene1), Defny S. Wewengkang1) 1)Program Studi Farmasi FMIPA Unsrat ABSTRACT This study aims to identify the active componends, determine the secondary metabolites content and  to determine antioxidant activity of the three leaves (Allophylus cobbe L.) ethanol extract. Extraction was done by maceration and soxhletasi with ethanol  solvent by 60% and 80%. Phytochemical tests included the identification of alkaloids, phenolics, flavonoids, steroids/triterpenoids and saponin. The determination of total phenolic and flavonoid content and the antioxidant activity was tested by the  method of DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazil). The results showed that the three leaves extract contains phenolic compound, falvonoids, steroids and saponins. The highest phenolic content total was found in soxhletasi 80% 49.90 µg/mL, followed by 43.65, 37.84, 33.77 (µg/mL) to extract soxhletasi, 60%, maceration 80 and 60%. Flavonoids total was found in maceration 80% 11.58 µg/mL, followed by 9.40,  7.77,  6.18 (µg/mL) to ectract soxhletasi 80% , maceration 60% and soxhletasi 60%. Based on the IC50 total calculation, the maceration 80% 255.77 µg/mL extract has the highest antioksidant activity and followed by  256.76, 297.54, 310.58 (µg/mL) to extract soxhletasi 80%, soxhletasi 60% and maceration 60%. ABSTRAK   Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasikan senyawa aktif, menentukan kandungan metabolit sekunder serta mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan dari ekstrak etanol daun tiga (Allophylus cobbe L.). Ekstraksi dilakukan dengan metode maserasi dan soxhletasi dengan pelarut etanol 60% dan 80%. Pengujian fitokimia meliputi identifikasi alkaloid, fenolik, flavonoid, steroid/triterpenoid dan saponin, penentuan total kandungan fenolik dan flavonoid serta pengujian aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode DPPH (1,1-difenil-2-pikrilhidrazil). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun tiga mengandung senyawa fenolik, falvonoid, steroid dan saponin. Berdasarkan hasil yang didapat daun tiga memiliki kandungan total fenolik yang paling tinggi sebesar 49.90 µg/mL, diikuti 43.65, 37.84, 33.77 (µg/mL) untuk ekstrak soxhletasi 80%, 60%, maserasi 80 dan 60%. Untuk kandungan total flavonoid yang paling tinggi sebesar 11.58 µg/mL, diikuti 9.40,  7.77,  6.18 (µg/mL) untuk ekstrak maserasi 80%, soxhletasi 80% , maserasi 60% dan soxhletasi 60%. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan IC50 ekstrak maserasi 80% memiliki aktivitas antioksidan tertinggi 255.77 µg/mL, diikuti 256.76, 297.54, 310.58 (µg/mL) untuk ekstrak soxhletasi 80%, soxhletasi 60% dan maserasi 60%. The results showed that total phenolic content in methanol extract was 50,905 mg/g and in petroleum ether, ethyl acetate, and water fraction were 47,572; 121,064; and 62,968 mg/g respectively. Non si vede il suo volto, ma il proprio volto riflesso, e deformato, in lui. Occorre, in un lungo e doloroso processo si passi dallo schermo opaco, che nasconde l'altro e lo rende irriconoscibile, allo specchio , con il quale all'altro si sovrappone se stessi, fino a che lo specchio non diventa trasparente, e solo allora è possibile percepire insieme il proprio volto e quello dell'altro, e riconoscersi

    This study indicates the ways in which various aspects of the author(s) are brought forth in Dumb type’s performance art, the S/N production. Previous research has suggested a non-hierarchical organization of Dumb type and the absence of a “privileged author” in Dumb type’s collaborative work, S/N. However, the results that I have investigated from member’s interviews on the creative process of S/N along with my analysis of the recorded images of S/N, indicate a different aspect of the author(s). First, S/N was created through, so to speak, the collective ideas of the members of Dumb type. Further, S/N has at least nine quotations from previous performances, installations, and printed writings, besides the work-in-progress technique. Explicating one of the “author functions” as given by Michel Foucault, each text has plural subjects of the author. However, it has been revealed from members’ interviews that Teiji Furuhashi had a decision-making role in selecting the members’ ideas within the performance. Since then, S/N has had plural subjects of creation; however, Furuhashi is one of the subjects of creation along with the “privileged author.” S/N has plural authors (diffusive authors) yet at the same time, it has a “privileged author,” Teiji Furuhashi (cohesive author)
