Defining Place Image
The image of a place is important as it has implications for investments made in cities, workforce locations, and tourism. Place image incorporates concepts including brand, visual image, reputation, the sense of place, and the identity of the place - all of which create an overall image of a place and can lead to investment or abandonment. Place image has ramifications for decisions made about the place, including where businesses locate, where workers live, and where tourists visit (Smith, 2006). Place image has serious ramifications for decisions made about the place as people choose to stay, work, visit, and invest. This research outlines the inconsistencies in the literature, clarifies the terminology, and begins to set research standards for how place image is described through a conceptual model
Preserving Candi Kidal’s Relief to Sustain a Cultural Heritage Site using ATUMICS Approach
Candi Kidal represents a cultural heritage structure that should be preserved. This temple structure is similar to the other temples in that it contains a foot section (Bhurloka), a body part (Bhuvarloka), and a summit portion (Swarloka). Some reliefs are read on the body using the Prasawya technique, and a story about the loyalty of a child named Garudeya to his mother, Winata, will appear. The story of a son freeing his mother from slavery is analogous to the Indonesian people's battle for freedom from Dutch colonialism. This study intends to introduce Garudeya's intangible reliefs at Candi Kidal and explain the moral message they embody. The Garudeya relief found in the Candi Kidal will be re-displayed on a sitting lamp as part of this research. The author did a site survey, interviews, questionnaires, and a literature review in this study. The author used the ATUMICS approach to create a prototype in the form of a sitting lamp, which aids in transforming traditions into contemporary contexts. The main focus of this study is on the concept of form, which is the transformation of Candi Kidal's silhouette into the shape of a sitting lamp. Furthermore, the lithophane technique, which converts a photograph into a 3D relief, is used on the body of the sitting lamp. As a result, the relief seen on Candi Kidal's body can be reproduced on the sitting lamp's body

The Bioscience Cluster in Ohio
The purpose of this report is to create a shared definition and understanding of the bioscience industry across the state of Ohio. Bioscience is a relatively small industry, but it is growing both globally, nationally, and in Ohio. It is also linked to many other industries through its technologies, suppliers, and customers. This report will not only develop a deeper knowledge of the industry and its role in the economy, but we will suggest selected standards on how to study this industry and how to track its progress over time. This report is the first phase of a larger study that will analyze the bioscience industry in Northeast Ohio and Ohio based on the definitions proposed in this phase. This phase of the research was intended to agree on common definitions, develop a shared model, and identify the NAICS codes associated with sector. Based on this, the next report will develop a model for the state of Ohio and sub-regions that includes biohealth companies based not only on the NAICS definitions detailed here, but also those companies that fall outside the NAICS definition that are known participants in the biohealth sector

Economic Impact of Green Infrastructure Maintenance
The Center for Economic Development (the Center) at the Levin College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University prepared this report for LAND studio. The objective of this report is to present an economic impact of the green infrastructure maintenance of the future green infrastructure investments that the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD) will undertake. LAND studio will use this study as a component to a broader study of best practices in green infrastructure maintenance, the needs of the sector, and to develop a foundation for the creation of a green infrastructure maintenance education and workforce training program.
The report contains two sections: the first section includes the creation of the green infrastructure maintenance estimates, and the second details the economic impact of the green infrastructure maintenance estimates. The Center’s estimates of the green infrastructure maintenance are of a five year period (2020-2024) for the Cleveland-Elyria-Mentor Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). In the next section, the Center estimates the economic impact of this industry using the IMPLAN software.
Traditional storm water management, also known as grey infrastructure, uses a network of sewers and pipes to collect and treat sewage and storm water so that it may be returned as clean water. Green infrastructure, on the other hand, is an environmentally friendly waste water cleaning technique that uses vegetation and soil to manage rainwater. Green infrastructure, also known as Best Management Practices (BMP) and Low Impact Development (LID), can take many forms. The green infrastructure that this report examines is that of bioretention ponds, defined as vegetated areas that are planted with native plants to collect and treat water runoff.
It is not only the implementation and construction of green infrastructure that is important to consider, but it is also key to examine the maintenance and upkeep of these areas. It has been suggested that green infrastructure maintenance can create jobs in many cities since the maintenance of green infrastructure requires more manual labor and less heavy equipment than traditional storm water facilities
2013 Economic Impact of Companies Funded and/or Assisted by the Northeast Ohio Entrepreneurial Signature Program
This report measures the economic impact of early-stage companies that have been supported by JumpStart Inc. and its partners in the Northeast Ohio Entrepreneurial Signature Program (ESP).1 Companies included in this report have received significant technical assistance and/or direct investment funding from entrepreneurial support organizations in the ESP. It is important to note that North Coast Angel Fund invests in companies throughout Ohio and the economic outcomes generated by these firms are included in the statewide economic impact reported here; while the remainder of the ESP’s entrepreneurial acceleration activities are confined geographically to the 21 counties of Northeast Ohio.
The Center for Economic Development at Cleveland State University’s Levin College of Urban Affairs prepared this economic impact study for JumpStart. In total, 339 JumpStart and/or ESP companies were surveyed for this study. Of those 339, 94 were excluded because they reported no employment, payroll, or expenditures, suggesting that they do not yet create an economic impact, thus leaving 245 companies which were included in the impact analysis. Of these, 112 (portfolio companies) were funded and received significant business assistance from an ESP partner, 9 were funded by an ESP partner but received no business assistance, and 124 (client companies) received significant business assistance but no direct funding from an ESP partner
