No full text二刘之争向为学界所关注,但以往相关研究多热衷于讨论矛盾双方谁是谁非,对于这场争斗对抗法战局究竟有何影响,却鲜有人予以研究。事实上,二刘间的恩怨,加上清廷人事安排的失当,导致台湾出现了"将帅参商"、"事权不一",很大程度上阻碍了清军的备战与战略选择。厘清清军内部的矛盾争斗与战争间的关系,才能更加准确地理解和评价清军在台湾保卫战中的表现。The conflict between Liu Ming-chuan and Liu Ao has always been one of the import events in the study of the Sino-French War.But the scholars were always only concerned about who was right in this conflict,ignoring how the conflict influenced the course of war.In fact,the conflict between Liu Ming-chuan and Liu Ao,and the improper arrangement on official in Fujian and Taiwan by Qing government,deeply interfered the preparation and stratagem of the Qing's troop.Making clear the relation between the conflict and the war will be helpful to understand and value the conduct of the Qing's troop in the War

The framework of the thesis consists of three major parts, first, the influence of Chinese traditional political culture on, and the formation of, the political role of the PL A; second, the influence of domestic political struggles and external military conflicts on the development of the political role of the PLA; and the third, the analysis of the transition of the PLA's political role from the structure and personnel arrangements of the CCPCC Within the above-mentioned three scopes, this thesis make a thorough discussion on the following: (1) The relationship between the structure of the PRC and the formation of the PLA's political role; (2) How has ideology influenced the army's political role; (3) What is Mao's viewpoint and his influence on the development of the army's political role; (4) What is the link between the army and the party, and how has this developed; (6) What accounts for the expansion of the PLA's political functions; (7) What is the influence of political factional struggles on the PLA's political role; (8) Is it political institution or military institution that controls the recruitment of the military elite; (9) What are the disparities between the military elite in handling international conflicts and what are their political considerations; (10) What is the Party's position in the army; (11) How have the Party’s important meetings and personnel arrangements influenced the rise and fall of the PLA's political role

Get PDF刘铭传的台海防御观不是孤立的台湾海防,至少涉及如下三方面的关系:一是台湾海防与中国东南海防的关系,从台湾在东南海疆的位置,考察台湾对东南海防的战略意义;二是台湾海防与福建海防的关系,从闽台行政与地缘关系,考察闽台战略防御的相关性;三是海防与陆防的关系,从台湾防务的布局与内部结构,考察台海防御的整体性效用。刘铭传的台海防御观,是在日本和西方列强武力侵略的刺激下,立足台湾及台海地区,关照中国东南海疆,应对外敌入侵的积极防御观。The Taiwan coastal defense concept of Liu Ming- chuan was not isolated,which at least involved in three aspects: first,the relationship between Taiwan and China southeast coastal defense. The strategic significance of Taiwan can be reviewed from Taiwan's position in the southeast coast of China; the second was the relationship between Taiwan and Fujian coastal defense. The strategic defense correlation of Fujian and Taiwan can be reviewed from its administrative and geographical relationship; the third was the relationship between coastal defense and land defense. The integral effect of Taiwan coastal defense can be reviewed from its strategic layout and internal structure. The Taiwan Coastal Defense concept of Liu Ming- chuan was an active defense concept for coping foreign invasion,especially stimulated by Japan and west colonists' military invasion,which also based on Taiwan and the whole Taiwan coastal area as well as the southeast coast of China

An Introduction to the Research of Liu Hsiang Lieh-nü-chuan (劉向『列女傳』)
Get PDFLiu Hsiang (劉向, 79-8 B. C.), Confucianist in the closing period of Qian Han (前漢) is well known for his compilation of a classified catalogue of the old books owned by the court library. Moreover, he published a number of books himself, which include Lieh-nü-chuan (『列女傳』), Xin-xu (『新序』) and Shuo-yuan (『説苑』). They are all moral stories gleaned from classics and edited on the Confucian principles.
Lieh-nü-chuan is the first biographies of women in China, and is worthy of note in that it advocates how women should live in the feudal society. The author classifies women, according to their personalities, into seven types, i. e. mu-yi (母儀), xian-ming (賢明), ren-zhi (仁智), chen-shun (貞順), jie-yi (節義), bian-tong (辯通) and nie-bi (孼嬖) ; and he makes brief comments on each type from the Confucian point of view.
It is true that the book was utilized for the purpose of controlling women' s characters in various ways ; but it is to be highly valued from the viewpoint of the history of Confucianism, since before that time very little had been written about women's social role as compared with that of men. Liu Hsiang prescribed in this book, for the first time, women's social role distinct from men's, and clearly defined women's social status in the light of the Confucian outlook on mankind.
