Nutritional labeling schemes have been instrumental in implementing such premise and different such schemes have been developed and used both in the US and elsewhere. Der griechische Gelehrte Georgios Zachariadis und sein Beitrag zum slawischen Schrifttum im 19. Jahrhundert
No full textAmong the Greek scholars who lived during the 19th century in the north-eastern Balkans, and also in Central Europe, and by their work contributed to the spiritual development of the Balkan Slavs, pride of place must be given to Georgios Zachariadis. Unfortunately, however, no detailed monograph on Zachariadis exists. On this account the problems that arise concerning the life and activities of this Greek scholar are still many and varied. In his study the author tries to fill one part of this lacuna. At the beginning of the work the following are examined, on the basis of new historical evidence: the date and place of Georgios Zachariadis’ birth, his studies and tenure as teacher in the Greek school at Zemun, the Serbian school at Šabac, and the Greek school in Vienna. The author continues his study by analyzing the various works of Zachariadis, which are written on Old Church^Slavonic, and the translations this Greek scholar made from Greek into Old Church Slavonic. Finally, the extent of Georgios Zachariadis’ contribution to Slavonic letters is made clear

Factors affecting the decision to purchase organic food
No full textIn investigating purchases of consumers familiar with organic food products, emphasis must be placed on the psychological and socio-economic factors determining their purchasing attitudes. To this end, the present study is undertaken as an investigative research, based on psychometric methods. Regression analysis is then used to assess the importance of each investigated factor. The most important factors in actual organic food purchases are found to be: familiarity with organic food enhanced by the conception of differences existing between organic and conventional food and the thoughtful way consumers purchase their food products. Multilevel (ML-ICLV) & Single Level Integrated Discrete Choice and Latent Variable (ICLV) Models Using Alternative Latent Structures' Conceptualizations
No full textThe aim of the present endeavor is to experiment on integrating discrete choice with latent variable (ICVL) models using alternative factorial structures’ conceptualizations and do so at both Single Level (Level 0) and Multilevel (ML-ICVL). In doing, specific independent variables amenable to alternative latent variables’ conceptualization were selected. These included: a) 1st-order latent variables (1st-order factors) (FM; FW), b) 1st-order latent variables (1st-order factors) (FM; FW) forming a 2nd-order factor (F), c) Multi-level (two-level) factorial structures (FML0; FML1 and FWL0; FWL1), and d) Bi-Factor factorial structures (FM; FW; FG). The results may be of use to researchers interested in using valid, reliable, and accurate structures of latent variables in ICLV models. We confirm that alternative latent structures of divergent factorial nature exist for the same observed variables, and may have different impact upon the dependent observed choice variable in the ICLV models.
