An Analysis of <i>Judge Lin</i>
Biography of Lin Wen Zhong Gong has another way to call, that is Judge Lin. The leading character is Lin Ze-Xu. This book is based on functionary experience of Lin Ze-Xu, with the captivating plots of court case, helping by highly skilled military attach\uc3\ua9s and chivalrous knights, and the history facts of Opium War. It makes Lin Ze-Xu\ue2s Confucian temperament and tragic mood more, also contrasts with author\ue2s sorrow and furiousness for the politics at the time. History, court case, martial arts\ue2\ua6\ue2\ua6etc. are essence of this book and it broadens the way of this writing style.
The topic of the thesis is \ue2An Analysis of Judge Lin\ue2. The following thesis will be divided into six different chapters. The introduction is Chapter one of the thesis, which is including researching motive and purpose, literature review of predecessors, researching version by existing information, raising questions, choosing research methods and arranging chapters. In chapter Two, I discuss the study of characters of Lin Ze-Xu, also makes a deep analysis of author\u27s purpose of writing him. In chapter Three, I analyze supporting actors and actress. Meanwhile, I illustrate author\u27s purpose of writing supporting actress because the author had different manner to describe supporting actress. Moving to the Chapter Four, I mainly focus on the plots of Judge Lin, and organize cases of Lin Ze-Xu and his subordinates to understand features of cases. In Chapter Five, I represent the causes of Opium War. China and England had difference of opinions of opium. Therefore, it is easier to comprehend what the author\u27s purpose is. In the last chapter I summarize the main points of the preceding chapters and confirm particularity of Judge Lin
From Gui Bo Shang Tong to Ji Wang Qiu Shi\ue2A Study of Xing Zhi
Integrated with the study of Chinese Classics, the Ch\ue2en-wei thoughts posed as the mainstream of East Han\ue2s philosophy studies but the thoughts also aroused different opinions. As early as in the beginning of West Han Dynasty, Liu Shin tried to oppose the studies of Modern Scripts with the studies of Ancient Scripts. Yang Xiong, a great thinker in late West Han Dynasty, tried to suppress the popularity of superstition with the concept of Dao Fa Zi Ran (meaning that Daoism lies in the Nature). In the beginning of East Han Dynasty, Heng Tan is the first thinker who openly criticized the official philosophy. He wrote \ue2Xing Lun\ue2 to declare his opposition against the dominant Ch\ue2en-wei thoughts and also offered suggestions about contemporary politics in the hope of attracting attention from the Emperor and serving the country. However, his suggestions irritated the Emperor instead and he was never promoted to an important position. After Heng Tan, Wang Chong, a thinker not in any official post, carried forward Heng\ue2s thoughts and, based on the principle of Ji Xu Wang (meaning to criticize the untrue), lashed even more strongly against the Ch\ue2en-wei thoughts.
This thesis is an attempt to analyze Heng\ue2s and Wang\ue2s thoughts based on their books, \ue2Xing Lun\ue2 and \ue2Lun Heng.\ue2 It is found that both of them, enlightened by rationalism and spurred by the sense of mission as orthodox scholars, tried to fight against the contemporary Boshi system on the basis of Bo Tong (meaning comprehensive studies), to criticize the ridiculousness of the Ch\ue2en-wei thoughts by manifesting the principle of Ji Xu Wang and finally to achieve the ideal of Xing Zhi (meaning to criticize the untrue and to serve the country with one\ue2s thoughts). Both Heng and Wang cast a deep influence on the Ming-Fa thoughts at the end of East Han Dynasty and gave birth to the following Naturalism. Their importance to the development of Chinese philosophy can be clearly seen hereby
[[alternative]]The Reaserch of the Role and Function in Administrative Corporation of the National Chiang Kai Shek Cultural Center
[[abstract]]In 1975, Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall was established as the first national performing arts center in memory of the former president Chang Kai-Shek. However, this organization had not been granted a decided status because of the limitation of the administration organization system and lots of laws until the year of 1992 when it was officially named National Chiang Kai Shek Cultural Center. Afterward, its system was assessed many times in order to go with the international trend and domestic opinion; then the Administrative Corporation was passed by the Executive Yuan at the Third Reading on January 9, 2004. Through this system, the only international performing arts center in Taiwan was reformed and its long-term problem of uncertain status was also solved on March 1, 2004.
In this research, I want to probe into the different roles and functions before and after the Administrative Corporation in National Chiang Kai Shek Cultural Center through literature analysis and deep interview. Besides, I hope to collect opinions and advices from related arts groups, scholars and experts in order to get the best conclusion and suggestion.
By literature analysis and deep interview, I find National Chiang Kai Shek Cultural Center has more different roles after the Administrative Corporation, but it is still not fully- functioned, especially as a broker to business and government. In the part of Future Envision, non-governmental performing arts groups have great expectations to National Chiang Kai Shek Cultural Center. In sum, non-governmental performing arts groups approve Administrative Corporation of National Chiang Kai Shek Cultural Center, and they think there are gap between the former and later roles of National Chiang Kai Shek Cultural Center.
[[alternative]]The Study of Improving Chinese Input Methods and The Implementation of NTNU-Master Input Method
[[abstract]]Chinese Character Input on computers is the basic ability in the east, especially in Taiwan, Hong Kong and China. If someone can input Chinese characters quickly, then he can improve his ability in using computers to do many things.
In this study, we stand on some famous input methods, like ChangJie, and other input methods based on ChangJie’s method. We try to develop some techniques, such as rearranging the ChangJie alphabets, encoding the characters with 3 codes, reducing the numbers of strokes using space bar, etc. We compare our results with ChangJie and Dy-Sin-Cang-Jie by statistical techniques in typing lots of articles. We named this method as NTNU-Master input method. The basic concept was originally designed by Dr. Shun-Shii Lin. This study is the first one to implement the system and analyze it.
After some experiments, we get some encouraging results. Successfully, we are able to reduce the average number of strokes for typing Chinese characters.
