An InGaP-GaAsHBT low-noise amplifier for 2.4/5.2/5.7-GHz WLAN applications
[[abstract]]A 2.4/5.2/5.7-GHz triple-band low-noise amplifier (LNA) achieved by switching between different base bias currents (I-B) using InGaP-GaAs HBT technology is reported for the first time. Transducer gains (S-21) of 14.6 and 11/9.5 dB, input return losses (S-11) of - 18.7 and -21.0/-11.5 dB, output return losses (S-22) of -20 and -22.7/-24.9 dB, reverse isolation (S-12) of -50.5 and -44.4/-44.4 dB, and noise figures of 3.35 and 2.54/2.71 dB were achieved at 2.4 and 5.2/5.7 GHz respectively. The input 1-dB compression point (P-1dB) and input 3(rd)-order intercept point (IIP3) of -8.5 and -1 dBin, respectively, were also achieved at 5.2 GHz.. The power consumptions are only 7.6 and 3.6 mW for the 2.4- and 5.2/5.7-GHz bands, respectively. The LNA only occupies an area of 300 X 500 Am, excluding the test pads because only one inductor is used. (C) 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.[[note]]SC
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
A high-linearity micromixer for 5-GHz-band WLAN applications using 0.35-mu m SiGe BiCMOS technology
[[abstract]]In this paper, a down-conversion double-balanced micromixer with very good linearity for 5-GHz-band WLAN applications using 0.35-mu m SiGe BiCMOS technology is presented. Good conversion gain of 7.3 dB, LO-RF isolation of 50 dB, LO-IF isolation of 45 dB, and RF-IF isolation of 28.5 dB are achieved at measurement condition of RF frequency of 5.2 GHz, LO frequency of 4.9 GHz, IF frequency of 0.3 GHz, and supply voltage of 3 V. In addition, very good linearity performances, that is, an input 1-dB compression point (P-IdB) greater than 0 dBm, and an input 3(rd)-order intercept point (IIP3) of 0.5 dBm were also achieved. The single-to-differential input stages in the RF and LO ports eliminate the need for common-mode rejection. The micromixer consumes 15.6-mW power and occupies an area of only 660 X 420 mu m, excluding the test pads. (c) 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.[[note]]SC
