Inferring effective field observables from a discrete model
Aspin system on a lattice can usually be modeled at large scales by an effective quantum field theory. A key mathematical result relating the two descriptions is the quantum central limit theorem, which shows that certain spin observables satisfy an algebra of bosonic fields under certain conditions. Here, we show that these particular observables and conditions are the relevant ones for an observer with certain limited abilities to resolve spatial locations as well as spin values. This is shown by computing the asymptotic behaviour of a quantum Fisher information metric as function of the resolution parameters. The relevant observables characterise the state perturbations whose distinguishability does not decay too fast as a function of spatial or spin resolution. The author is grateful to Tobias Osborne for discussions leading to this work. Science, Body, Anatomy
This programme of artists’ films invites us to reflect on the interplay of anatomy and cinema
Following from Tate Modern’s 2022 Counter Encounters series titled Several Encounters over Plants, Science, Body, Anatomy explores the intersection of film and medical technology. Curated with Sonia Epstein, from the Museum of the Moving Image, New York, the second day of our programme includes two short films by Ana Mendieta and Jyoti Mistry, as well as the premiere of Sasha Litvintseva's and Beny Wagner's feature film, My Want of You Partakes of Me.
In My Want of You Partakes of Me, Sasha Litvintseva and Beny Wagner source snippets from different moments in history to narrate a fundamental change in perception. Through the feature, the filmmakers elucidate how the physical and perceptual boundaries of our bodies have never ceased to evolve. From the poet Dante Alighieri to a Chinese molecular biology lab, from the science fiction author Octavia Butler to the late nineteenth century French physiologist Claude Bernard, the duo of filmmakers weave a fragmented narrative exploring how self-recognition emerges from different historical models of the body
My Want of You Partakes of Me
Filmmakers Sasha Litvintseva and Beny Wagner are joined by author Elvia Wilk for a conversation about their oeuvre.
\ud
This conversation takes as its starting point Sasha Litvintseva and Beny Wagner's most recent film, My Want of You Partakes of Me. The film, which is on view as part of the exhibition at W139, is the third instalment of a trilogy. It proposes that digestion is a fundamental condition for organisms to be in the world, a process with physiological and psychological dimensions as well as spiritual and literary implications. Told through a nonlinear, multiperspectival narrative, the film presents a political poetics of incorporation. The filmmakers will engage in a close dialogue with author Elvia Wilk, who writes about corporeality, decomposition, and transformation through such diverse lenses as mediaeval mysticism, horror, and science fiction. Wilk, Litvintseva and Wagner share a deep interest in historical excavation as a means of engaging the present moment, and will expand on the many meeting points between their work across genres

The interpretation based on the petrophysical analysis porosity of the 7th zone on TRD-10 is average 12,4%, saturation water 19,4% and volume shale 6,2%; the 7th zone on TRD-11 well is average porosity 16,2%, saturation water 41,3%, and volume shale 22%; the 11th zone on TRD-14 well is average porosity 33,2%, saturation water 21,2% and volume shale 1,2%; The 6th zone TRD-15 well, porosity 7,02%, saturation water 32,3% and volume shale 5,6%; On the TRD-17 well of the 7th zone is average the porosity 9,04%, saturation water 25,6% and volume shale 4,6%; and 4th zone of TRD-19 well, porosity 23,2% Saturation water 13,5% and volume shale 7,1%. The characteristics of hydrocarbon reservoir on TRD Wells have low water saturation is less than 50%, porosity more than 5% and volume shale less than 25%. From the result of petrophysics parameter value used as the indicator of the productive zone and interpreted that sand reservoir on well TRD has potentially for the reservoir zone with gas prospect
Contemporary Vernacular Architecture in Design Cottage & Recreational Facilities in Lake Karona Natural Tourism Area, Langkat Regency
This final project investigates the integration of contemporary vernacular architecture in the design of cottages and recreational facilities, aiming to incorporate the local cultures present at the design location, namely Malay and Karo cultures, with a more modern visual appeal. The main objective is to develop tourism and enhance the existing tourism sector at the design location. The research methods used by the author include observation and secondary data, encompassing direct surveys to the design location and literature studies from reliable sources. The architectural design results show that the use of contemporary vernacular architecture not only employs more modern materials and technology but also transforms mass forms into more modern shapes. The building designs in the design area are characterized by mass form adaptations derived from vernacular Malay and Karo roof shapes and are supported by contemporary recreational facilities. The contribution and added value of this architectural design report lie in how contemporary vernacular architecture can continuously introduce local culture in a more modern way, ensuring its enduring popularity among the public as times become increasingly modern.262 PagesKarya Tulis Profes

Improved cement block fish smoking kiln
The kiln described below is based on a portable sheet steel kiln designed by Beny in 1964. Improvement of quality of the final product, increased operating efficiency and reduction in firewood consumption were the reasons prompting the design. The design discussed was evolved by the author after a number of experimental prototypes were built, in order to reduce first cost and heat losses, both high with the all-steel kiln. Traditionally, a simple pit and table is used, around the shures of Lake Kyoga, for smoking fish
Ogunhiê! – La corporéité et la poétique d’Ogum dans le Terreiro de Umbanda Aldeia dos Orixás dans les approximations et les distances avec le travail de l’acteur/actrice
The contribution of cultural performances to the body preparation of the actor is a theme that has been brought up strongly in recent decades. This thesis analyzes the mediumistic trance of the sons and daughters of saint of Terreiro de Umbanda Aldeia dos Orixás in Maceió /AL. The objective is to show what the presence of these performers during the embodiement of Orixá Ogum can bring to the body preparation in the theater, and for this purpose it seeks to carry out a comparative study between what occurs in the altered state of consciousness of these mediums with the body states of actors and actresses while on stage during a theatrical show. The epistemo-methodological choice involves ethnography and self-ethnography, inasmuch as the author of the thesis is one of the mediums analyzed. In this way, interviews are conducted with sons and daughters-of-saint, priests and priestesses of Candomblé and Umbanda, in addition to Ogum Dance classes, experienced outside the trance state, in addition to filming and photographs of public rituals at the terreiro. The discussion places Fernanda Julia Barbosa (Onisajé), from NATA (Alagoinhas / BA) and Agrinez Melo do O Poste (Recife / PE) in dialogue, both stage directors who investigate Candomblé as a matrix / motive for scenic creation within their respective groups, and for this reason they are representatives of a theater produced by black and Afro-religious women in Northeast Brazil. In parallel to the reflections brought by these artists, researchers such as Leda Maria Martins, Denise Zenicola, Luiz Rufino, Muniz Sodré, Zeca Ligiéro and Armindo Bião form the basis for epistemological reflection on the scene and the characteristics of Afro-Brazilian arts. For the analysis of Ogum's performance and dance in the religious and artistic contexts, the authors Eugenio Barba and Richard Schechner are present, being considered as the proponents of concepts that will be reframed, in order to build an epistemology that embraces these local realities more immediately and consistently.
