Enhanced light out-coupling in OLED employing thermal-assisted, self-aggregated silver nano particles
Metallic nano-structures in micro-cavity organic light emitting diode (OLED) can significantly enhance light out-coupling efficiency. Nevertheless, they are not widely accepted in conventional devices due to its complicated process and increased manufacturing cost. In this study, we demonstrate a production-ready alternative for increasing the efficiency of OLEDs by implementing thermal-assisted self-aggregated metallic nanoparticles (NPs). Silver NPs are fabricated by thermal annealing of vacuum deposited thin silver layer without any complicated process, which is easily scalable in large area with low cost. Theoretical calculation and dark field microscopy image indicate that these stochastic Ag NPs provide light scattering in broad range. By incorporating Ag NPs to OLED with micro-cavity structure, 11% improvement in the external quantum efficiency was obtained without deteriorating viewing angle.OAIID:RECH_ACHV_DSTSH_NO:T201806816RECH_ACHV_FG:RR00200001ADJUST_YN:EMP_ID:0000029430CITE_RATE:3.68DEPT_NM:전기·정보공학부EMAIL:[email protected]_YN:YN

A Study on the mathematics textbooks in the era of the Great Han Empire
This paper aims to make a whole list of the mathematics textbooks in the era of the Great Han Empire and summerize bibliographical data and linguistic characteristics in view of Korean history. In chapter 1, the author reviewed former studies which deals with the mathematics textbooks in the era of the Great Han Empire. In chapter 2, the author summerized bibliographical data of 45 volumes of 32 kinds textbooks. In chapter 3, the author described linguistic characteristics of the textbooks, especially focusing on writing systems, the use of Arabic numerals, horizontal writing, and presence of index or glossary
Also By The Same Author: AKTiveAuthor, a Citation Graph Approach to Name Disambiguation
The desire for definitive data and the semantic web drive for inference over heterogeneous data sources requires co-reference resolution to be performed on those data. In particular, name disambiguation is required to allow accurate publication lists, citation counts and impact measures to be determined. This paper describes a graph-based approach to author disambiguation on large-scale citation networks. Using self-citation, co-authorship and document source analyses, AKTiveAuthor clusters papers, achieving precision of 0.997 and recall of 0.818 over a test group of eight surname clusters

A Novel Efficient Crash Consistency Solution Enabling Rollback Recovery for Secure NVM in Low-Power Energy Harvesting Systems
Energy Harvesting Systems (EHSs) frequently suffer power failures and are particularly deployed in remote and open environments where physical access attacks on Non-volatile Memories (NVMs) are practical. However, prior crash consistency solutions for secure NVM were designed only for conventional power-rich systems with the assumption that enough power is steadily supplied. Moreover, the prior solutions rely on roll-forward recovery and cause a significant performance overhead in low-power EHSs. To achieve a low-cost and high-performance crash-consistent secure NVM working on low-power EHSs, this paper presents Milestone, the first efficient crash consistency solution that introduces a novel hybrid checkpoint mechanism to enable a rollback recovery for secure NVM working in frequent power failures. The hybrid checkpointing atomically (1) undo-logs data updates from program writes and (2) redo-logs the updates of security metadata associated with the data updates when an adaptive hardware timer expires. In particular, Milestone discovers an optimized eager update method for the security metadata that can be performed in parallel with the program writes to NVM by leveraging the rollback recovery. Our experimental results demonstrate that Milestone significantly outperforms the state-of-the-art roll-forward recovery-based solution for secure NVM running on low-power EHSs, achieving up to a 1.87x speedup, on average.

Also, it is to look into periodical change and its cause of foreign policy of Finland that played a significant role in the Helsinki Process and to deduce the implications and applications to the current and future diplomatic policy of the Republic of Korea. I deduced both South Korea and Finland are sandwiched in between great and regional powers and historically surrounding powerful nations, so these two countries had fought numerous great and small wars with invasion, interest and a desire of conquest by others. Finland adopted neutrality as a foreign policy towards the Soviet Union (Russia) and used it during the Cold War for national survival. So, I think we can find the significant implications of Finlands neutrality policy on the Korean Peninsula that has similar circumstances where South Korea confronts China and the US hegemony in the region. The aim of these neutrality policies is to overcome their disadvantageous geo-political location, to prevent security threat, and to avoid the aggression from the great powers. This means that South Korea can take a lesson from the Finland case and, also learning from the Helsinki Process. Finally, I highlight that South Korea should adopt the balanced bandwagoning neutrality culture to prevent another inter-Korean conflicts, hegemonic intervention and security dilemma, furthermore, to achieve permanent peace and risk-free Korean Peninsula in the future. To conclude, I would suggest a balanced bandwagoning neutrality policy for South Korea based on those lessons from Finlands actual historical experience.

Corvèe under Han
The author distinguishes between the corvee systems of Ch'in and Han. In spite of the fact that the corvee system underwent a marked change in 167 B. C. in the reign of Emperor Wen of Former Han, the fact has been hitherto almost entirely overlooked. The author tries to reconstruct the Ch'in corvee system from various sources. In the sense that these two ancient empires were despotic in their constitution there was no essential difference between their system of government, but Han succeeded in melting feudalistic residues of the Chan-kuo period into her own system, while Ch'in failed in doing so due to the short period of her rule. Moreover, Ch'in failed in taking local differences into consideration in establishing her institutions. In the author's view the reign of Emperor Wen is significant in the sense that it represents renovation of the feudalistic taxation system and of the uniform and artificial system of local administration
Infinite Brain MR Images: PGGAN-Based Data Augmentation for Tumor Detection
Due to the lack of available annotated medical images, accurate computer-assisted diagnosis requires intensive data augmentation (DA) techniques, such as geometric/intensity transformations of original images; however, those transformed images intrinsically have a similar distribution to the original ones, leading to limited performance improvement. To fill the data lack in the real image distribution, we synthesize brain contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance (MR) images—realistic but completely different from the original ones—using generative adversarial networks (GANs). This study exploits progressive growing of GANs (PGGANs), a multistage generative training method, to generate original-sized 256 × 256 MR images for convolutional neural network-based brain tumor detection, which is challenging via conventional GANs; difficulties arise due to unstable GAN training with high resolution and a variety of tumors in size, location, shape, and contrast. Our preliminary results show that this novel PGGAN-based DA method can achieve a promising performance improvement, when combined with classical DA, in tumor detection and also in other medical imaging tasks
