    This paper presents the customer satisfaction analysis for measuring popularity in the Mobile Cloud, which is an emerging area in the Cloud and Big Data Computing. Organizational Sustainability Modeling (OSM) is the proposed method used in this research. The twelve-month of German and Spanish consumer data are used for the analysis to investigate the return and risk status associated with the ratings of customer satisfaction in the iPhone 4S Mobile Cloud services. Results show that there is a decline in the satisfaction ratings in Germany and Spain due to economic downturn and competitions in the market, which support our hypothesis. Key outputs have been explained and they confirm that all analysis and interpretations fulfill the criteria for OSM. The use of statistical and visualization method proposed by OSM can expose unexploited data and allows the stakeholders to understand the status of return and risk of their Cloud strategies easier than the use of other data analysis

    An autoethnography on Diaohua Chang / Wang Lei

    This dissertation focuses on an autoethnographical account of Diaohua Chang in Kuala Lumpur with a case study at three nightclubs. Diaohua Chang is a live-singing performance of Chinese popular songs common to venues such as open-air food court and night clubs. The present research studied Diaohua Chang at nightclub setting. The selected nightclubs host Diaohua Chang, a live singing performance on a stage in a Karaoke Pub setting. There is a serious lack of studies on Diaohua Chang. Related past literature such as Tan (1984), Chang (2014) and Chin (2015) described the cultural elements of the sing-song performances of Getai and Hua Chang, however most are from an outsider perspective. In this study, the author explored the very much female dominated Diaohua Chang from an insider and male perspective in an auto-ethnographical tradition. This dissertation aims to provide a holistic view and discussion on Diaohua Chang and its social and gender issues with a self-reflexive account of the author’s participant observation at the field

    Damage formation on fused silica illuminated with ultraviolet-infrared femtosecond pulse pairs

Proceedings of SPIE. doi:10.1117/12.2182633We investigate damage formation on the surface of fused silica by two femtosecond laser pulses, a tightly focused 266 nm (UV) pulse followed by a loosely focused 800 nm (IR) pulse. We show that the damage size is determined by the UV pulse, and only a small fraction of the normal UV damage threshold energy is needed to cause damage when combined with the properly delayed IR pulse. Our results, analyzed with a rate equation model, suggest that the UV pulse generates seed electrons through multiphoton absorption and the IR pulse utilizes these electrons to cause damage by avalanche ionization. By tuning such parameters like pulse energy, time delay, IR pulse duration and polarization, we further demonstrate that damage profile can be controlled. Copyright © 2015 SPIE

    YAP/TAZ ACTIVITY AND MECHANISMS OF CELL PLASTICITY

    In the last few years, YAP/TAZ emerged as powerful regulators of growth and tumor malignancy. YAP/TAZ are regulated by two inputs: the Hippo pathway and biomechanical pathway. The latter involves structural and physical signals that cells receive from their being attached to the substrate and/or to other cells and that chance the tension and organization of the cytoskeleton and cell shape. In previous works from our laboratory, we indeed found that specific F-actin structures, such as bundled F-actin cables and stress fibers are required to sustain YAP/TAZ activity. But the cascade intervening between F-actin and YAP/TAZ remains a mystery. In an independent research line, we also advanced on the biological effects of YAP/TAZ and found that overexpression of YAP in terminally differentiated cells, such as primary neurons, can trigger their dedifferentiation and acquisition of stem cells traits. The work here described represents both an advancement and a merge of these two research lines

    Rainbow modified-ladder approximation and degenerate pion

    Correlation functions can be described by the corresponding equations, viz., the gap equation for the quark propagator and the inhomogeneous Bethe-Salpeter equation for the vector dressed-fermion-Abelian-gauge-boson vertex in which specific truncations have to be implemented. The general vector and axial-vector Ward-Green-Takahashi identities require these correlation functions to be interconnected; in consequence of this, truncations made must be controlled consistently. It turns out that, if the rainbow approximation is assumed in the gap equation, the scattering kernel in the Bethe-Salpeter equation can adopt the ladder approximation, which is one of the most basic attempts to truncate the scattering kernel. Additionally, a modified-ladder approximation is also found to be a possible symmetry-preserving truncation scheme. As an illustration of this approximation for application, a treatment of the pion is included. The pion mass and decay constant are found to be degenerate in ladder and modified-ladder approximations, even though the Bethe-Salpeter amplitudes are with apparent distinction. The justification for the modified-ladder approximation is examined with the help of the Gell-Mann-Oakes-Renner relation
