Full text linkThis thesis is to study the political role of the People's Liberation Army from the approach of structure and function. The framework of the thesis consists of three major parts, first, the influence of Chinese traditional political culture on, and the formation of, the political role of the PL A; second, the influence of domestic political struggles and external military conflicts on the development of the political role of the PLA; and the third, the analysis of the transition of the PLA's political role from the structure and personnel arrangements of the CCPCC Within the above-mentioned three scopes, this thesis make a thorough discussion on the following: (1) The relationship between the structure of the PRC and the formation of the PLA's political role; (2) How has ideology influenced the army's political role; (3) What is Mao's viewpoint and his influence on the development of the army's political role; (4) What is the link between the army and the party, and how has this developed; (6) What accounts for the expansion of the PLA's political functions; (7) What is the influence of political factional struggles on the PLA's political role; (8) Is it political institution or military institution that controls the recruitment of the military elite; (9) What are the disparities between the military elite in handling international conflicts and what are their political considerations; (10) What is the Party's position in the army; (11) How have the Party’s important meetings and personnel arrangements influenced the rise and fall of the PLA's political role

Investigation of the heavy metal contents in the environment and aquatic organisms of Chang-hua coastal area

The objective of this study is to investigate the heavy metal pollution in our environment by sampling and analyzing the concentration of heavy metal in seawater, sediment, and aquatic organisms from the seaside along the Chang-hua Coastal Industrial Park. The Chang-hua Coastal Industrial Park, located by the west coast of Chung-hua county in middle Taiwan, is a large-scale and multi-functional industrial estate with industrial production, residence and leisure possibilities. Hsienhsi District is situated at the northern part of the Industrial Park. Lukang District is at the southern part. In the middle of it, it is Lunwei District. In the Chung-hua Coastal Industrial Park, there are the second most electroplate and metal coating factories in Taiwan. Metal waste from the process of electroplating and coasting could easily pollute the tidal flat in Chang-hua Coastal Industrial Park. In order to prevent potential pollution taking place, this study took seawater, segment, and the aquatic organisms from the coast of the Chung-hua Coastal Industrial Park to monitoring the concentration level of copper(Cu), zinc(Zn), nickel(Ni), lead(Pb), chromium(Cr) and cadmium(Cd) in each index.
The bioconcentration factor (BCF) indicates distinctions of accumulation in various matrixes. Especially from BCFW and BCFS demonstrate that soldier crab is a better index to illustrate the accumulation of Pb and Cr. Muricidae is a better index for showing Cd accumulating concentration. Furthermore, saccostreamordax is the best index for illustrating accumulative level of Ni. Oyster is better in showing accumulating of Cu and Zn. Though each organism shows distinct accumulation of particular metal, they can still illustrate the concentration of other selected metals to image the pollution of the environment.
The comparison of metal accumulating levels in seawater, segment, and aquatic organisms from each test site demonstrated: the heavy metal concentration at site2 was much higher than at the other sites. The second most heavy metal concentration was at site6 and site8. Matrixes at site4 contained the lowest heavy metal concentration. The result was thought to be caused by current capacities of factories in three districts of Chang-hua Coastal Industrial Park. Site2 was at Hsienhsi Districtin, in which contained about 58% of factories in residence. In Lukang District, it reached the highest-77%-where was site 6 and site 8. In terms of Site4, it situated at Lunwei District, where was Lunwei Harbor Reservation with least development following by least capacity of factories. Furthermore, without a sound environmental-protection biological sewage treatment device, residues and chemical waste produced from various highly contaminant industries would bring about this concentration comparison result as well

Material for Art Research: Portrait of Hsin-lo-shan-jen by Chang Ssu-chiao: A Material for Biography of Hua Yen
Full text linkRecently pubilshed Collection of Painting in T'ien-chin (Tientsin) Municipal Art Museum 天津市藝術博物館藏畫集 contains a portrait of Hsinlo-shan-jên 新羅山人 (Hua Yen 華嵒) painted by his disciple Chang Ssŭ-chiao 張四教. When the author wrote the paper “Picture Embodying the Ode to an Autumnal Voice' by Hua Yen” in No. 236 of this journal, he referred to various theo ries concerning the date of his death, explaining that no decisive conclusion could be given. However, after that, by means of analyzing the explanatory inscription and the inscription associated with the signature in this portrait painting, the date of his death has now been determined by the author. Chang Ssu-chiao states that he painted this portrait on the tenth day of the seventh month of the thirty-second year
of the Ch'ien-lung Era (1767) and that it was twelve years after the death of Hua Yen. We cannot know whether this is a full twelve years after or whether it is the twelfth year if one counts from the year of his death. But, as his work “Picture Embodying the Ode to an Autumnal Voice” is a work of the the tenth month of the twentieth year of the Ch’ien-lung Era (1755), the possible date of his death cannot be before the tenth month of the twentieth year of the Ch'ien-lung Era or later than the end of the twenty-first year of the Ch'ien-lung Era.
Incidentally, from the inscription in the painting, we can learn the approximate time of his trips to and from Yang-chou 揚州 and bits of his painting theory he discussed with Chang Ssă-chiao.journal articl

Strategic Planning of Festivals: A Case Study of Flowers in Chang-Hua
No full text[[abstract]]Chang-Hua County Government has held 7 Taiwan Flower Exhibitions consecutively since the first time in Shijou Park in 2004. The main purpose of these activities is to promote the flower industry of Chang-Hua County. The goal of this study is to investigate the strategic planning of festivals from sponsors’ point of views. These include three parts, which are strategic management of activities, human resource management of activities, and promotion of activities. The scope of this study is based on the festival held in Shijou Park: The 2010 Flowers in Chang-Hua. This researcher adopted case study and document analysis of qualitative research method to collect the necessary data and employed indepth interview technique to interview stakeholders including organizers, sponsors, tour guides, company participants, tourists and local residents. This research has found that the activity was conducted and planned by Chang-Hua County Government; while Chang-Hua County has commissioned to seek sponsors. The short-term lack of human resource is aided and resolved by Tour Guide Association of Chang-Hua County and the main channel of promotion is the medium and Internet. Conclusion of this research is as follows :Activity Strategies of Chung-Hua County are :1.take advantage of industries of local features, 2.take advantage of government resources, 3.take advantage of civilians’ power of union, 4.Combine local creativity and 5.expand activity ranges.
