Measuring and analyzing German and Spanish customer satisfaction of using the iPhone 4S Mobile Cloud service
Full text linkThis paper presents the customer satisfaction analysis for measuring popularity in the Mobile Cloud, which is an emerging area in the Cloud and Big Data Computing. Organizational Sustainability Modeling (OSM) is the proposed method used in this research. The twelve-month of German and Spanish consumer data are used for the analysis to investigate the return and risk status associated with the ratings of customer satisfaction in the iPhone 4S Mobile Cloud services. Results show that there is a decline in the satisfaction ratings in Germany and Spain due to economic downturn and competitions in the market, which support our hypothesis. Key outputs have been explained and they confirm that all analysis and interpretations fulfill the criteria for OSM. The use of statistical and visualization method proposed by OSM can expose unexploited data and allows the stakeholders to understand the status of return and risk of their Cloud strategies easier than the use of other data analysis
Redundant operators in the exact renormalisation group and in the f(R) approximation to asymptotic safety
No full textIn this paper we review the definition and properties of redundant operators in the exact renormalisation group. We explain why it is important to require them to be eigenoperators and why generically they appear only as a consequence of symmetries of the particular choice of renormalisation group equations. This clarifies when Newton’s constant and or the cosmological constant can be considered inessential. We then apply these ideas to the Local Potential Approximation and approximations of a similar spirit such as the f (R) approximation in the asymptotic safety programme in quantum gravity. We show that these approximations can break down if the fixed point does not support a ‘vacuum’ solution in the appropriate domain: all eigenoperators become redundant and the physical space of perturbations collapses to a point. We show that this is the case for the recently discovered lines of fixed points in the f (R) flow equations

Of the 14 known species of Florarctus, including the recently described Florarctus wunai Fujimoto, 2015, only three have undivided lateral alae: Florarctus salvati Delamare Deboutteville & Renaud-Mornant, 1965, Florarctus vulcanis Renaud-Mornant, 1987, and F. kwoni. The alae of the specimens from Moorea, although slightly wider than described by Chang & Rho (1997), are rocket-shaped (Fig. 2 A), whereas they are roundish in both F. s al va t i and F. vulcanis. Our specimens also clearly show “mammilliform” sculpturing on the dorsal cuticle. Furthermore, in our specimens the procuticular supports (caestus) form a continuous belt with ill-defined contours lacking lateral processes (Fig. 2 B), fitting the original description of F. k w o ni (Chang & Rho, 1997). In contrast, in F. s a l v a t i and F. vulcanis the procuticular supports lack the continuous belt, rather forming multiple, individual lateral diverticula. In F. salvati these diverticula are digit-shaped while in F. vulcanis they are enlarged distally. (Renaud-Mornant 1987). F. R. Leavis: The Creative University
No full textThis is a critical introduction to the educational thought of F. R. Leavis (1895-1978), the greatest English literary critic of the twentieth century, providing the first in-depth examination of Leavis's ideas in relation to contemporary mass higher education. During the course of a long, prolific and controversial academic career, which saw him take issue with figures such as Wittgenstein, T. S. Eliot and C. P. Snow, Leavis became one of the most articulate advocates for the idea of the university as 'a centre of consciousness and human responsibility' in the face of what he saw as the relentless technological drive of civilisation. With the journal Scrutiny which he co-founded, as well as his critical writings, Leavis became a decisive influence on generations of teachers in Britain and overseas. Widely misrepresented as narrowly elitist, his ideas about 'the creative university', with their radical, student-centred approach to teaching, constitute a powerful resource for a higher education system grappling with the contradictory demands of continuity and change. Based on original research, the study provides an overview of Leavis's life, work and heritage and his educational world view, and a comprehensive exploration of Leavis's pedagogy from theoretical and practical perspectives.
