    Postoperative pain arises after surgery and includes acute pain that needs to be treated immediately. The postoperative phase must always be observed because it relates to the patient's recovery process. The research aims to analyze the relationship between pain intensity and sleep quality in elective postoperative patients at Prof. Dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis USU Medan Hospital. The research was conducted using an analytical observation approach with a cross-sectional design. Respondent’s data was collected only once and simultaneously using the Numeric Pain Rating Scale (NRS) and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaires. The data will be analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), including Somers’ d test. Based on the analysis of 125 respondent’s data, the highest experienced pain intensity by patients was moderate pain intensity with 62 respondents (49,6%), mild pain intensity with 48 respondents (38,4%), and severe pain intensity with 15 respondents (12%). In the sleep quality, the poor sleep quality group was the highest, with 68 respondents (54,4%) and the good sleep quality group, with 57 respondents (45,6%). This analysis shows a significant relationship and very strong correlation between pain intensity and sleep quality (p-value <0,001 and r = 0,789).     Background. Anemia still become global public health problem, especially on pregnant women who categories as high-risk groups. Hemodilution results in a decrease of hemoglobin. According to WHO data (2019), the global prevalence of anemia in pregnant women reached 36.5%. In Indonesia, the prevalence of anemia in pregnant women increased from 37.1% in 2013 to 48.9% in 2018. Pregnant women could have serious complications such as bleeding and infection which increases the risk of maternal mortality. Goal. To determine the picture of anemia in pregnancy and childbirth at the Prof. Dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis Hospital Medan. Method. This study is a descriptive study with a cross sectional design. The data used is secondary data obtained from medical records of mothers giving birth at Prof. Dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis Hospital Medan for the period January 2023-December 2023. Sampling was carried out using the total sampling method, in which all samples that met the research criteria were included as research samples. Results. From this study, it was found that of the 176 samples of pregnant women who met the criteria, more were found aged 20-35 years (76.7%); multipara (48.3%); pregnancy distance ≥2 years (52.8%); ANC <6 times (63.6%), high school education level (49.4%); no history of bleeding (77.8%); aterm gestation (85.2%); mild anemia (51.7%); hypochrome microcytic anemia (50%);normal birth weight (95,4%).     Introduction: Myopia is a condition of nearsightedness that occurs when the image of distant objects is focused in front of the retina when the eyes are not accommodating. Objective: To determine the prevalence of myopia before and after the Covid-19 pandemic at Prof. Dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis Hospital, Universitas Sumatera Utara. Method: This research employs a cross-sectional analytical method using secondary data from the medical records of Prof. Chairuddin P. Lubis Hospital, Universitas Sumatera Utara, covering the periods before the pandemic (January 2018 to December 2019) and after the Covid-19 pandemic (November 2021 to October 2023). Results and Discussion: The total number of patients at Prof. Dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis Hospital, Universitas Sumatera Utara, before and after the Covid-19 pandemic was 262 patients. It was found that before the Covid-19 pandemic, there were 155 individuals with myopia (59.2%), and after the pandemic, there were 107 individuals (40.8%). Regarding gender distribution, before the pandemic, there were 93 females (60%) and 62 males (40%), while after the Covid-19 pandemic, there were 58 females (54.2%) and 49 males (45.8%). In the age group before the pandemic, 40 individuals (25.8%) were aged 5-11 years, and 115 individuals (74.2%) were aged 12-19 years. After the Covid-19 pandemic, 26 individuals (24.3%) were aged 5-11 years, and 81 individuals (75.7%) were aged 12-19 years. Conclusion: The prevalence of myopia at Prof. Chairuddin P. Lubis Hospital, Universitas Sumatera Utara, shows a decrease after the Covid-19 pandemic period. Additionally, there is a tendency for myopia to occur more frequently in female patients compared to male patients, and the majority of myopia patients fall within the age group of 12-19 years.57 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

    Background. Elderly individuals are highly vulnerable to diabetes and musculoskeletal diseases. Diabetes leads to muscle mass and function loss, which ultimately results in decreased mobility and speed. Inadequate nutrition can also lead to decreased muscle strength and reduced metabolic activity, culminating in frailty. Purposes. This study aims to determine the relationship between nutritional status and frailty in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at Prof. Chairuddin P. Lubis Hospital in Medan. Method. This research is an observational analytical study with a cross-sectional design. The research sample consists of elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at Prof. Chairuddin P. Lubis Hospital in Medan, using consecutive sampling. Nutritional status assessment was done using the Mini Nutritional Assessment (MNA), and frailty assessment was done using the RAPUH questionnaire. Results. From 51 patients, 13.7% were malnourished, and 31.4% experienced frailty. The correlation test with a Chi- Square test between nutritional status and frailty showed a p-value of <0.05. Conclusion. There is a significant relationship between nutritional status and frailty in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at Prof. Chairuddin P.     Background. Hypertension is a global health problem that attacks 1.28 billion adults aged 30-79 years. Hypertension is a chronic disease characterized by an increase in systolic blood pressure ≥140 mmHg and/or diastolic ≥ 90 mmHg. Calculation of Body Mass Index (BMI) is a method for determining nutritional status in adults. Every increased BMI will increase the risk of hypertension. An increase in the BMI value is followed by an increase in blood pressure, which increase the chance of developing hypertension as well as the degree of hypertension. Aim. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between BMI and the degree of hypertension in hypertensive sufferers at Prof. Chairuddin P. Lubis Medan Hospital. Methods. This research uses a cross sectional design and descriptive analytical methods. The sample for this study was 84 people obtained from secondary data of medical records in Prof. Chairuddin P. Lubis Hospital Medan and used simple random sampling techniques. The collected data was analyzed by a statistical program using Fisher-Exact test with a significance level of p < 0.05. Results. The Results of Fisher-Exact test is p= 0.02 (<0.05), which means there is a relationship between BMI and the degree of hypertension. Conclusion.     Objective: Analyzing the conformity of the results of ultrasonography examination with the results of histopathology readings in patients with breast cancer at Prof. Dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis Hospital, USU Medan. Method: A cross-sectional study looking for concordance of ultrasonography and histopathology examination results in 48 patients in 2023 who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: From the results of ultrasonography examination of 48 patients, 29 cases of malignant tumors were found, and 19 cases of benign tumors with the most malignant tumor cases being Ca Mammae and the most benign tumor cases being Fibroadenoma Mammae. From the results of biopathology examination of 48 patients, 26 cases of malignant tumors were found, and 22 cases of benign tumors with the most malignant tumor cases being Invasive Breast Carcinoma and the most benign tumor cases being Fibroadenoma Mammae. Based on the Fischer Exact test, there was no agreement between the results of ultrasonography readings and the results of histopathology readings in breast cancer patients at the Prof. dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis USU Hospital (p <0.01).     Burnout is a term for the symptom of chronic stress which occurs in the work place. A nurse’ profession is vulnerable to high work stress since she is faced by challangeing demand for work, including the serious work load. Consecutive shift and long work hours will surely affect her performance. The objective of the research is to find out the correlation between burnout and nurse practitioners’ performance at Prof. Dr. Chairuddin Panusunan Lubis Hospital, using descriptive correlation design. The samples are 111 nurses as the respondents, taken by using simple random sampling technique. The research instruments are Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) and Pearson Product Moment. The finding of practitioners’ performance at the Prof. Dr. Chairuddin Panusunan Lubis Hospital at p value=-0.557.     Introduction. The level of knowledge and adherence to antibiotics is very important in preventing antibiotic resistance. The high rate of antibiotic resistance poses a threat to the success of treatment, especially for infectious diseases caused by bacteria. Objective. Knowing the level of knowledge and compliance of outpatients at Prof. Hospital. Dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis USU in the use of antibiotics. Method. This research used a cross sectional design with a qualitative descriptive approach and consecutive sampling method for sample selection. Then analyzed and presented in the form of tables and diagrams. Results. Most patients have insufficient knowledge with very good compliance regarding antibiotics with a percentage of 56,56%.     Background: Breast tumor is a disease with a high prevalence in Indonesian society. Objective: To determine and describe the characteristics of breast tumor cases of outpatients and inpatients at Prof. dr. Chairuddin P Lubis Hospital in 2021-2022. Methods: This study used a "Cross Sectional" research design. The sampling technique used was "Total Sampling". The sample size is 135. The data collection method in this study used secondary data in the form of medical records. Data analysis with "Microsoft Excel". Research Results: Most breast tumor patients were female 134 people (99.3%). The average age of patients is 45 years. Hospitalization is the most common type of treatment with 92 people (68.1%). The most common management for patients is operative action, totaling 62 people (45.9%). The most frequent problem location in patients was the right breast, totaling 68 people (50.4%). The most common histopathologic tissue results were invasive, totaling 72 people (53.3%). Conclusion: Breast tumors in Prof. Chairuddin P Lubis Hospital are mostly experienced by older women aged 46-55 years. Continuous research on breast tumors is needed.69 HalamanSkripsi Sarjan
