    The presented bachelor thesis analyzes the time accessibility of centers, public administration from parts of municipalities within the administrative districts of these centers. This is realized in the three former districts of the South Bohemian Region - Strakonice, Pisek and Tábor based on a statistical survey of the availability of both public and private transport. First, however, the work describes the theoretical background and the most important sources from which the author draws. The following explains the key concepts, which operates in the work of the author. In chapter Methodology work is explained in detail the procedure for creating part of this work. The research results are adequately assessed and cartographically represented

    The spatial and temporal patterns of the forest background optical properties are critically important in retrieving the biophysical parameters of the forest canopy (overstory) and in ecosystem modeling. In this paper we carry out background reflectivity mapping over conterminous United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean land mass using Multi-angle Imaging SpectroRadiometer (MISR) data at 1.1 km resolution. The refined methodology uses the nadir and 45°forward directions of the MISR camera images. The background reflectivity is shown to vary between coniferous and deciduous stands, particularly in the near-infrared band, and with the overall amount of overstory vegetation. The largest seasonal differences were observed over a boreal region. The main drawback is a high amount of missing MISR data due to the presence of clouds and other atmospheric effects. The paper also contains a demonstration of the effect on LAI estimates when the dynamic background reflectivity information is inserted into a global LAI algorithm. Multi-angular remote sensing is thus shown to enable us to effectively map yet another forest structure parameter over large areas, which was not possible using mono-angle data

    Leaf angle distribution (LAD) is an important property which influences the spectral reflectance and radiation transmission properties of vegetation canopies, and hence interception, absorption and photosynthesis. It is a fundamental parameter of radiative transfer models of vegetation at all scales. Yet, the difficulty in measuring LAD causes it to be also one of the most poorly characterized parameters, and is typically either assumed to be random, or to follow one of a very small number of parametric ‘archetype’ functions. Terrestrial LiDAR scanning (TLS) is increasingly being used to measure canopy structure, but LAD estimation from TLS has been limited thus far. We introduce a fast and simple method for detection of LAD information from terrestrial LiDAR scanning (TLS) point clouds. Here, it is shown that LAD information can be obtained by simply accumulating all valid planes fitted to points in a leaf point cloud. As points alone do not have any normal vector, subsets of points around each point are used to calculate the normal vectors. Importantly, for the first time we demonstrate the effect of distance on the reliable LAD information retrieval with TLS data. We test, validate, and compare the TLS-based method with established leveled digital photography (LDP) approach. We do this using data from both real trees covering the full range of existing leaf angle distribution type, but also from 3D Monte Carlo ray tracing. Crucially, this latter approach allows us to simulate both images and TLS point clouds from the same trees, for which the LAD is known explicitly a priori. This avoids the difficulty of assessing LAD manually, which being a difficult and potentially error-prone process, is an additional source of error in assessing the accuracy of LAD extraction methods from TLS or photography. We show that compared to the LDP measurement technique, TLS is not limited by leaf curvature, and depending on the distance of the TLS from the target, is potentially capable of retrieving leaf angle information from more complex, non-flat leaf surfaces. We demonstrate the possible limitation of TLS measurement techniques for the retrieval of LAD information for more distant canopies, or for taller trees (h > 20 m)

    In the theoretical part of this thesis are discussed concepts of collective memory created by Maurice Halbwachs, Pierre Nora and Jan Assmann, the author considers them inspiring for the research about forming of collective identity. Case study is given to the South Bohemian town of Pisek and the changing of its identity in the second half of the 19th century. It gives an overview of available sources and detailed biographies of people, who were most important for the forming of local identity. By using the analysis of dictionary entries are recognized basic attributes of local identity and their various forms, focusing particularly on process of modernization.     My Bachelor thesis relates to the use of school gardens in Písek and around. It was prepared a detailed survey of SEP (school education program) of five selected schools with regard to the inclusion of activities conducted on school gardens and research in real conditions of use of school gardens in elementary schools through a questionnaire survey. The author focused mainly on research facilities in schools for teaching in areas of school gardens, range of lessons, topics of school gardens use, teaching methods, or elements of ROT (research-oriented teaching), and she gathered a list of cultivated plants and farmed animals. Based on the results it is evident that the best-equipped and most widely used garden is at Basic school Tyla in Pisek

    ABSTRACT Act 108/2006 Coll., On social services, has made the issue of individually planned care a widely discussed subject, since it obligated the providers of social services, inter alia, to plan their activities in view of individual needs. The individually planned care is also one of major standards supposed to be met, if the services are to be rendered effectively and in good quality. The Bachelor paper aimed to explore the process of planning as applied at the Světlo (Light) Senior Citizen Home in the town of Písek. Moreover, the author strived to find out the extent to which the clients and the personnel were informed on the individual planning; in which way the relevant documentation was prepared on the premises; and whether the documentation satisfied the legal requirements. The theoretical section devoted attention to the principle concepts such as age; aging; and biological, mental and social changes in the lives of senior citizens. The author endeavored to specify the differences between the care that the citizens were given at residential facilities before 1989 and what they receive today. The next section deals with Act 108/2006 Coll. and presents facts about the Světlo Senior Citizen Home. The practical section was primarily intended to scrutinize the planning procedure specifically applied. The relevant qualitative research relied on the method semi-guided interviews held with five clients and with the related key personnel. Documentation was examined using the method of document analysis. The research yielded these conclusions: The facility plans the individual care effectively and in good quality. The clients are adequately informed on the process of individual planning, and the personnel are regularly instructed and ready to offer a great professional competence. Documentation is maintained properly, fully meeting what the legislation requires. Results of the research can provide information on the planning process of individual care, and they can become a source of inspiration not only to workers engaged in rendering social services but also to the general public

Publisher Copyright: © 2023 The Author(s)Remote sensing using spectral data has been commonly applied to retrieve tree layer properties while the monitoring of forest floor remains a less studied topic. We investigated the links between light availability at forest floor, and forest floor's spectral reflectance properties (350–2500 nm) and fractional cover across boreal and temperate Europe. We hypothesized that tree canopy structure (and thus, light availability at forest floor) is linked not only to the vegetation composition of forest floor, as has been shown previously, but also to forest floor's spectral reflectance properties, and that these relationships differ between forest biomes. Data were collected in situ from a total of 67 forest stands in southern boreal, hemiboreal, temperate floodplain, and temperate mountain sites. The variation of light availability at forest floor was linked to both the forest floor's composition and spectral reflectance properties. Each study site exhibited site-specific spectral features and a different mean reflectance spectrum. Openness in tree canopies was related to an increase in the fractional cover of vascular plants and to a decrease of plant litter, consequently enhancing the forest floors’ spectral absorptance features in the red and shortwave-infrared wavelengths, as well as reflectance in the near-infrared region. Also, the variations of normalized difference index values and red edge positions as functions light availability at forest floor and forest floor's composition were different for each site. Our results suggest that incorporating biome-specific relationships between tree canopy structure and forest floor reflectance properties would improve interpretation of optical remote sensing data.
