Assignment of some of these in cm-wave rotational spectra has previously been reported, but it was not possible to extend that work directly to mm-wave spectra. \vspace{0.2cm} Application of graphical Loomis-Wood techniques built into AABS}, 231 (2005)} and CAAARS}, 229 (2005)} spectral analysis packages eventually allowed successful assignment of the remaining four conformers: GgGg, GgGg', TtTt, and TgTg nn-propanol. It was realised that rotational energies in (GgGg, GgGg') and (TtTt, TgTg) pairs of conformers are highly coupled, but also amenable to description in terms of the Coriolis interaction mechanism. This allowed very precise determination of some energy level differences, such as ΔE(GgGg)=3.035046(7)\Delta E(Gg'-Gg)=3.035046(7) cm1^{-1}. The assignment was checked against abinitioab initio calculations, and is supported by new, precise determinations of dipole moments of some conformers, which were carried out using supersonic expansion cavity-FTMW spectroscopy

    The long-wavelength view of GG Tau A: rocks in the ring world

    We present the first detection of GG Tau A at centimetre wavelengths, made with the Arcminute Microkelvin Imager Large Array at a frequency of 16 GHz (λ = 1.8 cm). The source is detected at >6 σrms with an integrated flux density of S16GHz = 249 ± 45 µJy. We use these new centimetre-wave data, in conjunction with additional measurements compiled from the literature, to investigate the long-wavelength tail of the dust emission from this unusual protoplanetary system. We use an MCMC-based method to determine maximum likelihood parameters for a simple parametric spectral model and consider the opacity and mass of the dust contributing to the microwave emission. We derive a dust mass of Md ~ 0.1 Msun, constrain the dimensions of the emitting region and find that the opacity index at λ > 7 mm is less than unity, implying a contribution to the dust population from grains exceeding ~4 cm in size. We suggest that this indicates coagulation within the GG Tau A system has proceeded to the point where dust grains have grown to the size of small rocks with dimensions of a few centimetres. Considering the relatively young age of the GG Tau association in combination with the low derived disc mass, we suggest that this system may provide a useful test case for rapid core accretion planet formation models

    Triangular Constellations in Flows

    Particles advected on the surface of a fluid can exhibit fractal clustering. The local structure of a fractal set is described by its dimension DD, which is the exponent of a power-law relating the mass N{\cal N} in a ball to its radius ε\varepsilon: NεD{\cal N}\sim \varepsilon^D. It is desirable to characterise the {\em shapes} of constellations of points sampling a fractal measure, as well as their masses. The simplest example is the distribution of shapes of triangles formed by triplets of points, which we investigate for fractals generated by chaotic dynamical systems. The most significant parameter describing the triangle shape is the ratio zz of its area to the radius of gyration squared. We show that the probability density of zz has a phase transition: P(z)P(z) is independent of ε\varepsilon and approximately uniform below a critical flow compressibility βc\beta_{\rm c}, which we estimate. For β>βc\beta>\beta_{\rm c} the distribution appears to be described by two power laws: P(z)zα1P(z)\sim z^{\alpha_1} when 1zzc(ε)1\gg z\gg z_{\rm c}(\varepsilon), and P(z)zα2P(z)\sim z^{\alpha_2} when zzc(ε)z\ll z_{\rm c}(\varepsilon)

    Dynamic of large particles embedded in shear flows

    Large particles (DηD \gg \eta) immersed in a closed turbulent flow tend to explore in a non-uniformly way the cavity in which they are placed. Here we study the slow dynamics of large particles (with various size) advected in closed turbulent flows at different Reynolds numbers. We investigate the spatial sampling experienced by large particles in two fully turbulent closed flows generated between counter-rotating disks (so called von Karman flow), focusing in the slow frequency's (fslow<Ωf_{slow} < \Omega, where Ω\Omega is the rotation rate of the driving impellers) and characterize the power spectrum of the slow fluctuations of particles position. Both considered flows share a common feature : the presence of a shear region dividing two mean re-circulation regions ; however the spatial symmetries and the temporal behaviors of both setups are very different. The principal result in this research is that despite these differences both flows exhibit a well defined slow dynamical behavior that can be identified in Fourier space.     Soft gluon resummation in the signal-background interference process of gg(→ h ∗) → ZZ

    We present a precise theoretical prediction for the signal-background interference process of gg(→ h ∗) → ZZ, which is useful to constrain the Higgs boson decay width and to measure Higgs couplings to the SM particles. The approximate NNLO K-factor is in the range of 2.05 − 2.45 (1.85 − 2.25), depending on M ZZ , at the 8 (13) TeV LHC. And the soft gluon resummation can increase the approximate NNLO result by about 10% at both the 8 TeV and 13 TeV LHC. The theoretical uncertainties including the scale, uncalculated multi-loop amplitudes of the background and PDF+αs are roughly O(10%) at NNLL′. We also confirm that the approximate K-factors in the interference and the pure signal processes are the same

    Probiotic Edible Films Supplemented with Psyllium (<i>Plantago ovata</i>) Mucilage Containing <i>Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus</i> GG: Coating for Fresh Apple Slices

    Sodium caseinate-based edible film containing probiotic Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus GG was supplemented with psyllium mucilage powder (PMP; %0, %0.25, %0.50, and %0.75). The obtained films were examined for physicochemical, optical, mechanical, and structural properties, as well as probiotic viability. Moreover, a probiotic film solution (0.25% PMP, the most suitable film formulation) was applied to coat fresh apple slices, and the samples were evaluated for weight loss, total soluble solids content, color properties, and probiotic viability during storage (12 days at 4 degrees C). The addition of PMP had a significant (p < 0.05) effect on the drying process and storage stability of the probiotic. The effect of PMP incorporation on the thickness, density, water solubility, and tensile strength values of the films was significant (p < 0.05). The increase in PMP concentration resulted in a reduction in the number of pores on the surface of the film and the formation of a more homogeneous film cross-section. Although the coating process limited weight loss in fresh apple slices, the browning index (BI) of coated apples was higher. At the end of storage, the BI value of the coated apple slices was 55.89 +/- 3.82, while the BI value of the control sample was 30.64 +/- 2.85. Moreover, the coated apple slices contained sufficient levels of probiotics (6 Log CFU g-1) at the end of storage. The results showed that sodium caseinate-based film matrices containing PMP were suitable carriers for L. rhamnosus GG and fresh apple slices coated with a film solution containing 0.25% PMP could be considered a probiotic product

    The two-loop helicity amplitudes for gg → V 1 V 2 → 4 leptons

    We compute the two-loop massless QCD corrections to the helicity amplitudes for the production of two electroweak gauge bosons in the gluon fusion channel, gg → V 1 V 2, keeping the virtuality of the vector bosons V 1 and V 2 arbitrary and taking their decays into leptons into account. The amplitudes are expressed in terms of master integrals, whose representation has been optimised for fast and reliable numerical evaluation. We provide analytical results and a public C++ code for their numerical evaluation on HepForge at http://vvamp.hepforge.org. © 2015, The Author(s)

    Mannose binding lectin and tumor necrosis factor-alpha gene polymorphism in tuberculosis patients

    Bütün dünyada önemini sürdüren bir enfeksiyon hastalığı olan tüberkülozun etkeni olan mycobacterium tuberculosis ile enfekte olan bireylerin hemen hemen tamamında enfeksiyon gelişmekte, ancak bu kişilerin %5-10 kadarında hastalık tablosu ortaya çıkmaktadır. Bu hastaların çok azında altta yatan bir risk faktörü tespit edilebilmektedir. Özellikle son yıllarda yapılan çalışmalar, bu durumdan sosyoekonomik faktörler, kalabalık yaşam ve malnütrisyon gibi çevresel faktörler kadar, konağa ait genetik faktörlerin de sorumlu olduğunu ortaya koymuş ve tüberküloza genetik yatkınlık oluşturan pek çok genetik faktör belirlenmiştir. Bunlar arasında mannoz bağlayıcı lektin ve tümör nekrozis faktör-alfa üzerinde de durulmaktadır. MBL, mycobacterilerin makrofajlara alınmasını sağlayan bir bağlayıcı protein olarak görev yapmaktadır. Bu nedenle düşük serum MBL düzeylerine neden olan fonksiyonel mutasyonların pulmoner tüberküloza yatkınlığı artırabileceği üzerinde durulmaktadır. TNF-α ise mycobacteri enfeksiyonlarının hem invivo hem de invitro kontrolünde rol oynayan önemli bir sitokindir. Bu çalışmanın amacı tüberküloz tanısı alan olgular ile sağlıklı kontrol grubunda TNF-α ve MBL gen polimorfizmi sıklığını karşılaştırarak, tüberküloz ile TNF-α ve MBL gen polimorfizmi arasındaki ilişkiyi ortaya koymaktır. Çalışmamıza 69 tüberkülozlu ve 70 sağlıklı birey dahil edildi. Çalışmada izole edilen DNA’larda MBL ve TNF-α A/G gen polimorfizmi belirlemek için PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) yöntemi kullanılarak genotipleme yapıldı. Agaroz jel elektroforezinde oluşan bantlara göre genotip tayini yapıldı. İstatistiksel değerlendirme Uludağ Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Biyoistatistik Anabilim Dalı’nda SPSS 13.0 paket programı kullanılarak yapıldı. TNF-α genotip çalışmasında tüberküloz grubunda 0 kişide AA genotipi, %18.8 kişide GA genotipi, %81.2 kişide GG genotipi mevcuttu. Kontrol grubunda; %2.9 kişide AA genotipi, %11.4 kişide GA genotipi ve %85.7 kişide GG genotipi saptandı. MBL genotip incelemesinde ise tüberküloz grubunda %11.6 AA genotipi, %18.8 kişide GA genotipi, %69.6 kişide GG genotipi saptanırken, kontrol grubunda %17.1 kişide AA genotipi, %15.7 kişide GA genotipi ve %67.1 kişide GG genotipi bulundu. Her iki grup arasında MBL gen polimorfizmi açısından anlamlı bir farklılık gözlenmedi (p=0.614). Bulgularımız TNF-α ve MBL gen polimorfizmleri ile tüberküloz gelişme riski arasında bir ilişki olmadığını göstermiştir; ancak, olgu sayısı sınırlı olduğu için bu sonuç daha geniş serili çalışmalarla desteklenmelidir.Tuberculosis is still an important infectious disease all around the world. Its etiologic agent, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, infects nearly all exposed people, but only 5-10% of them developed clinical disease. In only a few of these individuals, an underlying condition can be found. Genetic factors of the host are as important determinants for developing tuberculosis as socioeconomical status, crowded living conditions and malnutrition. Many genetic factors have been studied and TNF-α (Tumor Necrosis Factor- alpha) and MBL (Mannose Binding Lectin) have been found to be associated with tuberculosis. MBL functions as a binding protein which provides mycobacterium to take in macrophages. So it is emphasized that functional mutations which lead to low serum MBL levels can increase susceptibility to pulmonary tuberculosis. TNF-α is an important cytokine that play role in the control of mycobacterial infections both in vivo and in vitro. The purpose of this study is to investigate the presence of TNF-α and MBL genetic polymorphism in tuberculosis patients. It is intended to evaluate whether this genetic variability is a predisposition. 69 patients and 70 healthy control subjects were enrolled in our study. Genotyping was made by using PCR methods to determine TNF-α and MBL A/G gene polymorphism in DNA that are isolated in study. Genotypes were performed according to bands occurring on agarose gel electrophoresis. Statistical analyses were performed at Uludag University Biostatistics Department using SPSS version 13.0 programme. The ration of AA genotype was 0%, GA genotype was 18.8% and GG genotype was 81.2% in patients group; AA genotype was 2.9%, GA genotype was 11.4%, GG genotype was 85.7% in control groups for TNF-α. The ration of AA genotype was 11.6%, GA genotype was 18.8 % and GG genotype was 69.6% in patients group; AA genotype was 17.1%, GA genotype was 15.7%, GG genotype was 67.1% in control groups for MBL. There wasn’t statistically significant difference for AA, GA and GG genotypes between patients and controls (p>0.05). Our finding have showed that there is no relationship between TNF-α and MBL gene polymorphism and risk of development of tuberculosis; but this result should be supported by studies due to its limited patient number.Bursa Ataevler Verem Savaş Derneğ
