No full textCERES – Sua tese de doutorado versou sobre a análise de composição corporal, da densidade mineral óssea, da taxa metabólica de repouso e da ingestão alimentar de modelos residentes na cidade de São Paulo. Poucas destas análises apontaram diferenças entre adolescentes modelos e não-modelos. Você acha que o tempo em que as adolescentes estão nessa rotina possa ter influenciado nos resultados?Alexandra - Realmente. De todas as análises feitas, o que mais nos chamou a atenção foi a ingestão calórica inferior entre as modelos (± 1.500kcal), em relação às adolescentes não-modelos (± 2.000kcal), além de uma ingestão menor de ferro e zinco entre as modelos.Ao fazer o estudo, optamos por avaliar adolescentes com mais de 15 anos e que já tinham tido a menarca há mais de dois anos. E fizemos essa escolha porque, em estudos anteriores, vimos que as adolescentes mais velhas apresentavam peso mais baixo e risco de desenvolver transtornos alimentares. Deve-se ressaltar que temos estudado principalmente modelos adolescentes, ou seja, de 10 a 19 anos e, portanto, no momento não temos dados das modelos na idade adulta, embora o Projeto Saúde Modelo atenda a todas as modelos, independentemente da idade. Não temos dados sobre como o tempo de profissão influencia no estado nutricional e sáude desse grupo, mas este está sendo nosso foco de estudo atualmente.
XLBlocks: a Block-based Formula Editor for Spreadsheet Formulas
No full textSpreadsheets are frequently used in industry to support critical business decisions. Unfortunately, they also suffer from error-proneness, which sometimes results in costly consequences. Experiments in the field of program education have shown that programmers tend to make fewer errors and can better focus on the logic of a program if they use a block-based language instead of a textual one. We hypothesize that a block-based formula editor could support spreadsheet users in a similar way. Therefore, we develop XLBlocks and conduct a think-aloud study with 13 experienced spreadsheet users from industry. Participants are asked to create and edit several formulas, using our block-based language. We then ask them to evaluate this editor using the Cognitive Dimensions of Notations framework. We found that for all dimensions the block-based formula editor received a better evaluation than the default text-based formula editor.Accepted author manuscriptSoftware Engineerin
Towards language-parametric semantic editor services based on declarative type system specifications
No full textEditor services assist programmers to more effectively write and comprehend code. Implementing editor services correctly is not trivial. This paper focuses on the specification of semantic editor services, those that use the semantic model of a program. The specification of refactorings is a common subject of study, but many other semantic editor services have received little attention. We propose a language-parametric approach to the definition of semantic editor services, using a declarative specification of the static semantics of the programming language, and constraint solving. Editor services are specified as constraint problems, and language specifications are used to ensure correctness. We describe our approach for the following semantic editor services: reference resolution, find usages, goto subclasses, code completion, and the extract definition refactoring. We do this in the context of Statix, a constraint language for the specification of type systems. We investigate the specification of editor services in terms of Statix constraints, and the requirements these impose on a suitable solver.Programming Language

No full textLast year at the Inaugural TQR Conference, Sally and Dan conducted a workshop entitled Getting Published: Journey into an Editor\u27s Mind, highlighting what an editor thinks when she/he reviews a submitted manuscript to TQR. For the 2011 TQR Conference we will offer a variation of this presentation by including the voice of an author. Our workshop is entitled Getting Published: Journey into a Relationship between Editor and Author. In this workshop we will present a conversation between an author (Paige) and editor (Sally) to reveal an example of a relationship that develops between the two during the process of editorial review at TQR
