2004-2005 Brad Watson
Brad Watson is the author of two collections of stories and two novels, The Heaven of Mercury, which was a finalist for the 2002 National Book Award, and Miss Jane, longlisted for the 2016 National Book Award. His fiction has been published in The New Yorker, Granta, Ecotone, Electric Literature, and the Idaho Review, among other publications. Oral history interview with Brad McLelland
Brad McLelland, author of historical fiction and fantasy novels and co-author of the 'Legends of the Lost Causes' series, talks about his early childhood interest in writing growing up in southern Arkansas. He discusses starting his writing career as a journalist before returning to graduate school to pursue his MFA in fiction at Oklahoma State University. He describes his experience publishing his work and working with a notable New York City publisher and emphasizes how his writing has changed throughout the revising process.
