Multilingual Vaupés: Strengthening Local Capacities for the Research and Promotion of Native Languages.

Proceso de creación de una comunidad energética que contribuya a los cambios sociales en la vereda El Águila del Resguardo Indígena de Canoas, Cauca
Full text linkEste trabajo de grado se enfoca en el desarrollo de una comunidad energética en el Resguardo Indígena de Canoas-Cauca con el objetivo de generar cambios sociales significativos. Se basa en la cosmovisión Nasa, que reconoce al Sol como fuente primordial de energía y busca fusionar este conocimiento ancestral con los enfoques contemporáneos de transición energética. El estudio se apoya en una metodología de Investigación Acción Participativa (IAP) y la CRISSAC (método de investigación denominado la Crianza y Siembra de Sabidurías y Conocimientos de la Universidad Autónoma Indígena Intercultural del Cauca), las dos investigadoras , una mayora lideresa del pueblo Nasa y otra con gran experiencia en el sector energético, logran integrar saberes ancestrales indígenas de la comunidad con el conocimiento en el proceso de Transición Energética
que actualmente vive Colombia en alineación con la agenda política a nivel mundial, lo cual permite involucrar estrechamente a la comunidad en el proceso de democratización de la energía.This master’s thesis focuses on the development of an energy community in the Indigenous Reserve of Canoas-Cauca with the aim of generating significant social changes. It is based on the Nasa worldview, which recognizes the Sun as the primary source of energy and seeks to merge this ancestral knowledge with contemporary approaches to energy transition. The study relies on Participatory Action Research (PAR) methodology and CRISSAC (a research method called the Rearing and Planting of Wisdom and Knowledge of the Intercultural Indigenous Autonomous University of Cauca). Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Uso del área de proceso Service Delivery (SD) de CMMI for services, versión 1.3 como guía para servicios en bibliotecas universitarias en el Valle del Cauca
Full text linkLas bibliotecas universitarias en el Valle del Cauca y el resto del mundo, presentan una dinámica cambiante, con diversas propuestas para la adaptación a las exigencias del mundo académico, tecnológico y empresarial. Estas demandas están orientadas por el cumplimiento de modelos de calidad que buscan un ajuste al entorno y exigen unos resultados fijos, es el caso de ISO 9000, Modelo EFQM, modelo FUNDIBEC, entre otros.
Otra forma de responder a los nuevos retos del entorno universitario, ha incorporado nuevos paradigmas en la gestión de servicios y recursos de bibliotecas, basados en modelos tecnológicos, es el caso de los Integrated Learning Centers, Informations Commons y Learning Commons, todas propuestas de países como Estados Unidos, Canadá, Inglaterra y España, donde el uso de la tecnología como apoyo a los procesos de enseñanza aprendizaje, investigación y producción del conocimiento, muestran nuevas alternativas.
Para lograr la construcción de una guía que lleve a la creación y mejoramiento de servicios de bibliotecas universitarias, se toma como base el área de proceso Service Delivery o SD (Prestación de servicios) de CMMI para servicios, (CMMI-SVC), del Software Engineering Institute; un modelo usado para empresas de software, que usa como base 5 niveles de madurez, donde las empresas llevan a cabo una serie de buenas prácticas, propuestas en 24 áreas de proceso, para tener como resultado deseado, la madurez programada. Se elige esta área de proceso en especial, al encontrar en ella, una base completa orientada a los servicios, respondiendo a la integración de tecnología, recursos humanos, físicos y financieros

No full textThe university in the Valle del Cauca and the rest of the world , libraries have a changing dynamic , with various proposals to modify the requirements of academic, technological and business world. These demands are guided by compliance with quality models seeking an adjustment to the environment and require a fixed results , in the case of ISO 9000, EFQM model FUNDIBEC , among others. Another way to respond to the new challenges of the university environment , has introduced new paradigms in the management of library services and resources based on technology models , the case of Integrated Learning Centers , Informations Commons and Learning Commons , all country proposals such as America, Canada, England and Spain , where the use of technology to support teaching and learning processes , research and production of knowledge, show alternatives. To achieve the construction of a specific guide to the creation and improvement of academic library services , the basis is the Service Delivery process area or SD of CMMI for Services ( CMMI -SVC ) , the Software Engineering Institute , a used model for software companies , using as base 5 maturity levels , where companies conducted a series of best practices proposed in 24 process areas , to have as a desired result, the scheduled maturity. This process area in particular, to find in it a complete service-oriented basis , responding to technology integration , human, physical and financial resources are chosen. The final result shows an adaptation of the Service Delivery process area of CMM- SVC , the context of university libraries , through a guide that houses the practices proposed by the original model and transforms them into activities using tools and methodologies area of librarianship , management and telecommunications . The application of the generic goals and generic practices are outside the scope and should be part of the institutionalization process , organized by each university
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
Full text linkWe conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
