No full textThe research focuses on Gabriele Castelli collection of antiquities set in Rome at the end of XVI century, transferred in Terni and in 1740 at Pesaro, where is until yet preserved. In the first Chapter Anna Santucci deals with the life of Gabriele Castelli, cubicularius intimus of Pope Sixtus V Peretti, and Castelli family from Terni and its estates during the XVI and XVII centuries. In the second Chapter Valeria Purcaro traces the history of the family Baldassini from 1712 and includes a paragraph on the Del Monte-Gozze-Baldassini Palace in Pesaro. In the third Chapter Maria Elisa Micheli displays the information on the collection and its cultural display. A complete catalogue of the 70 ancient and modern pieces follows. A concordance list and a schematic drawing provide for finding each pieces in the inventories and catalogue. The goal is to investigate a minor and peripheral episode into a privileged mirror that frames and reveals the taste for antiquities within a precise geographical area over a long span of time

Sacred dramas were soon produced as literature and became a popular drama genre in the new and growing publishing market. TMany Renaissance authors wrote sacred dramas—including Lorenzo de’ Medici, called Il Magnifico—as they were certain that the genre could be used to guide public and political thought and behavior, and thus educate the whole city. The exhibition featured the theatrical machinery used in these performances, including crucifixes with movable arms, as well as paintings and drawings inspired by sacred dramas

No full textIl prodotto è riferito alla convenzione stipulata tra il Dipartimento ITACA e l’Azienda Sanitaria Locale RMH per l'elaborazione dello ” Studio di fattibilità per il nuovo ospedale dei Castelli. L'attività è stata svolta dal 1999 al 2001 ed è stata articolata in fasi di analisi, verifica, proposizione e valutazione delle alternative di intervento.
L'area individuata per la localizzazione del nuovo ospedale è situata nel Comune di Ariccia. Relativamente a tale attività conto terzi, A.M. Giovenale è stata, come indicato nella Convenzione, Responsabile scientifico (insieme a R. Palumbo e A. Paris) oltre a svolgere attività di coordinamento operativo dei consulenti esperti che hanno costituito il gruppo di lavoro, in diretto rapporto con la committenza.
Nell’ambito di tale attività A.M. Giovenale ha anche elaborato specifici contributi relativi alla definizione della metodologia, all’elaborazione del programma edilizio e degli standard dimensionali per il nuovo ospedale, alla formulazione di layout preliminari alla progettazione

Anna Castelli Ferrieri and the Tectonics of Plastic in Industrial Design
No full textThe article examines three key works by the Italian designer Anna Castelli Ferrieri (1918 – 2006), whose career began in urban planning and architecture yet proceeded to gain the most success within the field of industrial design. It foregrounds her interdisciplinary career, traversing professional boundaries between the fields of urban planning, architecture and industrial design through a socio-technical framework of the material objects that she designed. By investigating the commercial success of the Kartell 4970-84 Modular containers, the 4870 Stackable Chair, and the 4822-44 Stool, this research identifies a particular characteristic of Castelli Ferrieri’s design method; an approach which, this article argues, draws upon her education, knowledge, and experience in architecture. It is with these projects that we can see how Castelli Ferrieri attempted to create, with the limitations of manufacturing processes and the characteristics of materials: a tectonics of plastic

No full textAlessandro Di Pietro: Ghostwriting Paul Thek, edited by Cornelia Mattiacci and Peter Benson Miller, is conceived as a compendium of texts and notes generated for the artist Alessandro Di Pietro as he developed the exhibition project Ghostwriting Paul Thek: Time Capsules and Reliquaries. The traveling exhibition—which appeared at the Watermill Center, New York; CAN Centre d’Art Neuchâtel, Switzerland; Palazzo Monti, Brescia, Italy; and Fondazione Nicola Del Roscio, Rome—presented pieces conceived in dialogue with the work of the legendary US artist Paul Thek (1933–1988).
The texts, notes, and other original sources featured in the volume—ranging from essays to WhatsApp messages, diary entries, and newspaper pages—are presented in the languages in which they were contributed by the twenty-five authors involved (English or Italian). They re-create the intellectual context for the development of Thek’s/Di Pietro’s intertwined ideas, blurring fact and fiction and maintaining a certain ambiguity of authorship. The publication’s sole reprint comes from Chris Kraus’s Aliens & Anorexia (2000)

No full textSi tratta del prodotto di una Convenzione conto terzi stipulata tra il Dipartimento ITACA e la ASL RMH, Responsabili scientifici: A. Paris, R. Palumbo. L'attività ha riguardato uno studio approfondito dello stato di fatto di tutti i presidi ospedalieri del territorio della ASL RMH (Area dei Castelli romani, molto vasta, estesa da Rocca Priora a Anzio) al fine di elaborare proposte di intervento in termini di rifunzionalizzazione, riorganizzazione funzionale, accrescimento dei livelli di qualità ambientale e tecnologica, eventuale dismissione o cambio di funzione degli ospedali esistenti. In tale attività A.M. Giovenale ha svolto ruolo di coordinamento operativo. Nello Studio di fattibilità, finalizzato a valutare possibili alternative progettuali inerenti tutti i presidi ospedalieri della ASL RMH, A. M. Giovenale ha curato l’organizzazione dei singoli capitoli e degli specifici contributi, la metodologia per lo sviluppo dello Studio di fattibilità, con riferimento alle modificazioni allora in atto nel sistema normativo che regola gli interventi edilizi e alle innovazioni tecnologiche e procedurali
