Bliss Carman as a Poet
The author of this thesis first wrote a short biography on the life of Bliss Carman then examines Carman’s poetry that spanned over 40 years of the poet’s life.In particular the author examines the reoccurring (or non-reoccurring) themes and the style of writing Carman utilized in his poems.Additionally the thesis examines to friendships and acquaintances of Carman’s that greatly influenced the poet’s literary works.Overall the author examines each of the above aspects of Carman and his poems and explains how those different aspects influenced Carman’s written works
Carman Rhoades, U.S. Army Air Force: Stalag Luft 1, Germany, World War II
Oral history interview with Carman Rhoades of the U.S. Army Air Force during the Second World War. Rhoades was shot down over Germany and was imprisoned at Stalag Luft 1, near Barth, Germany. The camp was liberated by the Russian army in early May 1945.
Carman F. Rhoades was born in Nebraska on 15 November 1918 and died in Colorado on 4 September 2010
