No full textIl libro, a cura di Giulia Carluccio e di Peppino Ortoleva offre un’articolata panoramica del genere horror e delle sue figure “protagoniste”, zombi, fantasmi, vampiri e mummie, con un’attenzione particolare rivolta al cinema (da Nosferatu fino a Twilight), ma senza dimenticare il fumetto (da Vampirella a Dylan Dog), i videogame, le serie Tv (dagli Addams a True Blood): un universo multiforme da sempre in grado di esercitare una profonda fascinazione e attrazione su singoli e collettività.
Il contributo si focalizza sulle varie figure di "non-morti" presenti nelle forme della serialità televisiva, con particolare attenzione al panorama contemporaneo nella tv americana. Esaminando il passaggio dall'horror (e dal fantastico) cinematografico alle ibridazioni seriali, l'articolo mette in luce come la morte si trasformi in queste ultime in un elemento che non reca alcun carattere di unicità: è reiterabile e, soprattutto, è reversibile. Nelle serie televisive non si muore mai realmente o, quanto meno, è possibile non farlo. L’unicità della morte, la sua presenza come orizzonte ultimo è poi stata definitivamente dismessa quando, sulla scia del fumetto, le serie hanno cominciato a manipolare il tempo, piegandolo alle necessità dell’intreccio, rendendolo navigabile e modificabile. A Tool for Coil Sensitivity Analysis for an Arbitrary Surface Coil near Arbitrary Spherical Sample
No full textIn this paper we provide a tool to quickly estimate the coil sensitivity of a surface coil near an arbitrary spherical sample. The tool is very fast because it relies on analytical solutions to estimate the B-1 field distribution in the sample, and the power P-c dissipated by the coil resistance and the power P-s dissipated by the induced electric fields in the sample. We have provided plots of the coil sensitivity and of the ratio P-s/P-C for several parameters such as operating frequency, coil radius, distance of the coil from the sample

After an introduction on the notation and the definitions of Mathieu functions and their related properties, Fortran 90 subroutines to compute them are described and validated with some comparisons.
