Get PDFThe Portuguese economy presents a low unemployment rate when compared to its European counterparts and it has been claimed that this is partly due to the slow restructuring of the economy, which has been keeping its specialisation in traditional industries, some of them major exporting industries. This study analyses job creation and job destruction at the firm level across skill groups, during the 1980s and the 1990s. The major aim is to explore the role of international trade against alternative explanations of job flows, providing an answer to the question: did international trade help sustain the employment of particular groups of workers, namely the least skilled, in the Portuguese economy? Could conditions in international markets therefore have contributed to keep a low unemployment rate? A matched data set on workers and firms is used, which includes a direct measure of the skill of the worker. Results indicate that technology indicators are more relevant determinants of job flows than conditions in international product markets. Indeed, import prices have no impact on job creation or job destruction for the unskilled or on job creation for the skilled. Higher export prices lead to job creation for the skilled labour force, thus pointing to a certain skill upgrading

Get PDFYoutube merupakan media sosial yang berguna untuk mencari informasi hingga hiburan dalam bentuk ragam konten video yang diuplad setiap harinya. Adanya hal tersebut memudahkan komunikasi tiap orang khususnya bagi seseorang yang melakukan kegiatan personal branding dalam video blog (vlog) di media sosial Youtube. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan mengenai pembentukan personal branding food vlogger Nex Carlos di channel Youtube melalui analisis Model Elaboration Likelihood (ELM). Dengan menggunakan teori Model Elaboration Likelihod, konsep dalam penelitian ini adalah personal branding dan media sosial Youtube. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah deskriptif kualitatif. Unit analisis dalam penelitian ini ialah teks yang berhubungan dengan data-data verbal dari vlog di channel Youtube Nex Carlos. Penelitian ini mengumpulkan data melalui dokumentasi dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data menggunakan rancangan analisis isi, yang bersumber dari komunikasi verbal vlog Nex Carlos yang kemudian diidentifikasi kembali secara tertulis dari tayangan salah satu playlist vlog \u27Makan Keliling Indonesia\u27 di channel Youtube Nex Carlos. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembentukan personal branding Nex Carlos di channel Youtubenya melalui dua rute, yaitu rute sentral dan priferal. Pada rute sentral, personal branding dibentuk dan dipahami melalui argumentasi positif. Pada rute periferal, argumentasi tersebut didukung dengan kualitas komunikator yang terdiri atas ethos, atraksi, dan kekuasaan. Dengan demikian, adanya temuan-temuan tersebut menjadikan tayangan food vlog Nex Carlos menarik untuk ditonton dan dipublikasikan kepada khalaya
