No full textChiara Lubich (1920–2008), although the author of 32 books published in 26 countries (178 editions, 3.2 million copies), is better known for her social engagement, as reflected in numerous awards. She began to be regarded as a literary author only in the early 2000s, and primarily from a linguistic rather than literary perspective. This article focuses on her book Meditazioni (Meditations), reconstructs its genesis by tracing the writing process from the late 1950s to her death and the 2021 critical edition, and offers a literary analysis. This reveals Lubich as a forerunner of a new conception of literature: literature as relationship – not only between author and reader, but also among subject, inspiration, and the editorial process

No full textIl contratto di rent to buy è un istituto, recentemente introdotto nel nostro ordinamento, di chiara matrice anglosassone, proprio di quel "diritto civile della crisi economica" sviluppatosi in questi anni recenti. Il rent to buy dovrebbe, infatti, agevolare l'accesso alla proprietà privata immobiliare, favorendo i soggetti che (per mancanza di reddito adeguato, dovuto alla mancanza del lavoro o per altri motivi) si trovano in difficoltà a onorare il prezzo della vendita uno actu. La legislazione in tal senso propone all'operatore professionale, il notaio, un contratto che all'atto della stipula immette nel godimento dell'immobile a titolo oneroso un soggetto qualificabile come "conduttore" (con l'obbligo di pagamento di un canone, in parte quale corrispettivo del godimento, e in altra parte quale corrispettivo del futuro trasferimento), con diritto di acquisto della proprietà entro un termine determinato. Le questioni sottese alla normativa, assai complesse, sono molte e immediatamente ravvisabili: se si possa discorrere di un contratto unitario e tipico ovvero di un contratto misto, e quale sia la distinzione rispetto agli istituti domestici già utilizzati nella prassi (leasing finanziario; vendita con riserva di proprietà; locazione con patto di vendita consecutiva alla cessazione della locazione); ancòra, il problema della scomposizione dei canoni, richiesto dalla legge; nondimeno, le questioni dell'eventuale inadempienza di una delle parti (del concedente o del conduttore); infine, i problemi dell'opponibilità ai terzi del contratto, la sua trascrivibilità, i risvolti fiscali ecc

Analyses of Methanogenic Population as Key Indicator for Anaerobic Digestion: A Case-Study in the Organic Fraction of Municipal Solid Waste Treatment

The anaerobic digestion of the organic fraction of municipal solid waste (OFMSW) is a treatment biologically optimizable. The analysis of the microbial balance within the digester allows not only to describe and improve the efficiency of the system but also to foresee potential variations after biochemical interventions. This work aims to highlight methanogenic population variations in two similar parallel digesters to identify bio-indicators for digestion performance after the inclusion of an additive.
Methods
The analysed industrial case study involved the two parallel, pilot-scale, bio-digesters of ACEA Pinerolese Industriale. They had analogous design and fed by the same OFMSW except for an additive inclusion. The analyses by qRT-PCR, on both bio-digesters, have been performed to determine an impact of the additive on the growth and metabolic activity of total methanogens, Methanosarcina spp., Methanocorpuscolum spp., and Methanospirillus spp.
Results
Collected data showed that the addition of biopolymers extracted from compost produced both total methanogens and Methanosarcina decrease (7.67 vs. 7.48 and 6.05 vs. 5.69 Log gene copies/mL sludge respectively, T-test p < 0.01) affecting slightly the methane yield (-8%). Methanosarcina was the highest expressed methanogen; however, the results suggested the involvement of a highly complex and heterogeneous methanogen community.
Conclusions
Total methanogens and active Methanosarcina modulations are able to highlight major bio-methane production even if their shift is slight. Globally only 3–4% of the present and 12–13% of the active methanogens were described. However, biological approach can supply a proxy of production performance of the digester also concerning the feeding peculiarities

From Canvas to Music: Mathematics as a Tool for the Composition of Jackson Time
No full textThe creation of ``Jackson time'' is a project which involves a composer, Davide Amodio, and
a mathematician, Chiara de Fabritiis.
Our common aim was to to ``translate'' a painting by Jackson Pollock, Summertime n. 9,
into a piece of music, making use of different mathematical tools to detect the quantities needed for the
composition. We were inspired by the idea that the painting itself contained some kind of inner--music,
due to the fact that Pollock's moves during the dripping on the canvas had a sort of rhythm, indeed they were often
described by witnesses as a dance.
This paper describes the mathematical background, in particular it illustrates both the analysis
of the painting which was carried out by the two of us and the choice of the mathematical techniques applied to
compute the parameters needed for the composition, which is due to the author. The reader will find a more detailed
