Position sensorless control of the transverse-laminated synchronous reluctance motor
No full textThe sensorless control of the transverse-laminated synchronous reluctance motor is introduced, pointing-out the negative effect of cross-saturation. Then, an observer-based sensorless control scheme is proposed, which solves for this problem. Thus, a very good robustness against load variations is achieved. Moreover, the working speed is extended from zero to maximum speed, including the flux-weakening feature. This is obtained by a combine method of rotor position estimation, making use of both e.m.f.-based estimation and signal injection, without any need of additional voltage. A prototype drive has been assembled, making use of a commercial motor, and the obtained experimental results are given. A dynamic performance is achieved which is near to that of a sensored control, in the whole speed range. Moreover, position-sensorless position control is feasible

No full textLa pornografia, ovvero la trattazione e raffigurazione di soggetti erotici, è la scrittura attraverso cui è possibile rappresentare individui intenti in atti sessuali. Scrittura in senso lato, poiché la pornografia utilizza diversi linguaggi: innanzi tutto il visivo, comprendendo immagini che vanno dai reperti archeologici dell’antichità, con uomini e donne intenti nell’ars amatoria, fino ai più moderni scatti fotografici, ma anche il verbale, dunque i romanzi, le poesie. Il sonoro perché certi gemiti fanno parte di una grammatica specifica e di sicuro l’audio-visivo, come proiezione e rappresentazione più vicina alla scena nel suo compiersi.
L’oggetto della pornografia sembra dunque di facile descrizione; più complesso è la definizione dei modi in cui esso possa essere rappresentato. Sono proprio le modalità di manifestazione a determinare repertori mutevoli a seconda del tempo e dello spazio in cui si situano e ad incidere nelle relazioni, sempre complesse e instabili, fra la pornografia e la morale, o il comune senso del pudore, cioè sugli effetti che possono produrre nelle sensibilità di chi ne fruisce.
Il linguaggio della pornografia è spesso provocatorio: può connotare precise posizione politiche in alcune sue forme realizzate. Come se con la pornografia stessa, o attraverso di essa, si potesse parlare anche di qualche cosa d’altro: di come i costumi sessuali evolvono, dei modi in cui le persone si esibiscono, del mutare della società.
Il discorso si fa più complesso quando si vogliono stabilire dei distinguo fra pornografia e scrittura del sesso, fra il parlare dell’una o dell’altro. Come scrive Baudrillard, infatti, «La pornografia (...) aggiunge una dimensione allo spazio del sesso, lo rende più reale del reale – e questo la priva di seduzione. Inutile cercare di capire quali fantasmi ossessionino la pornografia (...) poiché qui essi sono cancellati dalla sovrabbondanza di “realtà”» (Baudrillard 1979, tr. it. 1997, p. 37). Il confine diviene labile e varia, di nuovo, a seconda dei contesti spaziali e temporali che circondano il testo e del lettore a cui si rivolge: ciò che è volgare e popolare per l’uno può divenire sottile e sofisticato per l’altro. Il pornografico può rientrare nel poetico o dar vita al poetico pornografico. Soprattutto nel panorama mediale – e di Internet in particolare – laddove i confini sono sfumati per natura, il sesso si confonde con il porno, il porno conduce all’ambito del serio o, all’opposto, del ridicolo; entrambi assumono spesso forme giocose e contemporaneamente occupano spazi di seria riflessione.
A partire da queste brevi riflessioni si è tentato di descrivere i modi in cui il porno si propone nelle pagine di Internet, sia per la vastità dell’offerta, sempre più legata ad un principio di “file sharing”, “free download” o “free vision”, come per altri contenuti della Rete, sia per le possibilità di fruizione che propone
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases.
