Get PDF曹彦约历官孝宗、光宗、宁宗、理宗四朝,大凡政治、经济、军事、教育均有涉猎,为南宋名臣。著述颇丰,文学创作成就主要在诗歌,为南宋著名诗人。然其生平事迹未见有专文论述,今勾稽史乘、方志、宗谱等史料,详细考出曹氏家世、事迹、著述等方面的情况,并予以编年,希望为进一步研究曹氏诗文创作成就者提供资料。Cao Yan-yue was a political official who lived through the Southern Song Dynasty of Xiao Zong,Guang Zong,Ning Zong and Li Zong.He had accomplishments in politics,economy,military affairs and education,so he was a famous minister of the Southern Song Dynasty.Cao Yan-yue had many writings,and the poem was his main achievement in literature.He was a famous poet of the Southern Song Dynasty.However,few people studed on Cao Yan-yue's life and activities.So this thesis would give a chronological and textual research on the family,activities,workings of Cao Yan-yue according to the history,local chronicles, genealogies and other materials related.Consequently,it would provide some useful materials for the researchers who are interested in the achievements of Cao Yan-yue's poems and essays
A question of loyalty : Xun Yu, Cao Cao and Sima Guang
Get PDFIn 212 AD, as the army of the great warlord Cao Cao 曹操 was moving south against his southern rival Sun Quan 孫權, there was a sad incident in the camp. Xun Yu 荀彧, a leading counsellor and one of Cao Cao's oldest supporters, died at Shouchun 壽春 city on the Huai 淮 River. There are varying accounts and opinions whether he died of natural causes or whether he killed himself, but Cao Cao was embarrassed and Emperor Xian of Han 漢獻帝, though close-held under his control, made a point of mourning Xun Yu. Nine hundred years later, moreover, as Sima Guang 司馬光 of the Northern Song dynasty compiled his chronicle Zizhi tongjian 資治通鑑, he took the death of Xun Yu as the occasion for a powerful essay on proper conduct in troubled times. The story of Xun Yu and Cao Cao, therefore, not only touches the tensions of loyalty and legitimacy between a falling dynasty and a rising power, it provided one of China's greatest Confucianists with a case-study for his moral teaching.

Diagnosis: The new genus lacking swimming plates at metatibia and metatarsus degenerated is allied to Paraxya Cao, Chen & Yin, 2019, but differs from latter by length of head and pronotum longer than tegmen, tegmen with Sc vein and R vein, length of metatibia 2.3 times length of apical spurs and 8 th segment of antennae not narrow in base. The new genus is also allied to Xya Latreille, 1809, but differs from latter by the metatibia lacking swimming plates. No full textThis article reports an exploratory study on using performance assessment in mathematics instruction in a high-performing secondary school in Singapore. An intact mathematics class participated in the study, and received chapter-based performance tasks as intervention during regular mathematics lessons for about one and a half school years. The performance tasks used included authentic and/or open-ended tasks. The students’ academic achievements and attitudes in mathematics were compared with a comparison class that did not receive the intervention. Both quantitative and qualitative data were collected, mainly through questionnaire surveys, performance task tests, conventional school exams, and interviews with students and teachers. The results suggest that the students receiving the intervention performed significantly better than their counterparts in solving conventional exam problems, and in general they also showed more positive changes in attitudes towards mathematics and mathematics learning. The students from the experimental class also expressed positive views about the benefits of using performance tasks in promoting their ability in higher order thinking, though no statistically significant difference was detected between the two classes of students in solving unconventional tasks before and after intervention. A model for the thermodynamics of and strengthening due to co-clusters in Al-Mg-Si based alloys
Get PDFAn expanded model for the thermodynamics of co-clusters and their strengthening is presented, and the model is applied to predict co-cluster formation and strengthening in Al-Mg-Si alloys. The models are tested against data on a wide range of Al-Mg-Si alloys aged at room temperature. The strengthening due to co-clusters is predicted well. The formation of the co-clusters is studied in an Al-0.5at%Mg-1at%Si alloy using three-dimensional atom probe analysis. The results correspond well with the model. It is shown that in general, (short-range) order strengthening due to co-clusters will be the main strengthening mechanism in these alloys. Apart from the co-clusters, Si clusters also form, but due to their low enthalpy of formation, they contribute little to the strength
