As GUD 7 editor, Elisabetta Canepa offers a critical overview of the twenty published papers (written by scholars of interiors, architecture, and city design in collaboration with cognitive scientists), situating the contributions in a more complete and complex context of reference. The ANFA 20th Anniversary Conference (September 2023) provides a fruitful prompt to analyze potentials, challenges, and horizons of the convergence of architecture (the art of building) and neuroscience (the experimental study of experience), now invoked with enthusiasm as demonstrated by the progressive and constant increase of publications, symposiums, exhibitions, workshops, and academic curricula dedicated to this interdisciplinary field.This essay was developed within the RESONANCES project — Architectural Atmospheres: The Emotional Impact of Ambiances Measured through Conscious, Bodily, and Neural Responses. The series, published by Sagep Editori (2021), is made of eight books about contemporary buildings constructed in Genoa between 1950 and 1990. Specifically, this volume describes a business, commercial, and residential complex in Piccapietra (2/5/7 Pammatone street) by Franco Albini and Franca Helg (1955/1962) and their project for the Genoese Center of Arts in Acquasola Park (1955/1969)

No full textORDINARY ROOMS è il primo capitolo delle cronache di “History of the Future”, viaggio nel diorama architettonico del XX e XXI secolo. Il progetto didattico raccontato nella presente pubblicazione ha avuto inizio durante l’anno accademico 2015–2016, nell’ambito del Laboratorio di Progettazione Architettonica 2B del Dipartimento Architettura e Design (dAD) della Scuola Politecnica di Genova, diretto dai docenti Francesco Librizzi e Valter Scelsi, con la collaborazione di Paolo Boero, Damiano Boldrini e Elisabetta Canepa. L’anno successivo, tale esperienza progettuale è stata approfondita e integrata con i contributi degli studenti del Laboratorio di Progettazione Architettonica 2A, corso tenuto da Valter Scelsi, con il supporto di Francesco Bacci, Elisabetta Canepa e Angelo Torre. *** L’esercitazione sviluppata si declina in due tracce complementari: [A] la serie monumentale (a.a. 2015–2016), composta da nove episodi residenziali innestati su archi di trionfo e portali urbani; [B] la serie domestica (a.a. 2016–2017), raccontata attraverso quattordici case d’autore del Novecento trasposte all’interno del territorio genovese. La collezione dei ventitré disegni di architettura nasce da un esercizio simbiotico di progettazione e rappresentazione, in cui opere di singolare natura (archi di trionfo, porte monumentali o ville d’autore) vengono sottoposte a un ciclo di indagine che prevede quattro fasi progressive: studio della preesistenza, decontestualizzazione, dislocazione e risignificazione funzionale tramite un compiuto progetto di architettura. *** Graficamente, l’intero processo di studio viene restituito attraverso l’elaborazione di una tavola di sintesi costruita con la tecnica della sezione prospettica. Da ogni esemplare sono gemmate dieci riproduzioni litografiche su supporto cartaceo (formato 30 x 42 centimetri), ottenute mediante stampa offset da Risograph
