Implementing the AIFMD: Success or failure? ECMI Commentary No. 34, 28 March 2013
No full textThis commentary considers the implementation of the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD) by the European Commission. The AIFMD creates an internal market for asset management and as an endeavour to develop market-based finance is an important piece of legislation for the European economy. The author, Mirzha de Manuel Aramendía, considers the implementation of some of the provisions that raised concern among industry participants. He finds that, on balance, a practical and flexible approach to implementation has been followed that should help secure the success of the framework, which at present is still uncertain. The commentary also considers the remuneration guidelines adopted recently by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). It encourages EU and national authorities to commit to the success of the AIFMD framework, as part of a broader effort to develop capital markets and reduce the historical reliance of the European economy on bank finance

Bera izan zen, baita ere, beste industriari txiki askoen aitzindari.This paper examines (the figure of) Manuel Calixto Ascorbe Mendiri (1769-1832), a Navarrese who emigrated to New Spain and from where, after an adventure originally commercial and later military and political, he did not return to Los Arcos as the rich immigrant (Indiano) he had expected. It is in his home country where he forged his importance, not as a trader but as an industrialist, in a moment of important changes for Navarra and Spain, being an example of the industrial class in Navarra, which starts to fourish in the 19th century, precedent of many other small industrialists.El presente trabajo estudia la figura de Manuel Calixto Ascorbe Mendiri (1769-1832), navarro que emigró a Nueva España y de donde, tras una aventura inicialmente comercial y luego tornada en militar y política, no regresó a Los Arcos como el rico indiano que esperaba. Es en su tierra natal donde forjó su relevancia, no como comerciante sino como industrial, en un momento de importantes cambios para Navarra y España, siendo ejemplo de la clase industrial navarra que empieza a aflorar en el siglo XIX, precedente de otros muchos pequeños industriales

Cirugía de mínimo acceso: Un cambio de paradigma. Aportes del Hospital Universitario “General Calixto García”
No full textIntroducción: Los avances científicos y tecnológicos en el campo de la salud y sus consecuencias prácticas, justifican que en la actualidad se hable de un cambio de paradigma en la práctica quirúrgica, como lo es la cirugía de mínimo acceso.Objetivo: Describir el cambio que ha generado la cirugía de mínimo acceso en el sistema de salud cubano y reconocer al aporte que ha tenido el Hospital Universitario “General Calixto García”, en el desarrollo de esta.Método: Se realizó una búsqueda en las diferentes bases de datos electrónicas disponibles en el país y se usaron descriptores como: cirugía endoscópica, cirugía de mínimo acceso, desarrollo científico-técnico, paradigma, robótica. Se revisaron artículos de reciente actualización, y finalmente se contó con 31 referencias bibliográficas.Conclusiones: En Cuba se ha producido un desarrollo proporcional de la cirugía de mínimo acceso en correspondencia con el reportado internacionalmente. Constituye un nuevo enfoque de la terapéutica del paciente quirúrgico y un cambio de paradigma, que conlleva a modalidades terapéuticas cada vez más complejas

properties of Yang-Mills fields, according to a group approach to quantization
scheme, enables the gauge group coordinates to acquire dynamical content
