Combining weak and strong lensing in cluster potential reconstruction
We propose a method for recovering the two-dimensional
gravitational potential of galaxy clusters which combines data from
weak and strong gravitational lensing. A first estimate of the
potential from weak lensing is improved at the approximate locations
of critical curves. The method can be fully linearised and does not
rely on the existence and identification of multiple images. We use
simulations to show that it recovers the surface-mass density
profiles and distributions very accurately, even if critical curves
are only partially known and if their location is realistically
uncertain. We further describe how arcs at different redshifts can
be combined, and how deviations from weak lensing can be included
Using Supercapacitors in Combination with Bi-directional DC/DC Converters for Active Load Management in Residential Fuel Cell Applications
Deep endometriosis with pericolic lymph node involvement: a case report and literature review
Deep infiltrating endometriosis is an often-painful disorder affecting women during their reproductive years that usually involves the structures of the pelvis and frequently the gastrointestinal tract. We present the case of a 37-year-old female patient with an endometrial growth on the sigmoid colon wall causing pain, diarrhea and the presence of blood in the feces. The histology of the removed specimen also revealed the involvement of the utero-vesical fold, the recto-vaginal septum and a pericolic lymph node, which are all quite uncommon findings. To identify the endometrial cells, we performed immunohistochemical staining for CD10 and the estrogen and progesterone receptor
A Critical Evaluation and Design of Bi-directional DC/DC Converters for Super-Capacitors Interfacing in Fuel Cell Applications
Among innovative conversion systems for alternative energy, Fuel Cells (PCs) are ideal in applications as distributed power generation or automotive. The connection of FCs to domestic or industrial loads requires a DC/AC converter also acting as a energy buffer to match the different dynamics of FCs and loads. In the last years, a new type of electrolytic capacitors called Super-Capacitors (SCs), has been designed using double layers technology. Such components are able to store more energy than electrolytic capacitors maintaining the capability to swap it at high power levels. Firstly, different solution used to connect SCs to a FC based conversion system are considered. Then, a comparison of bidirectional DC/DC converters designed to manage SCs energy is performed. Finally, the converter design and a laboratory prototype of the adopted solution are reported
MR imaging of the scrotum
Magnetic resonance imaging represents a valuable problem-solving tool in the investigation of scrotal diseases. The technique has a clinical role in cases of inconclusive ultrasonographic examinations and when tissue characterization is necessary. The evaluation of large masses is improved compared to ultrasonography. A variety of nonsurgical lesions are safely characterized. MR imaging can be used to provide information about testicular perfusion with a sensitivity rivaling that of contrast-enhanced ultrasonography

Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
